So I just could'nt help myself. I am a tattoo artist and have used speedstick the right way for years. I did change the recipe a bit by doubleing up on the sanitizer but other than that. This stuff is the shit. Hands down. 4.00 for the Aloe gel at walmart and 2.00 for the speed stick and sanitizer at dollar tree and you could make a lot of this stuff for very cheap. Happy Tatting

I found an aloe vera after sun freshing gel that contains: Aqua, alcohol, propylene glycol, polysorbate 20, triethanolamine, carbomer, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, methylparaben, fragance, calcium disodium, tocopheryl acetate, menthol. After testing stencil shit and stencil stuff I realized that this gel contains everything and it last 4 ever. I've done pretty well for myself just using speed stick and the backside of a disposible butterknife on some lined paper. But I finally hit that point in my art-on-skin progression and had to find a better way to get the intriquet stencils to stick. Absolutely amazing! I used the aloe with lidocaine it and it also numbs the skin while I'm working on it. 2 or 3 drops go a long way and after about 5 minutes, the pattern won't smear a bit. Thanks !
@lkelley32 actually that a misconception , remember you have to break the skin before any numbing product can get into the skin , this is over the counter %2 stuff .
@tatman35753 i used the regular green stuff too if it hardens just add more aloe gel i dint use the clear stick got the solid dark green stick when i added more aloe get it made an 8oz bottle of stencil shit i tested it and it still worked great try that or cut the stick in smaller slices and then melt then add the aloe gel with a tongue depresser mix it good if thick add more aloe gel try that

To each his own method... I believe mine is the best, yours is good as well, but being a creature of habit, I'm sticking with mine. It works great on "no outline" tattoo stencils where yours tends to rub off a little...
@skinpricker no this doesnt rub off at all , you let it sit for 15 minutes and it is solid , this is the same way stencile stuff works , if what you have is better , ( sounds like the ingredients in germ X hand sanitizer) then maybe you should sell it .
I've benn using a simular method for years... 1 whole stick of regular speedstick sliced in very thin slivers into a 250ml beeker. Add a splash of witch hazel and heat over stove over VERY LOW HEAT, not a microwave. the microwave will evaporate the alcohol in the speed stick to fast... When it is liquid. Add 5 table spoons of 100% all natural aloe vera gel. Heat it again on low for about a minute. Pour into 8oz dropper bottle and fill the rest of the way with alcohol. shake well before using.
@skinpricker STENCIL STUFF is just aloe gel as it is sold with the ingredients found in a typical bottle with propylene glycol added , (speed stick is the easiest form to obtain this in ) no added alcohol as propylene glycol is a penetrating agent and is made from alcohol esters and will dissolve the stencil ink by itself .
Q: You say mix 4oz of Speed Stick with 2oz of Aloe Vera Gel. The Speed Stick is measured in NT WT OZ and the Aloe Vera Gel in FL OZ. Are you saying mix a 2:1 ratio Speed Stick/Aloe Gel? ...or are you mixing based on net weight or fluid ounces?
@dirtyyardbird just use 1 stick to 2 oz of gel to start mix and let sit over night if it is too runny add another quarter stick until wet but not too watery
What I've been doing for years it making a mixture of Aloe gel, with propylene glycol (you can buy it at a drug store), alcohol, and a little tea tree oil. Bout 60% aloe gel, 30% PG, 5% grain alcohol (Everclear) , and 5% tea tree oil. Put it in a 6 or 8 ounce ink bottle or whatever along with a glass marble OR a couple stainless ball bearings, then shake the shit out of it. Works exactly the same as stencil stuff. And for about the same price as the SS you can make a gallon of this slime.
The only thing I don't like about using the speedstick mixture is the strong fragrance. It's really hard to find the unscented kind. Make sure you guys only use the DEODORANT and not the ANTI-PERSPIRANT. The anti-perspirant has an aluminum based compound that has been linked to some kind of cancer (dont ask me, google it).

