This may sound like a dumb question but when you're using your Saiga 12 in all these matches what kind of ammo are you using? Bird shot, turkey loads, buck shot or rifled slugs?
this match was all bird shot, we mostly use bird shot and some slugs. Once in a while buckshot is used, but most matches prohibit it because it puts excessive wear on the steel targets.
80 rounds fired from drum total at the match counting team shoot. 2 malfunction 2.5% Failure rate. I'm willing to tolerate it for now because they are easy enough to clear and faster than a reload. More the one malf per drum though is worse than a reload though.
I am looking at getting the Saiga 12 ga. and have seen alot of comments about problems loading the clips. There are solutions, and some peole say that once you get used to it, they are not hard to load. Did you do anything special to help you in competition (filing, polishing etc.) or did you just have to get the hang of pushing them in with "foward" pressure.
thanks for your input. It is worth a lot coming from someone who "uses" their gun for more than a safe queen. I get a kick out of gun owners on youtube opening their new saiga, rambling on about the "goodness" of their gun, wondering what the hell is this bottle opener for (choke key), and highly recommending the gun based there very limited and useless experiences.
i like how no one mentioned the machete or sword used and "1000 years of pain" lol what was that about?

Looks like the drum has a 5% malf rate. Think it will increase with use?
