  • I have one :)

  • Great Demo!

  • at 2:24 ass kicking raw analogue sound. Pure power :)

  • i have 4 synths of these. inside my mind

  • Nice sounds. TERRIBLE "songs".

  • wow at 1200 bucks for this i think its worth

  • I love that sound!

  • Jimmy Sommerville & Mark Almond / Yesterday !!!!! :-) Gay Sound like at its Best !!!!

  • well done .....

  • the drums are off - not i feel love. nice try.

  • @4manzy you jealous?

  • @4manzy Mr. Moroder couldn't make it. You have the closest analog. DANCE.

  • I´ll buy it !!

  • This makes me want to smuggle hash outta Turkey!

  • well done

  • lovely sound from this synth

What's the diff between this and the prophet 5? I know the 5 is polyphonic, and this is probably a lot earlier.

IN terms of functionality though.. what's the difference?

  • @emmetor

the sound is a bit different and the Pro-1 has Arpeggiator and Step Sequencer

  • @emmetor The Prophet Five was actually released prior to this. The Pro~One was built to be a cheap one voice alternative to the Prophet Five. As retro said, it has a forty night sequencer and up/updown arpeggiator. While the sound is different, imo it's the closest to a Prophet Five in the Prophet line.

  • @emmetor The circuits were identical but effectively 5 of them on the Prophet 5.

  • I craying, lovely ;-)

  • I craying, lovely ;-)

  • Doesn't sound like I feel love to me.

  • We still have our Pro-One !

How many tones could you programme in the Sequenser? 32 ?

And they were divided by Seq 1 and Seq 2 !

'I remember when playing live and reprogramming between songs the new bass lines.. those were the days.

Often the first tone got triggered when you turned on the Sequenser, so you had to learn to record the last note FIRST, then the rest, to get it right.. well well

  • thats a really nice sequence

  • Close to the original ... but don't call it " i feel love" .....

  • I feel love...

    ...with this synth. ;)

    this is no cover song!

  • haha :)

  • @retrosound72 If you don't want people to make the comparison , you shouldn't give it the same name.

I don't know how the Pro-1 relates to the Prophet-600 in terms of functionality and price, but I like the second one more I guess.

  • @zozzona71 anal

  • Uuaaaa Nice OnE!

  • Lovely ;-)

  • remember, I feel love is two different bass tracks played together

  • what notes are u using for that song

  • hello, I would know how it is possible to transpose like you do just by playing a key. where does the sequence come from ?

  • you can transpose the sequence

  • is it possible to do that with any cv gate synth ?

  • not with any synth

  • it has an little inbuilt sequencer...

  • THE GROOVE IS TO THE INVERSE ONE!!!

  • I need expert advice please! I'm looking for a cheap-ish keyboard (something like the MicroKorg price range) that would give me this kind of fat bass, moog-ish sound... Can anyone suggest anything? Ideally something I could use with Ableton Live, and as a regular keyboard for gigs. Help!

  • SX1000's are pretty cheap but they need retrofitting to work with Ableton

  • Alesis Micron, it's about as close as VA's get to the "real" sound. Way better than the MicroKorg. Also if you have a midi keyboard, look for a used Evolver on eBay, I just got one and it's amazing, there's nothing quite like real analog!

  • my suggestion is to have a bassstation rack and a cheap novation keyboard controller

its not analog but its quite deep for its price. there is the keyboard version of the bass station but i dunno if its midi

  • Yeah. The MicroKorg.

  • If you're using Ableton, why not just stick with VST's and get a cheap-ass midi controller?

  • You are kidding, right?

  • Not kidding at all. I think he should start small and save up for something decent in a higher price range.

  • Like the guy said, the Jen Synthetone SX1000 is great. Bought one myself and though it has limited functionality, it's cheap. Can be recorded as an audio source if you don't wish to fork out for the extra for a MIDI retrofit, and I love mine!

  • I mean you are asking for a lot in that price range, but you could look at something like the DSI Mopho, which is in a way sort of a modern Pro One (I know, I know its not a Pro One but it is real analog! Chill your jets with a flame war). But, it is just a desk top module and you will need a controller keyboard to play it.

