This is probably my favorite performance of "Murder Inc." mostly because The Boss shows so much passion for what he does, and because it's the heaviest version I've ever heard. I better not hear or read someone sayin' that this man can't play! Rock on Bruce!
I kinda half agree with davidstrat. Nils is obviously the best guitarist up on stage...if not THE best. Bruce is a better guitarist than people give him credit for. The solos on "Adam Raised a Cain" and "Lost in the Flood" are all Bruce. I am skeptical of Steven's abilities though, I need to hear him more.
That's what I also mean, people think only Nils can play the guitar, but Bruce has some solos that are amazing. Check "because the night" in Passaic opening solo, sickkkkk! y'all Boss' fans, take care and peace!
I like how Max starts the song when he thinks Bruce is ready. Meanwhile Nils is still shredding, then what blows my mind after bruce yells 1 2 3 4 They bust into the song peffectly. Fucking Brilliant!!
He is regarded as one of the most mothercukingest guitarists on the planet. Those who love kicass, balls-to-the-wall, absolute wailing blasting those strings off, they know Bruce is you boy. 'Nuff said.
People help me out here. I've got to admit that after watching this whole NYC concert, I kinda like Bruce's guitar solos, but is he regarded as a good guitarist? or just a great songwriter and frontman?
@LoveHeartLogicHead You are right, boss. This takes the cake from the others. What a continuation of the song from Youngstown to this one. Am from India and first heard Bruce in late 70's, point blank. Living in USA visiting New York couple of times a year and listening to Bruce all the time, specially near Times square while smoking a doobie!!!!!!!! OOPS.
@crazymetalhead9999, Yup, this is the best of the best I have heard from Bruce whom I have been listening since early 80's in India. Landed in New York city in 1982 and being there it always reminded me of him. A soul stirring jamming in this one. Puts me on fire.
I've seen Bruce Springsteen in concert 3 times in my life. Everytime I leave the show I feel exhausted because I get tired just watching the effort the entire band puts in the show!
Part of what makes this kick ass is that everyone gets a spotlight. Clarence gets a great sax solo, Nils gets a solo, Steve totally rocks out, Bruce gets a solo, Max is pounding away...totally f---ing awesome!! This is by far the superior version of this great tune.
Ahh you lucky bugger! they got sold out pretty fast didn't they?
Yeah i'm in the uk so they havn't gone on sale here yet. I think a big group of me and my family are goin though - we always manage to get tickets somehow.
I wish to go back in time and see at least on show from each tour Bruce has done. I've sadly only seen one show (Oslo, Magic Tour)but it was a great concert
I fucking LOVE Bruce and E Street. By far the greatest concert you could ever have the pleasure of seeing. He puts on such an amazing show that always has so much energy and is just fun in general. Anyone see him in Giants Stadium this past week? Nothing is like seeing him in Jersey.
Springsteen always gives it his all, and it shows on stage. I saw him last week in Atlanta, and his love for what he does is evident. Whereas most artists do the minimum and get off state as fast as possible, Springsteen hung around ten or fifteen minutes after he was finished playing just working the crowd. You would've thought it was his last show and he'd never perform again. Pretty amazing.
everyone in that performance was amazing Bruce and The E Street Band at their best Steve Van Zandt's Solo was my favorite it was extremely soulful and Freakin Powerful. AMAZING SO MUCH ENERGY!!!!!!
I LOVE THIS SONG!!! I found it on Songfacts, and after reading the lyrics and falling in love with that, I decided to listen to the song itself. My dad is a big fan of Bruce Springsteen, but oddly enough, he isn't very familiar with this song. I like Bruce too, but I wouldn't say that he's one of my favorite artists. I love Clarence on the sax but I wish Bruce would solo more. Check out prove it all night extended intro... Bruce is a very talented guitarist-- he should really show it off more. I understand he is more of a singer/songwriter and a damn good one at that but I would love to see him play a little more lead guitar.
