You have a Chopin philosoph then u come to this ballade?how do u integrate allof it.4 th ballade is not diff as music to me cuz the melody and invention is so close to main argument. here it is so easy to interpret all the many phrases&seem out of shape. FRANCois is amazing but he does things that give it more tension -less fit. The lack of cohesion(maybe me)the A major section here is too much too soon.The balance .This piece Formally is impossible to me.hard to hear more than one pian
I like Freddy's interpretations and his style VERY much, especially in the Chopin etudes. But, in this Ballade I can't help but feel that his style touches the piece inappropriately, at times going against what Chopin wrote. An interesting interpretation, entertaining certainly, but I don't think it is true to Chopin's intentions. Of course I don't know Chopin's intentions, I just know what he wrote in the score x D
The notes seem the same, the rhythm seems the same, but it's the varying tempo and the dynamics which gives this piece that sparkle. I want his talent so badly. :D
I totally agree. You can hear the same piece played by so many different people. When Kempf plays it it's as though he wrote the piece himself - he puts so much into it.

some passages are like " whoah, what happened there?" something different, which I can certainly appreciate, coming from this extraordinary pianist
