alright guys. when the hydra were to fight enemies, it looks as sick as hell, but when it was to be you and you get killed by it, you'd be confused as hell. i mean, how do you die in first person like that? Also, there was difficulty for coding because it doesnt have many limbs and has to melee attack you. It just reachs out for you and then stabs you to the ground. What happens when it takes you down? Just got cut out after that.

don't forget the hydra is meant to be in enclosed spaces like snakes, so what valve could've done is put the hydras under things like in highway 17 they could've put them under the highway and it shows the glitchy part under the highway.

no it drops you and attacks the next victim....you do know that it sucks the lifer force (litteraly thats how it feeds! OMFG) then drops you till ya nothing and attacks the next thing that move's...... besides other hydra's or itself ._.

Guys, the combine should maybe rappel in but the hydra quickly stab him through the back while he's rappeling, It should've been in the hl2 retail cuz then it could help you instead of the antlions with a certain food item like bugbait.

your both wrong. a stalker is a rebel used by the combines. it had all its organs stripped out of there body and replaced it with machinery. they use them as tools. they have lazers shoot out of there eyes as an attack. hope i helped.

I thought I read somewhere that The combine pretty much turn all suitable captured Rebels into Combine Soldiers/Elite. Stalkers are the rebels that aren't suitable for the Combine surgery. They're pretty much used for maintenance etc. around the Citidel. I could be wrong though so don't flame me if I am.

run hl2.exe or is it to hard to know that you must run the .exe, and the pc might have no problem, some maps that where showed at E3 have more details and high graphics, try the beta for your self and then talk turkey

Standard Civil Protection Units are humans.

Soldiers are slightly modified humans, modified for combat purposes.

Elite Soldiers are only about 2% human from so many modifications.

That's bullshit! Loading a map that doesn't work won't screw your hard disk up, impossible.

Just run the maps in hammer, maybe convert a few props and you're done.

Really though, the only good thing about the beta is that the dialog is different than the final game, just a little. And there's a map where you can fight stalkers (devtest.map).

it's not the beta, but a mod that has the beta models and textures and weapons. it's as close as you will probably get.

the beta is very glitchy and not as much fun as one may think.
