I think it's more of a emotional break down where you turn to anyone you can think of. I'm sure at the time he didn't really have anyone to go to, to get his stress out and his hurt... he's calling out for help, but in this case his state of mind is all over the place, so he rambles on about all sorts of crap. I'm probably not really making sense, but I've been through that crazy ...twisted up emotions and throwing it at random friends or past lovers.