  • microkorg

  • cool

  • interesting- flange is pretty cool too.

    Thanks. :)

  • oh mann, du bist schuld das ich mir jetzt einen Pro one kaufen will :(

  • :)

Daran will ich gerne schuld sein. Den Kauf wirst du nicht bereuen, das verspreche ich dir.

  • retrosound: Das is zher Gute! Si sind ein er...fabulous! Now, please post the settings you used on the AWESOME pro one so that I wom't have to spend an hour trying to 'dial them in'...

    :)

  • Nice music for race footage or a really cool platform type game. :o)#

  • I'd love to hear your cover of "Chase" soon.

  • Interesting clip. . .

I like flanging and phasing effects from the '70's and it was even fun just jamming a square wave into a parametric and fiddling the dials / sliders... I built and designed a bit of my own audio (and other) electronics... including lots of active filters...and P.A.s

  • Wow.. sounds nice... reminds me of "Divine - Shoot your Shot" ;)

  • thx :)

  • Which, after all, isn't all that surprising considering that Shoot your Shot was very inspired by I feel love - only 5 years AFTER Giorgio Moroder's masterpiece:)

  • Yup... another cool demo. And yes... this one sounds really good on my studio monitors too. Hmm... I just might do a Korg Mono/Poly demo. Unless ypu beat me to it. ;)

  • ganz gut!! Ich mag sehr viel Donna Summer. Vielleicht du kannst ein bisschen singen mit diese lied. Tschüss

  • lieber nicht :)

  • yet another quality demo, i want one of these awesome machines, thank you for posting.

  • thx :)

  • i have one of these which i swapped for a delay pedal about 15 yrs ago because the person who had it did not know how to use it and thought he got a good deal

  • Unreal ,.,This first note actually shakes the room ,.I am using an older JBL LSR series 8 " / 1' tweet. This piticular you tube clip was recorded very well. Not your average sound ,.at least to me. Its just more than the synth cuz I have a Moog.

  • Awesome equip and video/beats. Keep up the great work.

  • thanks :)

  • Wonderful..Absolute magic sounds Marko!

    Best wishes..G

  • thank you Graeme :)

  • class as usual, like it !!!

  • thank you

  • i love this synth

  • I too :)

  • mpravo mate...great job

    my greetings...

We all love Dave Smith(SCI) don't we???

    cheers

  • super tight ;-)

  • OOOoooooooh... I feel love I feel love I feel love, I Feeeeeeeel love .... I feel lo o o ove. Love it :)

  • Love your vids man!!So i'm looking for the phattest analog synth and i'm down to 4:juno 60,sh101, sq pro-one and mopho.I think pro one is the best,How about the mopho?By the way i produce music on the lines of DAF,NITZER EBB.What do you think. Thanks!!

  • the Pro-One is my favorite bass synth and the Juno-60 my fav analog polysynth. DAF and Nitzer Ebb used also the Odyssey

  • Sounds like almost every 80's movie soundtrack! LOL! Love it!!! Awesome stuff!

  • thank you

  • So reminds me of recording in Pittsburgh around 1982-3 using the 808 and the 'Shmoe'- what we called the Pro-1.

We recorded in a re-worked barbeque shack-hot in summer, cold in winter, The gear always held up though.

  • hah yeah Moroder stylea!

  • awesome

  • thx :)

  • Oooof! juicy! Sequential Circuits did some lovely synths. DCO and digital synths just don't have the same body.

    Thanks for this, retrosound72.

  • thank you

  • awesome as usual :)

    cheers man!

  • thx a lot

  • also sounds a bit like T,dream

  • a little bit :)

  • Thats one of the only synths ive seen that looks like it sounds - dark and BEEFY!

  • yes dark is the right word...

  • that's disco from the 70's.

    donna summer and others.

  • Yes

Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder (but with ARP2600)

  • Totally agree one of the best monophonics out there. Wonderful filters. Good demo as always!

  • thank you :)

  • Love the sounds!! Sounds so dark and so early 80's!! Great!! +5

  • thx :)
