Wish they'd have had something like this when my father came home from WW2. He was a wounded warrior who carried shrapnel in his chest next to his heart from 1944 to 2010 when he passed away. Worse than the shrapnel he carried were the memories of what happened in combat & the memories of buddies lost. He landed on Normandy beach which Trace sings about in the second verse. I was so lucky to be with him when he got to see the completed WW2 memorial in Washington, DC. Memories I'll never forget.
