  • There is no hump on the shoulder area, thus it is a black bear. It's mother may have been killed. It's not unusual for black bear to be killed on the road. In PA area alone there are so many bears killed by cars. It's so sad

  • 100% black bear

  • That is a yearling black bear. Don't be fooled by the cinnamon color.

  • gosh what a pretty zebra

  • it's a color phase black bear. They wander away from thier momma quite a bit. But they are always within' crying distance. I agree with abdulbabe.

  • My guess is if bears can be it's a mix

  • What ya mean that's a MOOSE EH bahahahahahahahahhahaha

  • irritating music....

  • Comment removed

  • it can be easly be mistaken, but there is no hump. i wouldnt encourge people to approach, the best thing to save it, is to chase after it with dogs so it would be terrifed but safe

  • Lots of light colored "Black" Bears in California--some even blonde color.

    Clearly a black bear

  • ''Also Dude, Black bear is not the preferred nomenclature. African-American bear, please.''

  • loooooooool

  • that's not a Grizzly that's MY SON !!!!! All these years

  • it's a Grizzly.... ^^

oh ya what music is this?

I love the music in the clip

it sound so good and relax ^^

  • @Fattybuddha braveheart soundtrack

  • Color phase cinnamon black bear. happens all the time, not that rare.

  • no doubt it was a black bear

  • A black bear. The facial features are easy to identify.

  • Definitely a black bear. The snout, absense of a hump, large ears. He is probably a young bear just weaned from his mother. He is hanging around the yard for the green grass. In the spring, when I assume this vid was shot, the bears seek greens for the first week or two out of the den. I posted a video response from my neighborhood showing another brown color phase black bear.

  • that's obviously a black bear. You can tell by the big ears, no shoulder hump. Black bears can range from black to this light brown color. Grizzly's are taller, big shoulder hump and the "grizzled" appearance with a dished forehead.

  • this is a hybrid?

  • No, im pretty sure that is a black bear

  • that is a black bear cub. this youngster should have still been with its momma. i have grown up around black bears long enough to know and im very well educated about them. that cub is no more than six months to a year old. and is definatly a black bear. you can tell by the black markings on the tips of the ears.

  • the black`markings have nothing to do with anything

  • Black bear and call the dept of fish and wildlife.....

it looks like a freaking lump of crap walking like my grandmothers one legged pet hamster.

  • Did anyone think to call the Dept of Fish and Wildlife? That cub looks like a yearling or less - the mother may have been killed or injured in the vicinity. Hmmmmm.

  • Look at the ears and the snout shape. Both are too long to belong to a grizzly. It does have similar coloring to a grizzly but black bear can be that color too. I am quite sure that is a black bear.

  • Obviously a black bear. Prob just left mama to live on its own.

  • By its posture I would say its a black bear, but by the faint black shadowing around the eyes I would say its a teen grizzly.

  • this is a black bear!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Aaww! He's so adorable!

  • Fun! LOved the lead in and out's, very funny! Keeping it light helped, what with the sad, lost, lonely music, accentuating the Lonely Bear Tale!

    Thanks!

  • undoubtedly blackbear

  • I tell ya it looks a lot like a black bear to me. ONe easy way to tell the distiction between the 2 without eating the like that fag said which I higly doubt is true is to look at their ears. Black bears have more triangular shaped ears and their noses do not dish downward like a grizzlies do. I know its hard to tell without comparing the 2 but it is true wthn a black bears nose is facing the ground you can run a straight edge along its nose and it sould have contact with 90% of their face!

  • that is just a colourphased black bear.If you look at its head and body,it is easily identified as a black bear.Grizzlies have different looking heads. We have many of those colourphased bears here in BC.and its definately not the Kermode(spirit bear).

  • The only way to know if a bear is grisley is to taste its meat. If it's really hard to chew, it's grisley.I have some great Kodiak Filets from Omaha Steaks. The bear in this video is definitely not a black...I'm sorry...African American bear.

  • Well arn't you just Mr. Smart

  • black bear or hybrid

  • Black bear , light cinnamon phase . Probably 2nd year cub just away from mama .

  • I hear in the rainforest in BC they have a species they call the Spirit Bear, its is a black bear but is almost albino.

  • This is the soundtrack from the Movie Braveheart

    with Mel Gibson

  • So cute! Please somebody knows what music is this?? I was trying to search the name and who sings for a long time! If you know please tell me, thank you!

  • How about CINNAMON phase. Nice spelling job, eh?

  • Definately a yearling cimmamon phase black bear.

  • or it might even have been a CINNAMON phase, too. Nice blunder, huh?

  • It is a beautiful black bear cub and a wonderful video. Thanks for sharing.

  • Um no.. see the hump on it's back?.. and the grizzled fur.. Yeah it's definitely a grizzly.

  • No wait.. It's a Black bear. My bad. x.x

  • what a cute video. LOL, not to mention cute way of asking questions.. "where was mamma".

anyways, it's a black bear. as other poster stated, it's lacking the prominant "hump" of the front shoulders which are seen in grizzlies, and the black bear's face closely resembles that of a dog.

  • Yeah, black bear gets my vote too. Sure is cute :-)

  • Oh and I forgot to mention. Black bears come in different color phases. Black is the most common, but other shades include white, brown, and blonde.

  • It's a black bear. The biggest giveaway is that it lacks a hump on its shoulder. You can also tell it's a black bear from its large ears. Grizzly ears are smaller and more roundish. The bear was probably old enough to be on its own. A black bear only stays with its mother until the end of their second year.

  • it's a black bear
