Since we're being gouged by Canadian Mitsu dealers, try getting a quote for your overpriced new Lancer Evo '08 from your insurance broker... What a joke!!!
the evo that is coming to canada is not made in canada. its directly from the land of the rising sun, japan. i work in mitsubishim, and im the one who do the pdi on these cars so i know. if you guys want to know more about the car, pls do ask.
sup man, i am good at drifting, and i've drifted in a impreza and a skyline before. I really want to buy this car, cause i have the money to soop it up. I was wondering how well it can drift.
This car IS coming to Canada. The reason the previous one didn't make it to Canada was because of safety issues, I think it was something to do with the Crash test rating...but don't quote me on that.
the evo x is available off the lot in canada, they aren't shipping them from the states. they're made in canada, just like most other cars. most of you idiots don't even realise, almost ALL of the "asian" cars like civics, yaris, celica, accord etc... are all MADE in canada, then Shipped to the USA.
Over priced, it is now on the verge of 6 star car status at a 4 star appearance and quality. Have you ever visited a local Canadian Mitsubishi dealer? It is like going to a Kia dealer where the salesmen used to sell appliances the day before and don't know squat about the cars they are selling. Definately not a place I would want to get my mid $50,000 car serviced.
yeah ok but since canada sucks, you wont be able to import it because they changed some security stuff in purpose so that peoples cant import cars from the states that were made after 07...
Oh man okay after watching it all, this Evo is expensive! It'll be a whole lot cheaper to import it from the US still. 41000 for base model and MR Premium 51000. That a crap load more than US prices. The price should've been closer seeing how our dollar is practically the same.
Except the US warranty is not valid in Canada plus the cost of shipping it to cnada then the customs fees and out of country vehicle inspection costs (thank the government for those). Oh, and also you have to pay CASH for the car in the states--you can't lease or finance a US car living in canada.
If you drive it up yourself it's actually not that expensive and quite worth the trip. You get the sales taxes back when you cross the border, and you just pay the GST when your cross, then the PST when you enter register your licence. You save well over $5000. Getting a certified loan for the full amount isn't hard either.
Good point, but how much is a warranty worth on a car like that? It's probably pretty expensive if you end up having to pay for stuff yourself on a car like that?

Please... why don't you go back to shopping for your Magentis and run along. On second thought, it sounds like it may be too much car for you...
If you want to go pay for a dealership, then do so but discrening customers would rather pay for the car.
