  • Thats one very smooth nice sounding engine, I like this... :-)

  • Thanks....shortly after this video the coil packed in at a rally and I had to get it rewound....she now starts first swing, even in sub zero.

  • I Like Those Start Ups of Your Engines R U getting any more Sooner or later

  • Cheers :)

When I get another shed then I will get some more engines.....

I will be leaving school to work after this year, the sixth form aint for me....when I have a place of my own I may invest in some more engines :) It may be a while yet....

    Phill :)

  • ~ Difficulty in starting is due to a breaking down coil. A new condensor and coil will be fitted soon ~

  • I am glad to see someone else using one of those hand-rag dynomometers like I use to load the engine.

  • Yes, there's great precision involved here!

  • Youve done a great job painting it. Runs well too.

  • Thank you, I put the fuel tank back on yesterday after painting and so the engine is finished. I have some wood to build a trolley so it should be out at rallys next month.

  • @steamwally Cool. Hopefully i see it around sometime.

  • Youve done a great job painting it. Runs well too.

  • nice work, runs well.

  • Thanks, I'm just going to put another coat of paint on the fuel tank, one more after that and she'l be ready to rally.

  • Hmmm

runs soooo sweetly, I'm tempted, very tempted to get one as my next engine

also, can you continually crank these , or does the handle fly out

    Andrew

  • Thanks Andrew, they are great engines. You can't crank continuosly but it should start by one good swing on the handle! It will fly out and get you otherwise, but don't let that put you off.

    Cheers,

    Phill.

  • Great work!, she looks and runs nice!

  • Thanks, she's going to be mounted on a nice oak trolley, I'm buying the wood today hopefully.

    Phill.

  • Thats looking Great Phill. Well done. I just hope mine looks as good as that when ive finished with it.

  • Thanks Angus, it's not finished yet but almost there!

I look foward to seeing your PB, it has had much more work than mine saw.

    Phill.

  • Runs good!!

  • She sure does!

  • Nice Ruston an Hornsby engine. Looks fine and sounds good.

  • Thanks! She should be finished the next time I video the engine.

  • Thumbs up for that engine !

  • Cheers! Iv'e just painted the exhuast and put a first coat on the tank, she's coming togeher now.

  • Runs well, great work

    many thanks

    Ollie

  • Cheers!

  • Awesome job Phill, That thing looks great!! Runs good too. We don't see any Ruston's over here in the States

  • Thanks mate! Did they export these to the USA? It looks quite similar to the INT LA to me.

    Many thanks,

    Phill.

  • @steamwally I've never seen one over here. I have an INT LA, They have a similar shape but they have alot of differences. The LA is a little simpler design. My Nephew has a video of mine on his channel. Check him out, his user name is: RACER4560

  • Just had a look at your LA, very nice engine and runs very well. I supose the only difference to the PB is that it's over head valve.

  • great phil almost thier!

  • Thanks Dan,

Just painted the exhaust and a first coat on the fuel tank. My mate Elliot has made me a brass fuel tank cap too so that will look good.

    Phill.
