@agbmoe Well caught and played! Facile and colloquial jabs such as I stated have no place on such a rarified forum for intelligent, civilized, ideological discussion. My question should have read: With such national vitriol directed at anything even remotely approaching “socialist,” would emulating the foreign policies of the National Socialist Party really be in the best interests of a country already overburdened by, among many other problems, woefully inefficient healthcare?
People think this was humourous, but just wait until Canadians hold up oil exports from the tar sands if the US starts fucking around and cheating on the deal. You'll start hearing the same propaganda and fabrications the preceded the invasion of Iraq and are hearing now before the invasion of Iran.
Yes that doesnt sound like the ramblings of a crazy person at all.
I beg the following of you: Make a dairy, each month you write down your predictions for the future. In 5 years you then start reading back what you wrote 5 years earlier(each month). When you see that you were wrong 19/20 times please dont let the 1/20 be a sign that you were right, you got lucky. PLEASE
The top comments are pretty funny but I suspect that a lot of people didn't watch the full video. Because the solution to this international incident is sooo much funnier! Just end hunting season. XD
Not to mention the Canadian ambassador. "I haven't had much practice at this kind of ... intrigue." LOL @ Aaron Sorkin making fun of Canadians.
Real. There was a territorial conflict between private citizens of both countries that both governments were unable to corral without escalation. Obviously they were fearing another Waco type incident if they couldn't cease the hostilities.
@chartrule Please. Brtitish soldiers did most of the work in 1812, don't get it twisted. They were trained by the greatest empire in the world. That's clearly not the case today.
Today, if all else failed, we'd nuke the hell out of you guys before you could even say "eh?"
William O'leary where the hell ya been.......its Rog in Topanga, I'm here for a little bike riding and trying to figure the rest of my life out.....you moved out!!! Good to see your still working.........take care!!!
@gmartinz01 Furthermore, if you could convey proper English correspondance the rest of us would be so happy. I can see how us supplying you with 21% of your oil demand as well as natural gas and massive amout of power through the St. James Bay hydro system is such a burden for you. Maybe we should ship that burden to China or India, I'm sure they would oblige.
We do have a plan for the invasion of Canada. It's called War Plan Red. I don't know if it's been updated in the last 80 years, but it's there if we need it.
One thing, and the only thing, that peeves me about this is the stereotyping of Canadians as either french-canadian or a bumbling, but gentle, fool with a bow-tie. We did burn down your White House, and we are your largest trading partner (including your biggest and most democratic source of oil.) A little more realistic characters would have been nice.
I love the United States, and I hate Canadians who hate Americans, just because they are Americans. God bless both our nations.
@Cnd1867 A more "realistic" portrayal (in your opinion) might one day become the de facto Canadian stereotype, rightfully angering those Canadians who were more like the first.

Like the US espically after how it helped during WWII, i was born in Canada but my family is from Malta, a nation that stood solid against the axis forces more than most other european nations. I live in Gozo now, an island part of Malta that had the American forces based there, if it wasn't for the USA, Gozo and later Malta too would certainly been invaded, and both my grandparents homes (my moms and dads sides would of been the first homes to get hit in the invasion. I don't get why americans lack respect for Canada, when we canadians were always there for the USA, in both tough times, times of war, and helping to meet challenges like the space race, and the cold war. And my personal favourite during the Iranian crises, it which Canada gave free passport to free the US hositages. Now how many other nations did that for you Americans. We may defer but personnelly if i choose between the US and Europe, i would still choose the US, as we friends & should be so,
@pjmuscat401 Bc many of them are now brainwashed morons thanks to fox news giving them propaganda against canada. Everything from canada being a socialist communist country with "death panels" deciding who lives and dies in health care, to canada being culturally backwards or not having the morals of the great US.
if it isn't for Canada the US would be in the dark ages. where are you going to get the oil from. And secondly Canada won the cold war for the US, all the uranium comes from Ontario. Third, Apollo 11 would of ever of landed on the moon, the smart americans tried to give the contract to construct the landing legs to belgium instead of Canada, and there's kept on failing, but the canadians apealed the contract and won it back. Yes the apollo 11 landed safely with sold canadian built landing legs.
I don't think that the President would like it if unbeknownst to him he suddenly found himself in a state of war with Canada with armed forces already deployed before he'd heard that there was a problem. "Oh sir? ..Yes? ...Yes...well, it seems that we're now in a defacto state of war with Canada... you see...funny story..."
While I liked Harper she was quite under used most of the time. This episode was a nice change of pace for her. I do so love the way she goes through the situation seemingly irritated more than concern just like anyone with a shred of common sense in such a situation.
@pscott90 This entire clip could be summarized by "jesus christ what the hell is wrong with you people". She was the only one who actually understood the situation.
