Then the senior flight club guy, decided to take it all apart, but now we have to pay to get someone to put it all back together.
Ofp2 IS NOT a run and gun game, you CANT run and gun if you PLAY PROPERLY, anyone can run and gun on any game, i cna run and gun on arma2 its alot easier than on ofpdr, if you play hardcore and tacticly like you would on arma2 or any other tactical realism game it its a great game.
Arma2 and Ofp:DR ar alot differnet, this may be because there based in 2 compleatly different parts of the world. So why do people get surpirsed when its differnet from arma2 it would be. Play properly and harcore.

you're right DR runs fine on POS computers. Arma2 will run fine on anything Dual Core and 2.65Ghz and XP. you know, stuff made within the last 2-3 years.

The biggest thing is they have not shown anything really of the game's core substance and from what I have seen it looks like they are taking the original OFP/ArmA concept and making it more twitch gamer friendly. With ArmA2 we already know what to expect. So I conclude that since it looks like an ArmA clone but they said it would be different I can only guess it will be COD4 based on an engine similair to ArmAs. So they aren't doing anything new.

Actually, I think this is going to be far more real than Arma. At least I hope it is. I think many things in Arma are a joke. If it isn't, well, I'll just wait until a real sim like DCS: Black Shark brings playable infantry soldiers into their sim.
If you think about it, all games are a joke in some manner or another, it is what makes them games. Sims like DCS are great but ultra realism doesn't sell millions of copies like more dumbed down versions, so in the end, it is a financial decision by the developers.
If you want an ultra realistic infantry experience, grab a gun and sit staring out your window in 12hr shifts while wearing a 50lb vest and turn the heat all the way up in the summer time.

there are dumbed down versions of games like battlefield bad company, but they are for 10 -12 year olds. thats why you find the average age for players in COD4 to be about 25. I do believe there are games for kids and adults.

We want realism in terms of physics, Object interaction with player and being authentic to what its like in real life. The point of games is to experience something lifelike that most people will never experience in their lives.
It wasn't an argument, that is reality. What you want is your imagined version of reality, which is all a game is. The point of games is to be entertained, not to mimic life. The purpose of simulations is to mimic reality but the ultimate limitation is the players themselves. You cannot experience anything close to the real thing in a game and it is difficult to get players to behave realistically as well.

ArmA II is planned to be on console also. I've been a fan of BIS Since Operation Flashpoint 1. So I'm sticking to BIS (ArmA and ArmA II). Although I will try OFP2 just to see how faithfull codemasters have made it.
me too, I was a big fan of OFP 1. though I never really got used to Arma, the aiming was weird, I did not adopt that game. I just did not geta along with AI, the models were too slim, it just did not feel realistic... (I havent checked mod's though) fact is that I like ofp1 more than arma. Now I am really interested how OFP 2 will be. Is it a new product focused for consoles (more arcade) or you can still modify everything in 3ds Max, that was my favourite part of OFP 1

if you want more than 64, the individual will loose the oppurtunity to affect the tide of the war, but there is 1 game doing it, MAG (massive action game). 100 players is the absolute max in my opinion.

It needs to be more than 64 players mulitplayer. I hear reports of 16 v 16 with 256 bots roaming around...not good. BF2 introduced 64 player online play back in 2005 and we're all still waiting for a game to offer 128 or more... :(
Uh, if you want crappy graphics for more players, then you can have it. Have you played Frontlines with 64? It sucks and lags terribly. 24 per side is the max without running into problems. It's true. Why can't you be happy with limits?

It's also been confirmed the game IS NOT open world...
Co-op has a 175 metre tether.,... you die if you stray too far.
Muliplayer you can only play on 2 x 2 square kilolmetre areas.... again you die if you travel outside of the invisible wall..
If you have played Battlefield then you know that that is.....

are there respawns??? because if there are not it could pose a problem because you drive 2hrs show up and get shot in about 2 minuits

I think there is going to be respawns in big mission. But in like 6 player coop, there will be no respawns

ArmA II is planned to be on console also. I've been a fan of BIS Since Operation Flashpoint 1. So I'm sticking to BIS (ArmA and ArmA II). Although I will try OFP2 just to see how faithfull codemasters have made it.

me too, I was a big fan of OFP 1. though I never really got used to Arma, the aiming was weird, I did not adopt that game. I just did not geta along with AI, the models were too slim, it just did not feel realistic... (I havent checked mod's though) fact is that I like ofp1 more than arma. Now I am really interested how OFP 2 will be. Is it a new product focused for consoles (more arcade) or you can still modify everything in 3ds Max, that was my favourite part of OFP 1

so their aim is that it has to be playable on PC, PS3... I have nothing against consoles but if you want to have fun with realistic feeling, pc feels better for me, console just makes it a shooter(you cant sit too much still behind TV)... but is it meant to be simulator?
probably they have ready made war plans for console users, like templetes. and I hope pc users can still have some fun scripting and bringing models from 3ds max to the game.

guys, this game could literally have the potential to be the best shooting game ever made in history. 70 infantry weapons with even more add ons!!!!!! and like 50 vehicles and shit, ground, air, and sea, absoultley awesome. and what other game has a map 4 hours long!!!!!! i bet they arnt saying all of it obviously, but i think there will be a nuke involved:)

if you want more than 64, the individual will loose the oppurtunity to affect the tide of the war, but there is 1 game doing it, MAG (massive action game). 100 players is the absolute max in my opinion.

It needs to be more than 64 players mulitplayer. I hear reports of 16 v 16 with 256 bots roaming around...not good. BF2 introduced 64 player online play back in 2005 and we're all still waiting for a game to offer 128 or more... :(

Uh, if you want crappy graphics for more players, then you can have it. Have you played Frontlines with 64? It sucks and lags terribly. 24 per side is the max without running into problems. It's true. Why can't you be happy with limits?
