what the hell is the point of this vid? dont get me wrong it sounds great but i didnt get anything from watching it. was this supposed to be a lesson or a video letting u show off?
I basicly use a simple Behringer Vamp2 trhough a mixer unit right into the computer. With the first 2 videos the sound wasn't recorded by the camera, because the sound went right into the computer and I sincrinized it to the video. This video sound was recorded by a Panasonic 3CCD camera with the built in stereo microphone. The sound is coming from the computer's Yamaha MSP3 monitor speakers..
Hey pete, you pick real well. I am a rockabilly singer/guitarist/writer.....if you're interested in doing some joint-recording, let me know. I'm in USA, how bout you?
Hi Awesome playing. Do you learn from books Tabs? if so Which ones? -- I watched you other videos they are all perfect examples of amazing rockabilly playing.
Wow, I really like your playing! BTW, where did you get the backing-up track? Did you record it with your band? Would you like to share those play-along tracks with the community? I'd really like to have some double-bass slapping to play along! Good job, keep sharing these videos!
Another great video from you. I've learnt My Baby Left Me from this. I've just gotta remember to keep my thumb going on the bass strings, ha. Keep the videos coming.
well the neck profile is differnt (i actually prefer the ibanez neck, its a bit like a les paul the pup selector switch is in an odd place, and the pups are pretty weak. for half the price an average artcore is better than a cheap gretsch. and its still half the price.
ive had both ibanez artcore af75 and gretsch 5120. I only have the 5120 now if that tells you anything. the ibanez was a dam good guitar for $350!! I highly recommend it. I got my 5120 for $525 new out the door and its a nicer guitar all around except maybe the pups are weak but i put in tv jones classics & locking tuners & it sounds like it costs $1000.
Thats an awesome sound!

Which model Gretsch is that? Standard pickups? Which amp? Such a lovely sound ... better than a Telecaster.

How do you get that guitar to have that 'rockabilly' sound. Is it the guitar, Amp or Pedals. Names of any kit you are using please. Jim UK

How is your Gretsch in comparism to eg. an Ibanez AFS75T (beside the price)?
overcast68 4 years ago
well the neck profile is differnt (i actually prefer the ibanez neck, its a bit like a les paul the pup selector switch is in an odd place, and the pups are pretty weak. for half the price an average artcore is better than a cheap gretsch. and its still half the price.
BabyGravyDavy 4 years ago
Thanks for your input.
My Artcore gets a bit out-of-tune when using the VBF70 Tremolo but I guess will happen with the cheaper Korea Gretsch, as well.
Didn't had the chance to try a 6120 yet.
But as you said - for that price Ibanez did a good work.
overcast68 4 years ago
no prob ;)
thats another thing i forgot, the tuners aint that great, but that problem would happen with any guitar with a floating bridge.

I already thought about getting the TV pickups for my Af75D.
Seems to be the most effective upgrade.
