I think it's worse when someone who's actually talented like Nas or Fab to do one of those "radio" singles than it is for Waka. If they dont make the radio single they run the risk of never being known and viewed on the scale they are now, i dont really know the answer for finding a way to change that, aside from these established artists creating their own, unselfish, content focused labels, that compete with the majors.

It's no longer about the passion of the game but just about the money these rappers swear they have(straight frontin). Artists heavy on articulate lyrical content have to present themselves to the public with another aspect of creativity. Depends on who they target audience is. Eminem, Jay Z, Outkast, Wu Tang (among others) have sold very well in the past. Luda is capable, skill wise, he does well. Depends on their marketing, and songs overall.

Nas for example..but for the most part it comes down to performing a few evils "makin radio hits" to get the funds and freedom to do shit how you truly wanna do it. Well nas said it best hip hop is dead. Yea these new rappers r making money the right way and more power to'em, but that's one major reason to why hip hop to me is dieing out. It's no longer about the passion of the game but just about the money these rappers swear they have(straight frontin). Hip hop now is for the simple minded people who don't wanna read between the lines wen listening to a good song. That's just my opinion.

Artists heavy on articulate lyrical content have to present themselves to the public with another aspect of creativity. Depends on who they target audience is. Eminem, Jay Z, Outkast, Wu Tang (among others) have sold very well in the past. Luda is capable, skill wise, he does well. Depends on their marketing, and songs overall.
