  • this is a beautiful house

  • What a gem of a video to find on this MLK day! Thank you for sharing!

  • if it was worth anything Donald trump would have bought it. but i don't understand why its not been cared for.. i mean seriously they were working on fixing it and these creepy ass people break into it and STEAL everything out of it. I mean what type of people would do that?

  • Ms. Scott must have been one heck of a lady. Damn shame they let that place go. I used to work in the area in the 90's and pass it daily & used to wonder about it's history.

  • What'sd the name of this piano music? It's beautiful : )

  • I agree with @thisisunreal1 We sure know how to ruin a good thing. I grew up in what was an historical area. John Philip Sousa used to preform here on a regular basis. The area had a large victorian amusement park with architecturally rich buildings everywhere in town. The park went into decline over the years and a shopping mall was put in it's place, the mansions and hotels were torn down to make way for strip mall type stores. Now it's hideous and generic.

  • @hop208 They want to celebrate the Centennial of the areas heyday, but I see nothing to celebrate. There isn't a single willow tree left in Willow Grove, just congestion, generic buildings and absolutely NOTHING to remind people of how wonderful the area used to be.

  • What a shame to let something like this go. All old ornate and detailed architecture is disappearing today. Our country should try to preserve every bit of it (instead of throwing money on stupid crap and unneeded programs at our expense).

  • How could anyone consider this an eyesore? Its one of the most beautiful buildings in Newark.

  • where's part two? Did they ever repair the mansion?

  • It's in New Jersey. Of course it's fucked up. You people elected scum like Corzine to lead you.

  • @masterunholywar: sorry for the misunderstanding.

  • Torn apart and vandalized by drug addicts and hoods. They actually took out the plumbing to sell for their fix. Disgusting!

  • @moonwillows1 How do you know they were drug addicts? Normal scrappers that are just trying to make a living are usually the ones who gut abandoned places. Not that I condone it, of course.

  • @MasterUnholyWar I commend you for not condoling thievery. How do you know they are not drug addicts? It is despicable that that building was left to be vandalized! And you have the audicity to call vandilization "making a living"??? My god, man, get real!!!

  • @moonwillows1 You're taking what I said the wrong way. I didn't mean the vandalizing itself as making a living. I just meant how scrappers collect any metal they can get, to make a living. Thus, some of them resort to gutting stuff out of abandoned properties. Sad but true.

  • Amazing and beautiful mansion!

  • this should be turned in to some type of museum. its a historic site. It should not be aloud to get destroyed torn apart by people

  • I wonder if its for sale again

  • why is it abandoned?

  • what did these people do to be able to live in such a mansion?

  • @garycalgary oops never mind lol

  • @garycalgary You never heard of German beer?

  • Where can I get photos from

  • This is why, in North America, we are stupid. People love to go to europe because of it's rich history & multitude of "monuments" to this history. Here, we are just starting to show some signs that we've been here for a while. Granted, nothing compared to the old world but, still something. What do we do? Tear down our "monuments' in the pursuit of modernization. It's amazing, the money spent on stupidity but, somehow, can't save a piece of history. Slow down & smell the roses, while we can!

  • @thisisunreal1 Wow! An North American Human Being with self-awareness, humility and knowledge of the world-outside-THE-united-states-of-USA!!

  • @thisisunreal1 agree. Here in the USA people are to fast to knocking things down just because it OLD. Big deal redo it and stop trying to make everything about making a buck.

  • @thisisunreal1 :

AMEN TO THAT!!! when i was stationed in Europe, i walked down streets once walked on by Henry VIII, toured castles that served King & Queens...NONE of that would exist in America - it would have long since been bulldozed!

  • @thisisunreal1 А чего ты хотел(а)? Европе сколько лет? А Америке? Да вы можете похвастать только древностями народов, которые сами сгубили! Или домами с несуществующими привидениями)))))))

  • This is an amzing story! I wish there was some way this place can be saved. What an amazing history.

  • I live about 5 minutes away from the mansion on Richmond Street. If I had enough money I would definately save this place. I would also love to live here.

  • Grew up right around the corner from this house, and never knew what it was! Lived on Court, right at MLK

  • OMG thanks so much for posting!! I've been dying to see the inside of this place!

  • Extremely interesting please keep posting

  • Very Interesting--I've been interested in this mansion for a very long time. So happy to finally see the inside of the castle.
