If this was done by the Syrians then it was a big mistake even to the level of political suicide. But on the other hand if it was done by Israel then it was a great success considering that it lead to the end of the Syrian occupation.

R.I.P. to Rafik Hariri and all, but it's a shame how short the memories of some Lebanese are. Yes, Hariri joined many parties (without generalizing I'll say the Christians) in calling for Syrian withdrawal in 2005, but where was he for 15 years before that? Wasn't he Syria's #1 in Beirut? Where was he when Geagea was sent to prison? When Syria kidnapped hundreds to thousands of Lebanese? I will remember Hariri as a martyr for the Lebanese, but I cannot let his martyrdom overshadow his history.
