  • The problem with the arthouse production talent these days is that the actors are often that talent...and possess next to no acting talent and are far too young for their roles.

  • Star Wars Episode 2.5 is now in the final stages of editing!!! Coming soon!

  • 5/5 just cause y'all rock!!!!!

Nah. I saw without pay and let me say that was one kickass vid with a kickass story! Reminded me of 24.... Hope this is as good. Judging from the preview, I'm pretty sure it will be. How long is the finished product?

  • thanks! Glad you liked Without Pay. The finished film of Star Wars 2.5 will be around 20 minutes long :)

  • I saw this on the videocopilot forum. It really is awesome. The ship landing in the woods looks great.

    Fantastic works guys. 5/5 easily.

  • thanks!

  • Looking forward to the original!

    This looks AWESOME! lol

  • Thanks!

  • What Program Did You Use To Make The Lightsabers?

  • We used After Effects CS3, with videocopilot's preset 'Lightsaber v2'.

The preset is really good, but if you use it, make sure you blur it a bit.

  • @ArtisticArts

what do you mean by that?

    fast blur?

btw i just watch the movie 2.5

    nice job :)

  • thanks, glas you liked it!

If you use the preset, make sure you add 'gaussian blur' to the lightsaber layer (probably not fast blur), and tweak the amount to how far away the lightsaber is.

Also, set the layer transfer mode to 'add', so that the lightsaber looks more integrated with the background.

I also added extra glow, making it not very intense, but the radius quite large so that you get that large blown out ambient light sort of thing.

  • @ArtisticArts

thanks for the tips. I´m using the preset for a school project, trailer is in my channel btw. i don´t like the preset because it lacks of blur and other things but i dont have time to make it by hand.

  • Yep, it does lack blur, and gaussian blur can fix a bit of that, just make sure you use the 'screen' or 'add' transfer mode and that will make things look a lot better.

And also you might want to add a lens flare at the bottom of the lightsaber, (centre the flare on the solid, then move the solid's position to position it where the lightsaber is, if you know what I mean) Then put CC Toner and change the midtones colour to match your LS colour. Hope that helps :)

  • Wow, nice work. I want to do some acting now! Anyways cant wait to see the finished product.

  • thanks! I have a short movie I need you to act in soon, so if you could act for that one weekend that'd be great! (HOPEFULLY you'll be allowed to: its partially for a school project)

  • I eagerly await the finished product.

  • thanks, I've unfortunately had to stop working on it because I have exams coming up. It will probably come out in January sometime!

  • When is it coming?

  • it's coming in a few months...we've still got a lot to do on the film :)

  • omg so many years ?!!!!
