  • @gunkapoor My recipe is andaaz se, so here it goes. 2cup shredded beets, 1/4 cup shredded coconut ( fresh or frozen) 3 tblsp oil, 1 tsp mustard seed, 1 tsp zeera, few curry leaves, 4 cloves garlic& 4 hot chillies crushed and 1/4 cup diced onion. saute mustard seed& zeera until it sizzles, add coconut, onion saute til soft and then added garlic,chillie saute a little add shreeded beets salt to taste and continue to saute until moisture release cover and lower heat until slightly dry.

  • P.S: Basically, "Kuttu" can be made with other veggies as well like cabbage, cauliflower, beans, carrots or even mix of these things or even green leaf like spinach!..Its a good nutritious dish n soemwhat like daal. :)

    Now, mix this paste to the cooked beetroot n bring it to a boil also add salt n turmeric powder in this stage acc. to ur taste. When this is done for tadka you need the usual oil,mustard,urad dal,curry leaves and hing.done.!taste it it will be yummy with rice or chapati!!

    just cook the chopped beetroot(same size) in a cooker and till it turns soft n not mushy along with soem moong dal..next is u need to grind the masala paste and for that u need soem grated coconut, dry red chillies and jeera. Grind n make fine paste out of it..

  • Hey ladies.. this is one good dish n very healthy as well..i put everything except i avoid tamarind pulp..but will try this as well..wat ido is i add chopped onions as well..gives good flavour..

    we also make a nice simple gravy dish of this called "kuttu" in tamil n its splendid when u eat with rice.. i wanna share this recepie with u guys so that u can show it to others.. :) how can i do that?
