  • What the hell are they trying to do with this song? This is not a song about joy or whatever they're saying it is. Na bister 500,000!! Don't forget the dead, Romale Chavale.

  • / love you jeneffer my post gacalhasan@hotmail .com plaise mail

  • şu başlangıç şarkısını söyleyen kız kim

  • ama en güzelide şarkının girişindeki küçük kız söylüyor

  • ingilizcem yok ama bu şarkıyı en güzel sen söylüyorsun jneffer

  • Im not gipsy but I have heard this song before and the little girl was much better then Jennifer Crestol!!!

  • The little girl in the beginning had it right. Jennifer missed the whole passion that makes this song so beautiful.

  • Off-beat like a white girl's shoulder dance. Thanks immortal technique :-)

    Wood plow, don't judge me.

  • Is there anyplace that I can find the mp3 of this performance or the full concert? This is simply amazing. A true celebration of life!

  • Someone find this version, but without this stupid commentator at the begining???

  • MUNCA nu ne place, de suntem artisti.

  • @manoleTL fuckin communist

  • αρχισε γαματα και μετα το γαμησανε...

  • part1...

Ederlezi is the name of (word used for) a traditional gipsy Spring festival, celebrated on St.Gorge's day. Yes, they celebrate the comeback of spring and life (after the winter, spring is considered as the return of life, in all cultures, non just Gipsys ), BUT! The song is sang by a totaly sad person, which, due to his/her sadness or an other reason for incapability (we can not know why) can't participate in that celebration.

  • part2

It is not writen down for that manner, but considering the tone of every version (except for this sacrilegious one), the fact that the narrator does not participate in any of the joys everybody else is enjoing... >All my friends are dancing the oro...All the Roma, mommy, All the Roma, dad, dad...All the Roma, dad, slaughter lambs, But me, poor, I am sitting apart, A Romany day, our day, Our day, Ederlezi...<

  • part3

...and the fact that tne narrator is calling foh his/her "daje & babo/mommy & daddy" the conclusion is that this beautifull song has written "sadness" all over it.

So the magnificent little gipsy girl sang it the right way! And the rest of the song was misinterpreted.

  • part4

Ederlezi is a traditional gipsy song, the romani language is hard to describe... it has a base, a Romani base but they allways incorporate words (often someway altered) from the language of the country they stayin. So don't try to define it as bulgarian, greek, turkish, serbian... let's say it is "romani", because over 70% it realy is romani.

Plus: romani si not the same as romannian.

    :) ;)

Is it a little bit clearer now?! Hope it is.

FTW! :D I Loooove that song too! :)

  • Doamne ce prostie, sa plece de aici cu tiganii cu tot

  • Although Jennifer has a beautiful voice she should stick to English. Unfortunately the lyrics and words are off, because she does not put the emphasis within a word to the correct part: she can't feel the language of the Balkans.

  • You are all overreacting! Bregovic is the best version, I agree with you, but this is also beautiful. Liked the little girl also.

  • It's funny how there are so many different variations of this song......

  • This girl is an angel - face and voice too.

  • this is not traditional gypsy song. its a mix of serbo-gypsy music. Gypsi passion and serbian fire!!!! mix of serbo-gypsy words. And only Bregovic version is a real version. This is shit!!!!

  • this is tooo glamourous ....

    only a glitch.

  • Sa me amala oro khelena

    Oro khelena, dive kerena

    Sa o Roma daje

    Sa o Roma babo babo

    Sa o Roma o daje

    Sa o Roma babo babo

    Ederlezi, Ederlezi

    Sa o Roma daje

    spectacol incendiar, bravo Damian Dreghici

  • Ederlezi, is a party, it's the celebratoin of life...

Did he get the meaning of the song?

The fest is a party but not the song...

    All wrong

  • I agree that. ederlezi means celebration of etesian bayram. reception of spring. that culture from balkan countries. bulgarian, greek, turkish, bosnian as you know well.

  • @Outrow It has nothing with bayram to do the song is in celebration of the spring and St. George

  • Here is a great version of Ederlezi:

    watch?v=UUMq0RSTmvA&feature=related

  • This is all wrong. Ederlezi is Not a party song!

    Opre Romale! Romale Chavale!

  • @accordionmusic ederlezi is a calebration of life .is a day that gipsy people celebrate.thats what ordinary people know.of course the meaning may be different.but is good for people to enjoy music.and as you can see there r gipsy people on this video..u can do remixes and all this to songs is for love my friend.come if u want to my page and watch "ederlezi" from a greeck band.on a festival :)kisses
