  • They all get away with it with fancy lawyers and victim intimidation and its all swept under the carpet just try to find a list of NRL rapists on google

  • hawanna find a fellow who can satisfy my needs

  • I highly dislike sport culture.

  • It is indeed a sad state of affairs that a culture evolved around a physical sport would be so permissive and lax as to tolerate and thus condone the excesses which it and its role models are susceptible to, for these behaviors can be so degrading to human nature (and damaging to its victims), let alone the sport itself and what it is supposed to promote. It points out a rather disturbing characteristic: all too often when given the opportunity to attain more noble heights, human ego will ...

  • (cont'd) ... in turn subvert such opportunities to display its animal weaknesses. You question this quite aptly in lines 10 through 13. Your insights very effectively describe far more serious consequential issues throughout this piece. I have a chosen to bring this one point to light, for it seems by the number of inappropriately assigned 'thumbs down' opinions you have garnered that this point is self demonstrating. An excellent piece. Too bad so many ...

  • (cont'd) ... do not comprehend the universality of the repeated phrase "I am...". Ego too easily clouds one's mirrors.

  • A different angle of abuse, but one that undoubtedly needed to be heard, of course.

Great flow, very clear in it's stance and message. 5 stars!

  • Finally ! Its so refreshing to read a brilliant poem that challenges the appalling behavior of so many of our professional league players. They are paid to play sport - not to sexually and physically abuse women and partake in drug and alcohol abuse! Thank You for writing about a topic that needs to be taken more seriously by the nrl and society in general. Props to you!!!

  • So True...

  • that was a lovely poem

  • Your amazing - that is exactly how I feel. I am a victim of marital rape and every time I hear of another woman raped I feel her pain, her shame and her re-victimisation. So bizarre to say at least my rapist was not famous and a "hero" to the masses.

  • SPEACHLESS!!! AMAZING

  • Well said. Sport needs some soul searching. Blessings +++ The Saint +++

  • I appreciate your comment. Blessings 2 U 2

  • The least fortunate woman is she whom some hero thinks should be his as a prize. This was a lot deeper than it may seem.

  • Thank you for your comment

  • I LOVE YOU THE POEMS YOU SAY MAKE ME CRY

  • Thanks for the feed back :o}

  • Love this poem. Lots of heart from the poet and strong points to consider! Here in the US we have our issues of abuse from some of our high profile player too. One would hope that with such big earnings players also learn to take responsiblity for their public off field lives too.

  • here in Australia the highest paid men in sports are the worst role models. in the past 4 years they have had the worst record for abuse of drugs, women, alcohol & their supporters. shame on the NRL, Cricket Australia & the AFL (aussie rules football). Fools!!

  • wow, what a suprise... another football supporter tags a negative but doesn't supply their channel for comment. gutless just like the perps.

  • you are a TRUE POET!!!!

master of her craft.........THANK YOU ;D

  • Thank you for this one as well, Lili.

    ~Megan

  • Thank You Megan :o)

  • mateship of the uncouth, heh. where do we get this myth that sportsmen and their fans get to be jerks??? honestly! i have to laugh to keep from crying. seems pervasive in every culture.

  • Thanks 4 your comment medicinesocks :o)

  • Good poem its not her fault it wasn't mine when it happened to me. Thank You

  • well said...

  • Nice poem, great message. Looking forward to hearing more from you, thanks

  • you are very welcome - thank you for your comment :o)

  • Women need to stop complaining and making themselves out to be victims all the time. Obviously you have a massive chip on your shoulder about men. THE PATRIARCHY DOES NOT EXIST. Just like Santa Claus. Women have the same opportunities as men, in fact there is a lot of bias TOWARDS women in western countries, so quit trying to play the victim card and quit trying to insinuate that all men are abusers/rapists because IT IS NOT TRUE!

  • I agree, not all men are abusers/rapists... my poem was written as a response to episodes of abuse by footballers in Australia. Thank you for your comment.

  • good poem it must go deep huh?

  • Unfortunately yes it does. Thanks for your feed back, its appreciated.

  • Footballers! General footballers or is this about something high profile?

  • It is always so with the powerful and the indulged
