I loved the book and the film.

so I hated this movie a lot...when I first read the book I called dibs for making it into a movie, because I had a feeling people would make it really stupid...that is onless Tim Burton directed it, which he didn't . therefore it was not as dark and creepy as it was suppose to be. and the animation was stupid. that computer crap...please. It's way more of a hand drawn cartoon movie....but nobody does that anymore :/

I havn't read the book, however, i think the film was a bit of a let down.

I mean, the animation was nice and the storyline was basic, but the thing is...i just found it a bit bland and it all just looks all too farmiliar. It's not the worst film i've seen, it was ok...but it could have done better.

Despereaux is sooooo cute in ther movie!!!! In school we just got done reading the book it is a little different from the movie. In the book Roscurro was fat and ugly in the movie he is skinny lol but the was an AWESOME movie and the book is rlly good too.

It was a cute movie, don't get me wrong, however, compared to the book, it was rather disappointing...it could have been better...I think it would have been better to stick to Roscuro coming from the dungeon. It would've been more dramatic coming into the light. And Mig's father wasn't supposed to feel sorry- that way it would've been more emotional, her story. Not to mention they should've kept the oneshot part where Desperaux imagines talking to a mysterious knight. That's my opinion.

disneyjasmine i extremely agree with you on this i have readthe book to and roscuro never came from a boat? i mean wtf! he came from the dungeon with boticualli and the cook was a big fat woman! not a man! also the princess di argue with the king that he was a mouse not a bug and her dad was nearsighted so he didnt see all to well mig took her to the dungeon because mig wanted to be the princess but roscuro had other ideas and whats up with the cat? and the school i never seen that in the book!

And..... why was Desperaux saying that they should be brave? Throughout the whole book the author STRESSED AND STRESSED at how tiny and scared Desperaux was of things. He fainted at loud noises, and he was very very sickly. This Desperaux sounds like the LIKELY HERO. The REAL Desperaux was a true unlikely hero. This does not follow the book correctly at all.... dangit....

The "rats" have taken the princess? No, no, no. Miggery Sow and ROSCURO FROM THE DUNGEON, NOT A FRIGGIN BOAT took the princess. The rats just laughed. And why was she on a rolling cart thing? No, no, Miggery Sow had a knife and told her to come. And Desperaux's voice..... no, no, no..... it's just too low, he was supposed to be a little squeaky mouse with big ears and a sweet personality. They've just..... ruined this book....
