Gingrich is certanly an asshole deserving of contempt, but this kind of symbolic silliness is counter-productive. I appreciate the motivation, but the act was foolish. Civil society, which despite its flaws is a FANTASTIC thing when it's approximately working like in the USA, requires challenging folks like Gingrich vigorously, but civilly. On top of that, this undermines the seriousness with which your complaints will be viewed by others (and it's the others who matter - Newt is a lost cause).