At first its liquidy, after it sits in the bottle for a few it thickens up pretty thick. almost like its turning solid again. Should i add more gel? How do i keep it in more of a liquid form or like a creamy lotion?
This method works the greatest. (for those of you having a hard time finding speed stick) Right Guard Sport Clear stick Anti-Antiperspirant Deodorant Fresh Also works great by just scraping the stick with a tongue suppressor and applying it to the skin as well as with the aloe gel. Last a long time too. Thanks bud this Stencil Shit is the greatest.
let me just add that dude seriously ur info is always beyond detailed and i think theres nothin out there that has the info you give and ur videos have always been a great help to me and thank you for that....plus i havent tried it but the aloe shit i mentioned might be even better then anything on the market if i added the speed stick.

im not sure if anyone here know this but if not .. wut i use and it works extremely well and you can find it in most stores...its an Aloe freeze gel for suburns by Australian Gold, its in a pump spray and blueish in color...sets the stencil quickly and solidly and stays, the skin absorbs it beyond good.and those key ingredients are right there in it among other various plant extracts... Aloe vera and propylene glycol... not too think not too thin just right and pump spray works like a charm!!

but i was maken a point of this particular stuff...its not Aloe vera but rather aloe based but more fluid and has a million things init.... i dunno if any of that makes sense..lol it works well and holds up to my rubbing with witch hazel and i can get it almost anywhere.

@st1gmagt7 no because there is no good thermal copier ,, that is for hack shops who pound out flash . proper stencil making is not possible with a thermal machine . a proper stencil contains info that MAPS OUT hard and soft edges , light or whiteout areas and dark areas, it should be more like a map not an outline
FYI - i went out and brought all the things that contained "Propylene Glycol" the shit that worked best was speedstick, aloe vera gel, baby oil gel these held the best and actually worked better then "stencil gel"- other things that work but did not hold as strong and also did not have "PG" in it was greensoap, handsanitizer, alcohol - (the aloe vera gel found in the skincare area (target) didn't say "PG" on it, but i think it had it, because of its gel nature + it worked great)
ive noticed that a lot of deodorants or antiperspirants that are transparent gel in consistency, rather it be blue, green, or clear in color contains "propylene glycol " so does hand sanitizers and hand soaps (but not all of these)
my question is : is this the only ingredient i should be looking for, if so theres a online dealer that has "Propylene Glycol 99% " 1gal for $41.
is this worth it if so what do i cut it with and to what degree

@veminvested coo but tattoo training is really just for the search engine , my gig has always been Underground Demographix . the best way to apply it is a small nickle spot worth and spread it evenly and wait until it has mostly soaked in , then let it dry a minimum of 15 minutes . it wont come off
i just found out, another great deodorant to use is "BRUT" in my opinion the smell compared to speed stick is much more tolerable, its a lot more milder then speed stick and also sold at the $ store, and also contains high amounts of "propylene glycol" - after mixing it with the aloe vera gel (= parts) i could hardly even smell it at all, unlike the speed stick - check it out tell me what you think
hey i just wanted to stop by and say that i made my own stencil shit with your directions. i used 2 oz of aloe vera and about half a stick of speed stick. made about 3 ounces of stuff. it works really really greatly!!!!!!!!!! i used to use regular speed stick or just green soap but but stencil shit works way better and stays dark during tattoos. thanks alot!!!! id be willing to pay for this shit if i didnt know how to make it. i mean even pay you for the directions. i love it!!!
@andycoursey propylene glycol is penetrating agent . he main ingredient in speed stick . you can mix it with glycerin or aloe gel and make various types of stencil applications. most antifreez nowadays is Di Ethelyn glycol not as safe as PG

@TATTOOTRAINING Ive done some playing around with this for the last few days. It works great. Ive found that if you substitute hand sanatizer (also loaded with PG) for about half of your aloe gel, the ethyl alcohol in the HS helps the 'stencil stuff' dry a little faster. Still stays on FOREVER

I used generic regular deoderant and it just kept wiping off. and like yangsrgr8 said... glad i can draw. went to the dollar store for $1 and got the regular blue speed stick the non generic and it works great.
One problem that I am running into with this is, none of the retailers in my area carry Speed Stick Clear Gel Antiperspirant. They all have deodorant too and some kind of smell good shit....any suggestions? I am trying it with what I could find, we'll see how it works!

my first attempt was with the deodorant, but it was not clear....just having trouble finding clear deodorant...everyone has either blue or green, no clear....and the clear I could find was in the gel....sorry for the confusion!!!

