  • All the cats were good until 2007 with the F-series. My T- Cat was awesome,but this F-series is nothing more than a P.O.S. 4 years of headaches is enough. My brother always says to buy a Skidoo,and i may. He has a 05 GSX LTD..it has been awesome for him and absolutely no issues at all at 6800km. I may trade mine in but will probably get an 800 Etec-If you can't beat em...join em i guess.

  • You want reliability...don't buy Arctic  Cats...believe me,i know from experience.

  • we have all arctic cats, and haven't had any problems with them except normal wear ever since we got them new

  • @ARCTICRIDER54 Would you like to buy my 2008 F-series 1000 LXR? You want to talk problems,where can i start. First of all it is fast and rides like a dream... Thats it for the good...Panel melted due to exhaust,electrical issues,sway bar fell off at 300 miles,bolt bent in clutch. I had to move throttle cable as it was rubbing through on frame. I would trade it in but i have all the problems fixed i hope.My previous sled was an 02 thundercat..only minor problems in 5-6 years.i wish i had kept it.

  • @03kenseth well idk whats goin on there but we have 2 1998 cougars and haven't had any problems since we've gotton them and now i bought a 2010 z1 lxr and haven't had a single problem with it and put about 1000 miles on it last year and the only thing that happened was the little cat logo on the front started peeling so idk whats wrong with yours

  • let me get my f1000 out ill show them yamahas whats goin on lol but no im not a real big brand guy i got a polaris atv and a arctic cat snowmobile i love them both the same well the sled more its more fun but you get what i mean as long as your having fun and atleast out riding who cares what you one as long as your having the time of your life.

  • @69joearnold- I have an 06 apex it is rated at 150hp, I just raced a 2009 f1000(my brother) and beat it bad enough that while we were racing I turned around and stuck my hand out to mock him!!!!!! I love my apex cant wait to find a z1 turbo to race, I should loose but thats ok I like being the underdog!!!!!

  • How's it going against the F1000? I imagine your brothers was not tuned properly. Have you ran a Z1 yet?

  • My brother took his in aftyer I beat him and the dealer said it was running properly ect.. I'm not sure what the case was, I expected to loose to him- havent raced him since he refuses, havent found a Z1 to race yet, I am 99% sure I will loose but thats ok its still fun

  • if your apex is stock you won't come close, unless the f is severly messed up, which i heard there was alot of them that aren't to impressive, i raced a guy i work with against my f6, and they were about dead even in about 600 ft, but his was an attack, not sure how much speed difference there is between the two, but it's hard to look past yamahas reliability they all make good sleds

    Thats bullshit, I've ridden both. There is no comparison between an Attak and an F6. The Attak is a far superior sled in every way. Especially when it comes to power and speed.

  • yamaha is probably the most reliabe but the other brands are to the only offset of a yamaha is that their looks arent the greatest and they weigh about 30 pounds more on average

  • Let's take a look at where the sled is, racing flags, lots of crew guys, beating on a brand new sled at a race is probably not the brightest way to break it in! Dumb ass

Does your riding preference lean more toward owning a nice reliable 2-Up Touring / Retiree Rig / Dead Last Boat Anchor (a new, but ever so slowly mildly evolving Yammy)... OR.... Does your riding preference lean more tomorrow's owning one of theee NEWLY DESIGNED / QUICKLY EVOLVING & ADVANCING ROCKET'S TO HIT THE MARKET EACH AND EVERY YEAR!!!... (an Arctic Cat Z1 Turbo'd 4-stroke OR, an F1000 2-stroke) In which, I truly encourage to be an owner digression

  • That funny, you say slowly mildly evolving about the yammy, I seem to remember arctic cat coming out with the poorest excuse of a 4 stoke and yamaha having a hell of a sled that doesnt need a turbo--put a turbo on an apex and then race your beloved Z1, that is a laughable comparison, what a stuped comment!

  • @kenwallace32 an apex motor is a high compression motor and u cant run much boost without trashing the motor, and its like 4 grand and more for a aftermarket turbo kit for sleds, so pay 15 grand plus tax pdi and frieght then another 6 grand plus tax for a turbo kit or buy a z1 with the turbo for 15 grand plus tax pdi and frieght, then buy a d&d hyjacker for 1500 tax in and crank out 300hp as apose to the 200hp you'll make with an apex without doing an engine over haul to lower compression

  • @keeksta1 Your #'s are out to lunch, Apex turbo stage 1 is 260 hp , 5 grand for turbo, no mods to motor, and run pump gas, no overhaul. plus, my non turbo'd Apex whoops my buddy's z1, he don't even ride with us anymore, he needs set-up. All the Cat guys say Apex wont come close to Z1 but it hasnt happened yet here.

  • @Outspokendriller not breaking balls here just saying ive ridden both sleds and the z1 comes out on top and if you can find me a STOCK apex that will push 90 mph at 1/2 throttle then i will settle

    with more power comes less reliability, and that applies with ALL sleds.

  • Not really, my 01 SRX has 145 hp and it's very reliable. My buddy has an 07 Attak with 150 hp and it's been rock solid too.

    I guess your theory doesn't apply to Yamahas.

  • dont get me wrong, yamaha makes great shit, and they are very reliable.

    but are any of your sleds the first year of their production? the first year of any model always has bugs in it.

  • kinda true. same with owning a vehicle or buying one right from the lot...it's gonna have something wrong with it cause none of the part's have been id like to call it broken in yet warn in...so i agree with you on this

  • too bad, i had an srx and it blew up to times in one season, last yamy ill ever own.

    yamaha bike are alright though

    Yeah well if you or the previous owner didn't take proper care of it that can happen to any sled.

    With proper maintenance and care Yammies are the most reliable things on snow. There's no debating that.

  • but the highest hp sled yamaha has is like 135.... a f6 has that much hp

    Thats wrong.....the 00-02 SRX 700 is 145ish hp, the Apex is rated at 150hp and I think the V-Max 4 800 was rated at 160hp...

  • @netefrog acutally, i had a ski-doo formula 500, and for 5 years i didnt do any maintenance, aside from oil, and the think never let me down , then after i got the yamaha, i dont even want to sled anymore, because i dont have the money thanks to yamaha,

  • Yea well it was at the demos up in colebrook, nh. They talked it up on the radio so much and was hardly out on the trail cause it wasnt runnin right. The new yamahas were runnin all day!!

  • heyyy dumbass!!! if you noticed yamaha has had four strokes for the past how many years...this is arctic cats newest sled.....obviously when any brand comes out with a new sled there are always some bugs to work out

  • coulb not tell, it was after a couple demo runs but they had to replace something and word was there were problems around the event!!
