i remember once when we were both playing the wii. i was playing as tails. and Em_lost was sonic, on Aquatic ruin boss.
basicly what happened is Sonic hit robotnik and defeaded him, as the Totem poles were goin down. i was stuck in midair. not moving an inc. it was quite an unique. glitch too lol..
You can either get on it by moving quickly to one side as they rise, or use an arrow as a platform... The arrows fall away if you take too long or jump so best be quick about it.

If you want to see the credits, look for a Sonic 2 TAS (Tool Assisted Speed Run) They have the credits on the end.
Love the vid. The music is absolutely awesome. You really showed Dr Robotnik who is boss. Great performance there particually on the Death Egg bosses. Shame about the disaster on Hill Top. I never found that Robotnik to hard. Other than that a really good run.
At the time of Screen recording, I was experimenting with "water marking" I took a picture of myself and put it in, What it did from there was found the edges and embossed it onto the video. Seemed to work quite well if you ask me :) I've grown tired of watermarking now, So I don't do it any more.
dude i never thought of doin the spin attack on metal sonic....thats actually cool now as for the hilltop boss -_-; ya lol i think that ones easy but i dunno i have a hard time with the boss that has the egg things around him
Final boss can be done much faster (After the first time he flies) by hitting under the arms at the black part as much as possible before he moves, then hitting the chest, but the video was good anyway ^.^;
Actually, I've just downloaded this game for my Wii on Virtual console so if you want, I can attempt to recreate this boss rush video and see if I do any better :) My Camera is limited so there'd be no game sound nor any luck of it being steady/squared up.

Slow? Of many cases of "Slowness" It's mainly staying alive. I admit the deaths were lame. But think about it... This movie was made 1 year ago (9 days to go) I might re-do this rush in a free day.
Ahh yes, Unfortunately at the time I didn't have P2 set up at the time thus voiding any effort to do so.
I show some deaths to prove I'm not cheating. I wasn't aiming for an all time speed record.
I would have used the boss music but the music/soundeffects go out of sync after a while and therefore sound awful. The best way to go was the OCRemixes.
For sonic 3, Natch, I might just look into Debugging the old fashioned way (Game-Shark, Game-Geine etc, etc) I've also been spending alot of time working on other projects so I havn't had time to Make Videos. I'll see what comes over the Pipeline.
Responce to both msgs: Indeed Number 5 (Egg Lava Thrower) is a relitively easy boss to complete. However after my losses in that I was on fire for 6 and made it perfect, However have never been able to recreate that. As for Boss 8 being used in other Sonic games, I can't say I've seen it. How in ever, It was great hearing from another sonic fan...
its simple you can have as many goes as you want doing the code and the only main bits are doing the code when on the vine selectingsound test and holding down a and let go when you have selected the act

now when you have selected sound test hold down a unti you have selected the level now your in debug:)press a to to flip sonic upside down if you do that sonic will flot up to the top of the screen press d to jump and s to start debuging when in debug press a to change the item and d to place it.when you want to exit debug press s
do a no save game go to the rock with a vine above it and jump so you are holding the vine then press right 3 times left 3 times and up 3 times you will here a ring now press enter and then press a to go to the title screen then press down 2 times to see a option labeled sound test(level select) now select it
do this code in a emulater so you understand what i mean when i say a s and d.and do the code on sonic 3 and knuckles.the next coment will start the code

theres a glich on the 3rd boss keep sonic on top of 1 of the paplers and have a 2nd player kill robotinck and when the paplers go down sonic will flot until you jump

Three points I'd like to make
1) Tails can be controlled with 2P. If nothing more, you could have him stand clear of you and out of your way.
2)It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to show some deaths, but not all of them. Hide them all or show them all.
3) Old-school music sounds better old-school then with new-age instruments and crap.
Pretty good run though. You beat Metal Sonic, and quickly at that. Thanks for showing me how. :D

Well truth being told, the video was actually longer to start with had 6 attempts at death egg.
I am sure i could do one life all the way through, but the last one is a real pain in the backside to rush.
I am more than happy to see people trying to beat my time. (The Video Responce to this does well but dosn't have death egg on it.)

It's admittedly the second hardest you see before you... The Giant Robotic Robotnik is the hardest to perfect for speed run purposes. (NO RINGS)
Point taken I might try a no damage boss rush next time....

Not with a bit of tactic.... Arrows only hurt you while in motion, when they are stuck they make excellent platforms.
Amazingly Hill Tops's Boss took the longest completion time (from first scene to capsule destroyed)

I realise with time issues I had to go directly into the rush. I do also comment on killing Tails.
Constructive yet destructive :)
I might consider making my Comment font colour different because it's hard to read at some points.
Emerald Hill (Boss1) has the intro pasted over the top of it (Subtitle Section)
I admit my music choice was prolly a little bit off...