@zeffman99 carbon paper is thin weak junk for receipts spirit master is thick ink for mimeograph machine. the carbon has a yellow sheet and sometimes a clear film, spirit master is just purple sheet and a blank with a tissue divider
put the stick in a bowl and nuke it for 10 seconds then add a tablespoon of aloe Vera gel and mix.
put in a bottle and let sit a day or two then shake it if it is too thick add a tiny bit gel , if it is too runny add some more stick till its like buttermilk
are you using mimeograph spirit master sheets or carbon paper ? this is not for carbon thermal fax paper , you must have the real stuff "spirit master"

I've benn using a simular method for years... 1 whole stick of regular speedstick sliced in very thin slivers into a 250ml beeker. Add a splash of witch hazel and heat over stove over VERY LOW HEAT, not a microwave. the microwave will evaporate the alcohol in the speed stick to fast... When it is liquid. Add 5 table spoons of 100% all natural aloe vera gel. Heat it again on low for about a minute. Pour into 8oz dropper bottle and fill the rest of the way with alcohol. shake well before using.

@skinpricker STENCIL STUFF is just aloe gel as it is sold with the ingredients found in a typical bottle with propylene glycol added , (speed stick is the easiest form to obtain this in ) no added alcohol as propylene glycol is a penetrating agent and is made from alcohol esters and will dissolve the stencil ink by itself .

Q: You say mix 4oz of Speed Stick with 2oz of Aloe Vera Gel. The Speed Stick is measured in NT WT OZ and the Aloe Vera Gel in FL OZ. Are you saying mix a 2:1 ratio Speed Stick/Aloe Gel? ...or are you mixing based on net weight or fluid ounces?

@dirtyyardbird just use 1 stick to 2 oz of gel to start mix and let sit over night if it is too runny add another quarter stick until wet but not too watery
warm stick in micro so it is semi liquid

What I've been doing for years it making a mixture of Aloe gel, with propylene glycol (you can buy it at a drug store), alcohol, and a little tea tree oil. Bout 60% aloe gel, 30% PG, 5% grain alcohol (Everclear) , and 5% tea tree oil. Put it in a 6 or 8 ounce ink bottle or whatever along with a glass marble OR a couple stainless ball bearings, then shake the shit out of it. Works exactly the same as stencil stuff. And for about the same price as the SS you can make a gallon of this slime.

The only thing I don't like about using the speedstick mixture is the strong fragrance. It's really hard to find the unscented kind. Make sure you guys only use the DEODORANT and not the ANTI-PERSPIRANT. The anti-perspirant has an aluminum based compound that has been linked to some kind of cancer (dont ask me, google it).

how man thanks alot! i have been doing the original old spice (the see thru green w lots of alcohol in it lol) and letting it dry then placing the stencil on there. its good, but yeah it smears quick. but man dude this is very impressive, im actually gonna do this, thanks alot you did lots of good research i bet huh? genius keep up the good work TATTOOTRAINING

At first its liquidy, after it sits in the bottle for a few it thickens up pretty thick. almost like its turning solid again. Should i add more gel? How do i keep it in more of a liquid form or like a creamy lotion?

This method works the greatest. (for those of you having a hard time finding speed stick) Right Guard Sport Clear stick Anti-Antiperspirant Deodorant Fresh Also works great by just scraping the stick with a tongue suppressor and applying it to the skin as well as with the aloe gel. Last a long time too. Thanks bud this Stencil Shit is the greatest.

let me just add that dude seriously ur info is always beyond detailed and i think theres nothin out there that has the info you give and ur videos have always been a great help to me and thank you for that....plus i havent tried it but the aloe shit i mentioned might be even better then anything on the market if i added the speed stick.

