@theresina123 Are you serious ..what's with the ignorance for all that privilege you're enjoying in the North...you should at least release yourself from that sickening ignorance....Who sent you to the North...somebody standing at the Jagan airport barring re-entry...lmao..i tell yuh these people...anyhoo
this music need a real push with indian instrument. fuck this, i love, dholak, tabla, tambura, bangla chori, tamborin, gonghoro,,,,,,,,,, daaaamm it to hell!!
@hameshachaha This music needs non of the aforementioned to taint it's authenticity ..why don't you do us a favor and post the ones you favor..lets all get to enjoy.
ha ha -- conversing with you is almost akin to playing chess with a clay pigeon but this seems to be fun - so let's see if I clear up that dark cloud in your mind that seems to be pregnant with self imposed confusion. The man's major accomplishments can be as much a tribute as to what he did not do as to what he actually did. I have already attested to those facts t but no doubt you will be preoccupied now with the insults instead just as a puerile mind should be. lol
@whiteliketar Point proven! Your emotional issues runs far deeper than one could have imagined. Your use of the dictionary is admirable if u were 5yrs old which would explain why u can't even demonstrate the most basic elements of an argument. The logic of your complex mind would certainly perplex Einstein. I will save you any further hurt and humiliation by ending this futile discussion, u are unable to answer a question any "simple minded Guyanese" can answer without dictionary or Wikipedia
Could we please stop talking about race and politics and just enjoy the music and celebrate our culture regardless of race, creed and political affiliation.

Remember that it is the unsung heroes of our culture who kept our past alive like Wordsworth McAndrew,Ken Crosbie,Aunty Olga Lopes,Bertie Chancellor,Ishri Singh,Pat Cameron, and those too numerous to remember and mention, our rich and diverse culture is a rare treasure to keep forever and to pass on to our kids who do not know and fathom how lucky we are.thanks,Remember Guyana day show at York College NY on May 15th. 2011,(FREE- FREE) is the key word for all you Guyanese and friends,
I am fed up with the hypocrisy that I encounter in Guyana with those who criticise Burnham when their ideology is no different. Guyana still had opposition party under Burnham. Cuba is a ONE party state, dissidents are routinely jailed.
@whiteliketar What is your point? In the US the president is given 4yrs to make his accomplishment. In Canada the Prime Minister is given 4yrs. In Jamaica those criminals stay as long as they want and accomplish nothing
He was in power for 5yrs, so what are his accomplishments? Just the facts please. Don't tell me his only success is having an air port named after him because that does not help the country.
@Lephayne perhaps i should cut your legs off and demand that you prepare for a marathon in 5 years. In any case here's one you can you can stew on but you might not like it. He didn't take revenge and inflame race hatred and start arming indian groups and in addition black folk in the civil service, the police and the army all kept their jobs and keep getting fairly large pay increases.Jagan although naive was pretty much on the same level with Mandela and other greats.
@whiteliketar According to your line of argument, it seems as if you believe he was ordained by God to be the President of Guyana and therefore he should have been leading it from birth. I am not trying to be frasticious at all, but he has the same right as any of the over seven hundred thousand Guyanes who if they desire to run for President know that it is not guareanteed nor is it ordained by God that they must be president because they desire the office.
@Lephayne I am not sure you quite understand the politics of that time period. The CIA and even Britain's secret service were instrumental in overthrowing Jagan's legitimate government and then encouraging massive electoral fraud that kept Jagan out. The USA was absolutely paranoid about letting another socialist pro-soviet government come to power in its sphere of influence. You sound simple-minded but then again most Guyanese are not astute folk when it comes to politics and world affairs.
@whiteliketar LET THE WORLD PAY HOMAGE TO THE ONLY GUYANESE WITH A COMPLEX MIND. If your mind is so complex and astute (unlike most simple minded Guyanese), why haven't you answered the original question as yet. Your complex mind sound like a disgrunted politician who didnt get to be President. Instead of answering the question, you look for reasons to justify ineptitude. The American's had nothing to do with the five years he had to do something. A 5 yr old Guyanese child could give an answer.
@Lephayne - see how childlike you are acting now - your feelings are hurt because I called you out on your one track mind and you start typing in bold and acting indignant . I tried to give an answer in context and lay a frame work to aid your obivious shallow understanding of politics but you keep going circular on me. If you feel a 5 year old could feed your pre-suppositions and obivious bias then be my guest.
@whiteliketar It seems you have some personal mental issues u need to get resolved (most likely related to racism). You are the one who started the name calling. You are illustrating your ignorance by failing to substantiate your claim. Now stop beating around the bush and answer the question? What did he do in the five years that he was President. Name calling and derogatory will not distract me from the answer. No need to lay out a frame work to con here. keep it simple for us simple minded.
@whiteliketar Politics is dirty business and there is no "honest politician". They all make dirty backroom deals that suit there own purposed (power, greed) while lying to their constituents and at the end of their term they only have excuses to offer for not accomplishing anything that would benefit the country, yet a half of the countries resources has been sold out to foreign interest for nothing while they ride off to some distant land to retire leaving us worst off.

What did the other leader ever do for the nation as a whole? Not his race, but for the country as whole nation.
Please list his accomplishments.
Lephayne 8 months ago
@Lephayne it's pretty disingenious to ask for a list of his accomplishments when he was forced out of power and kept out of power for over 30 years.
