  • So many choice lines...this clip makes me laugh all the way through.

  • @KikoSavesTheDay "A Huey?!"

  • @Tigerman1138

Yeah, that's a good one! heh heh

  • I love that 188 years of peace along the world's longest undefended border was threatened by a bunch of bird hunters who can't use a sextant.

  • This whole thing seems like an incredibly elaborate practical joke.

  • hahahahaha canada declare war??!!?!? Queen elizibeth would step in and stop it haha or america would just cream them, sorry to any canadians lol

  • @djdwebs Oh no no no. The Canadians would surrender then profusely apologize and share potine with everyone.

  • Seriously why haven't we annexed them yet?

  • @agbmoe Howz yer healthcare?

  • @vinceklortho Better than your spelling

  • @agbmoe Well caught and played! Facile and colloquial jabs such as I stated have no place on such a rarified forum for intelligent, civilized, ideological discussion. My question should have read: With such national vitriol directed at anything even remotely approaching “socialist,” would emulating the foreign policies of the National Socialist Party really be in the best interests of a country already overburdened by, among many other problems, woefully inefficient healthcare?

  • @vinceklortho The NSDAP weren't socialists, there was a socialist faction but largely it was as far-right as it is possible to go.

  • @agbmoe Because there's no way that the Republican party would want to add 25 million center-left leaning voters to America's population.

  • @agbmoe 30 million Canadians and 2.1 billion other members of the Commonwealth might have something to say about it.

  • Man that fake french accent is horrible! Where did they get that guy from?

  • All that oil and fresh water...I say we go for it.

  • I think its a good idea. Lets free the canadian people from their communist regime.

  • @KalEl600rr sorry sir. at least Canadians have jobs.

  • People think this was humourous, but just wait until Canadians hold up oil exports from the tar sands if the US starts fucking around and cheating on the deal. You'll start hearing the same propaganda and fabrications the preceded the invasion of Iraq and are hearing now before the invasion of Iran.

  • @zxcv1234vcxz

Yes that doesnt sound like the ramblings of a crazy person at all.

I beg the following of you: Make a dairy, each month you write down your predictions for the future. In 5 years you then start reading back what you wrote 5 years earlier(each month). When you see that you were wrong 19/20 times please dont let the 1/20 be a sign that you were right, you got lucky. PLEASE

  • And yet reality is still funnier. Canada and the US once nearly went to war over a dispute between two farmers and a pig.

  • @NoGoodHandlesLeft When was this? I'm assuming mid-late 1800s

  • @Anghellik9 1859. The pig was the only casualty. Google Pig War.

  • Canada is America's single largest oil provider.

  • The top comments are pretty funny but I suspect that a lot of people didn't watch the full video. Because the solution to this international incident is sooo much funnier! Just end hunting season. XD

Not to mention the Canadian ambassador. "I haven't had much practice at this kind of ... intrigue." LOL @ Aaron Sorkin making fun of Canadians.

  • @WithCompany Sorkin was gone from the show at this point

  • @kcg5000 You're right of course. Still funny. ;-)

  • canadian bacon 2

  • It is pretty funny to hear how the US Ranchers 'invading' Canada are better outfitted than a large squad of Mounties. The guy's snicker is annoying.

  • LOL

  • Did anyone else notice the (probably) unintentional pun at 0:15 , "CATTLE-list" (catalyst)?

  • Wait, on the show, was this a real event, or some kind of simulation/training scenario for the commanders?

  • @stopthemadness99

Real. There was a territorial conflict between private citizens of both countries that both governments were unable to corral without escalation. Obviously they were fearing another Waco type incident if they couldn't cease the hostilities.

  • @stopthemadness99 In the show it was real.

  • 1812 all over again? Would we have to send in the SAS and Royal Marines to burn Washington again to calm things down? Clever plot

  • the US would get its ass handed to it if it ever invaded Canada

just like all the other times it tried

  • @chartrule Please. Brtitish soldiers did most of the work in 1812, don't get it twisted. They were trained by the greatest empire in the world. That's clearly not the case today.

Today, if all else failed, we'd nuke the hell out of you guys before you could even say "eh?"

    Capice, moron?

  • @daisyrios101 well you have a tendency to kill civilians when you're too incompetent to kill the actual enemies...

  • @daisyrios101 and your attitude is why people dislike Americans when they travel abroad

  • William O'leary where the hell ya been.......its Rog in Topanga, I'm here for a little bike riding and trying to figure the rest of my life out.....you moved out!!! Good to see your still working.........take care!!!

  • War Plan Crimson, anyone?

  • Sorry about the repetition. It had been telling me Error, so I rewrote.

  • Bahahaha the Americans have ripped us off AND invaded us THREE times. They can't even beat a bunch of Muslims too stupid to use a remote control...

  • "Were you thinkin' Blackhawks or a HALO drop?"

  • My wife would be so happy if we could just invasion Canada and get this virus off our backs, once and for all.

  • @gmartinz01 Furthermore, if you could convey proper English correspondance the rest of us would be so happy. I can see how us supplying you with 21% of your oil demand as well as natural gas and massive amout of power through the St. James Bay hydro system is such a burden for you. Maybe we should ship that burden to China or India, I'm sure they would oblige.

