Reasoably popular therory with scientists is that you can only go back in time to when the time machine was built, so if it was built today, you would not be able to go back any further than today. The reason is, is if someone wanted to change the past and went back in time and changed it, they would never of needed to go back and change it in the first place and therefore had no reason to go back and change it, nullifying the whole process and reason for doing it. When I was younger and watched the Fairly OddParents, I always thought it was impossible for him to wish something never happened because if he wished it never happened, it would never happen.
