I dunno. I'm a white guy. I had a tough upbringing. Between apartment evictions, I grew up sleeping in cars. I remember cooking toast on candles as a child because we only had bread to eat and didn't have electricity. I don't expect to be above of anyone. I was at one of the self-checkouts at my neighborhood grocery store, & a middle-aged white lady behind me asked if I could possibly hurry cause she was running late. My exact response was "no, I cannot, but what u can do is stand there & wait, like everyone else". The expression on her face was priceless, & a few people began snickering which made her feel all the more shitty. Long story short, their sense of entitlement means absolutely dick to the likes of me....

I am totally with you on this for real! I feel your pain and I am a black woman. I deal with this issue all the time. All day every day, with no breaks in between. No matter where I go there are haters there to hate. It drains you. Keep your head up. They are going to be jealous. And you are right. They are are insecure and truly feel threatened and powerless. How they feel about us is really showing because of the economy and stiff competition in salary in the workplace.

To other races, black people exist only to make them feel good in comparison. Anytime that mentality is directly challenged (like you have a good car and them having a beat up car), it tends to drive them nuts, mess up their world view, question their sense of self. The reason for this attitude is that a major part of White people's self esteem comes from being White. Black people provide a psychological service of sorts here in America. No matter what everyone can feel good about themselves because atleast they're not a n*gger. We have traditionally been the built in lower class. When we rise or do better it shakes up the supposed "natural order" of things.

At first I didn't even know who she was talking to, because we were parked in the parking spot JUST FINE. We weren't all the way out of the parking spot or anything else. The amount of anger in her voice was something else. She was just looking for any excuse to run her mouth because she was ANGRY that we pulled up beside them in a nice car.

@kuunami A car that was far better than what SHE was driving; which was some dusty suburban. When I hollered back at her she sped off. The same night, some young white girl rolled her eyes at my wife; because my wife is a pretty black girl. Those white and non-blacks are FULL of ENVY when they see a black person who they KNOW is potentially better than they are. They can't stand seeing it; and many of them will can get VICIOUS at the sight of it.