  • @gmartinz01 Yeah just try it. You invaded us THREE times and you rip us off.

Better learn to use Chopsticks because your bastard country will soon be owned by China...

  • @gmartinz01

your soldiers would get their asses handed to them so fast their heads would spin

  • We do have a plan for the invasion of Canada. It's called War Plan Red. I don't know if it's been updated in the last 80 years, but it's there if we need it.

  • @323guiltyspark You invaded us three times. Your soldiers prove utterly helpless against insurgency...

  • "Unless they've been elected to office."

  • One thing, and the only thing, that peeves me about this is the stereotyping of Canadians as either french-canadian or a bumbling, but gentle, fool with a bow-tie. We did burn down your White House, and we are your largest trading partner (including your biggest and most democratic source of oil.) A little more realistic characters would have been nice.

I love the United States, and I hate Canadians who hate Americans, just because they are Americans. God bless both our nations.

  • @Cnd1867 It also stereotypes Americans and gung-ho, militaristic cowboy idiots. So take your pick of which one you'd rather be. :)

  • @an0gr0br ....you make a convincing point =)

  • @Cnd1867 A more "realistic" portrayal (in your opinion) might one day become the de facto Canadian stereotype, rightfully angering those Canadians who were more like the first.

  • been killed and i wouldn't be here writing to you. So ya i am thankful for the US, hey during the world cup i always support the USA, and during the any other sport event if Canada isn't there or is out i always switch to backing the US. I respect the Americans, and i think Americans should repect us Canadians too, we do deserve it as well.

  • Like the US espically after how it helped during WWII, i was born in Canada but my family is from Malta, a nation that stood solid against the axis forces more than most other european nations. I live in Gozo now, an island part of Malta that had the American forces based there, if it wasn't for the USA, Gozo and later Malta too would certainly been invaded, and both my grandparents homes (my moms and dads sides would of been the first homes to get hit in the invasion. They certainly would of

  • I don't get why americans lack respect for Canada, when we canadians were always there for the USA, in both tough times, times of war, and helping to meet challenges like the space race, and the cold war. And my personal favourite during the Iranian crises, it which Canada gave free passport to free the US hositages. Now how many other nations did that for you Americans. We may defer but personnelly if i choose between the US and Europe, i would still choose the US, as we friends & should be so,

  • @pjmuscat401 Bc many of them are now brainwashed morons thanks to fox news giving them propaganda against canada. Everything from canada being a socialist communist country with "death panels" deciding who lives and dies in health care, to canada being culturally backwards or not having the morals of the great US.

  • if it isn't for Canada the US would be in the dark ages. where are you going to get the oil from. And secondly Canada won the cold war for the US, all the uranium comes from Ontario. Third, Apollo 11 would of ever of landed on the moon, the smart americans tried to give the contract to construct the landing legs to belgium instead of Canada, and there's kept on failing, but the canadians apealed the contract and won it back. Yes the apollo 11 landed safely with sold canadian built landing legs.

  • If anyone doubts that the contingency plan exists, google 'War Plan Red'.

  • Oh God, the funniest thing in the entire series.

  • Canada has oil! Let's invade tomorrow! ;-)

  • @cshubs Fourth invasions' the charm eh?

  • @leegeorgeson We'll get it right eventually. We got nothin' but time. :-)

  • @cshubs lol with the way the Republicans are running things you better learn to use Chopsticks...

  • I don't think that the President would like it if unbeknownst to him he suddenly found himself in a state of war with Canada with armed forces already deployed before he'd heard that there was a problem. "Oh sir? ..Yes? ...Yes...well, it seems that we're now in a defacto state of war with Canada... you see...funny story..."

  • "We have a contingency plan to invade Canada?" "Would you like to be briefed?" Hahaha brilliant

  • "The caligraphy is beautiful!"

  • I HATED Will Bailey when he left to work for the VP, but overall he was a great character when he stepped up after Toby got fired.

  • "Do we even have a map of Canada?" Ha ha ha!

  • @aylajean27 Well I wouldn't expect her to have one in the kitchen XD im sorry I had to go there.

  • @ShogunWarrior13 No. No, you really didn't.

  • @cybergeek11235 Yeah I kinda, how could I not? Besides it was for shits and gigs, all harmless fun

  • While I liked Harper she was quite under used most of the time. This episode was a nice change of pace for her. I do so love the way she goes through the situation seemingly irritated more than concern just like anyone with a shred of common sense in such a situation.

  • @pscott90 This entire clip could be summarized by "jesus christ what the hell is wrong with you people". She was the only one who actually understood the situation.

  • "the united states does not make trade decision's based on vamped up cowboys"

Will: "unless they've been elected to office"---- Ouchieeeee President Bush...

  • @Elisheval I was thinking he meant Reagan...

  • @Nifer91 This was made during Bush's presidency and..you know, cowboys are from Texas. I think he made a Bush joke.

  • Was this aired on 1 April?

  • "Yes, but there were geese in the air"

  • the American and Canadian Goverments both have similar plans to deal with Invasion and Incursion from each other. awesome episode

  • While the West Wing was never the same after Aaron Sorkin left, plots like this recaptured some of those more light hearted moments from before. Good stuff.

  • Hahaha, this is one of my favorite scenes from the later seasons, and probably the only Harper plotline I've ever liked at all.