@NoCtUrNaLMaYhEm1 thats what i used aloe gel for sunburn with the speed stick to add glycol, the PG is a penetrating agent so it pulls it into the skin and last a long time . so if the product you mentioned is adequate in PG then you have it , probably wont be able to find it this time of year but if i do ill look for it

im not sure if anyone here know this but if not .. wut i use and it works extremely well and you can find it in most stores...its an Aloe freeze gel for suburns by Australian Gold, its in a pump spray and blueish in color...sets the stencil quickly and solidly and stays, the skin absorbs it beyond good.and those key ingredients are right there in it among other various plant extracts... Aloe vera and propylene glycol... not too think not too thin just right and pump spray works like a charm!!

but i was maken a point of this particular stuff...its not Aloe vera but rather aloe based but more fluid and has a million things init.... i dunno if any of that makes sense..lol it works well and holds up to my rubbing with witch hazel and i can get it almost anywhere.

@st1gmagt7 no because there is no good thermal copier ,, that is for hack shops who pound out flash . proper stencil making is not possible with a thermal machine . a proper stencil contains info that MAPS OUT hard and soft edges , light or whiteout areas and dark areas, it should be more like a map not an outline

FYI - i went out and brought all the things that contained "Propylene Glycol" the shit that worked best was speedstick, aloe vera gel, baby oil gel these held the best and actually worked better then "stencil gel"- other things that work but did not hold as strong and also did not have "PG" in it was greensoap, handsanitizer, alcohol - (the aloe vera gel found in the skincare area (target) didn't say "PG" on it, but i think it had it, because of its gel nature + it worked great)

ive noticed that a lot of deodorants or antiperspirants that are transparent gel in consistency, rather it be blue, green, or clear in color contains "propylene glycol " so does hand sanitizers and hand soaps (but not all of these)
my question is : is this the only ingredient i should be looking for, if so theres a online dealer that has "Propylene Glycol 99% " 1gal for $41.
is this worth it if so what do i cut it with and to what degree

@veminvested coo but tattoo training is really just for the search engine , my gig has always been Underground Demographix . the best way to apply it is a small nickle spot worth and spread it evenly and wait until it has mostly soaked in , then let it dry a minimum of 15 minutes . it wont come off

i just found out, another great deodorant to use is "BRUT" in my opinion the smell compared to speed stick is much more tolerable, its a lot more milder then speed stick and also sold at the $ store, and also contains high amounts of "propylene glycol" - after mixing it with the aloe vera gel (= parts) i could hardly even smell it at all, unlike the speed stick - check it out tell me what you think

hey i just wanted to stop by and say that i made my own stencil shit with your directions. i used 2 oz of aloe vera and about half a stick of speed stick. made about 3 ounces of stuff. it works really really greatly!!!!!!!!!! i used to use regular speed stick or just green soap but but stencil shit works way better and stays dark during tattoos. thanks alot!!!! id be willing to pay for this shit if i didnt know how to make it. i mean even pay you for the directions. i love it!!!

@andycoursey propylene glycol is penetrating agent . he main ingredient in speed stick . you can mix it with glycerin or aloe gel and make various types of stencil applications. most antifreez nowadays is Di Ethelyn glycol not as safe as PG

@TATTOOTRAINING Ive done some playing around with this for the last few days. It works great. Ive found that if you substitute hand sanatizer (also loaded with PG) for about half of your aloe gel, the ethyl alcohol in the HS helps the 'stencil stuff' dry a little faster. Still stays on FOREVER

I used generic regular deoderant and it just kept wiping off. and like yangsrgr8 said... glad i can draw. went to the dollar store for $1 and got the regular blue speed stick the non generic and it works great.

One problem that I am running into with this is, none of the retailers in my area carry Speed Stick Clear Gel Antiperspirant. They all have deodorant too and some kind of smell good shit....any suggestions? I am trying it with what I could find, we'll see how it works!

my first attempt was with the deodorant, but it was not clear....just having trouble finding clear deodorant...everyone has either blue or green, no clear....and the clear I could find was in the gel....sorry for the confusion!!!

@zeffman99 carbon paper is thin weak junk for receipts spirit master is thick ink for mimeograph machine. the carbon has a yellow sheet and sometimes a clear film, spirit master is just purple sheet and a blank with a tissue divider

put the stick in a bowl and nuke it for 10 seconds then add a tablespoon of aloe Vera gel and mix.
put in a bottle and let sit a day or two then shake it if it is too thick add a tiny bit gel , if it is too runny add some more stick till its like buttermilk
