How is a product clean when it main source of the energy cycle is fossil burning fuel?.driving a clean car which re-charge/takes its power for power plant is not clean if you follow the transfer of energy law,but one can use solar panel.The power plant has no form of catalyst for its fuel/carbon burn.The car company will produce the electric car, now that most of the car company are in Lawyer control. the clean car will bring new carbon law with a carbon (free) tax.The Electric car will return.

It might be interesting to see what was going on JUST BEFORE GM pulled those cars. If I were a betting man, I'd say one of the celebs leasing one of those things had an incident with the car, and was going to sue them. For liability reasons, they would have removed the cars from service.

Sorry, but if 'the people of Cal' wanted these things, the car companies would have sold them. No obig corp is going to walk away from that kind of money. The 'oil co" conspiracy rings false.

Well, you're WRONG. There was no liability issue; Toyota honorably SOLD the Toyota RAV4-EV without a single incident! GM liars weaseled and slimed about "liability", which translates to "bull puckey".

The car companies NEVER wanted to build them!! Don't you know ANYTHING?? Every year, they would attend CARB, and the same old whining -- it's impossible, no one wants them, we don't want to build them, etc., etc., etc.

The Tesla roadster uses some kind of kinetic charging from the breaks the powere gains from this are very little. I certainly don't think fast charging is impossible as the electricity is actually able to move at the speed needed, its the technology. the chemicals can't polorise the chemicals fast enough or somthing. but i do think gas cars will be around for 100's years like cassets, records etc saying that EV's will end gas car use is like saying gas cars ended horse use.

EVERY electric car worthy of the name used regen braking; but you can only get back what you put into it (less waste), so it's just a way of increasing efficiency, not getting new energy.

Efficiency is the best way. if only it were possible to also turn the heat loss into power. But thats somthing our human bodies can't even do.

The funn part is that they are restricting much things today...A electrical bike kit costs shitloads of money here in sweden, while in chine u can have it for alittle more than 150 dollars..here its like 300 percentage more!

Every1 complains about charging time wit EV's i heard that MIT made a batt that is able to be fully recharaged in 10 seconds with the use of a virus. they intend on introducing them to EV's have you heard about this liveoilfree??

Actually, those who really DRIVE EVs don't think it's a big thing at all. In fact, I have a fast-charger, but hardly use it. We want to charge slowly overnight, not fast; electric is cheap at night.

Clearly thoes who have purchased an EV don't care or care very little about about the long charging time. But i'm talking about if EV's were to take over from conventional cars it would need to be able to charge quickly in a matter of minutes. I imagine that fast charging would happen in the same way that you fill a petrol car at a station and than you pay £/$ 5-10. i was just wandering if you heard anything in terms of the MIT type battery because that sounded like it would realy be the key.

Jewlzorjay, It's going to be a long time, more than a century, before you have to worry about not having IC cars. For long distance, electric trains are best, but some will be driving gas cars into 2200 and beyond. Fast charging is illusion.

Fast charging a battery isnt a illusion, with nano technology u can actualy recharge a battery under 10 minutes!

Just research it...nano batteries...To combine water gas and batteries i think is the way to go, an while at it...put rechargers in each wheels to backpower the batteries some!....There are many many many variants!

Nano is one of the most over-hyped cons...sounds great, but SO FAR, NO CAR!!

The illusion is THINKING that you need fast charge! Drivers who actually drive EVs don't think it's important; only the auto-oil companies play on this con.

Well i believe that its working...Batteries gets better each year, and i bet within tie u can fast charge them without damaging the batteries. But what MOST people forget is how it would effekt the industries today if we where about to change and go fully on electrical cars...It would litteraly DESTROY mass sides of industri such as parts to car etc, cause u would need far less items in the car et.c! just think what would happen to the oil and petrol companies!

It's not just oil! Jiffy Lube, muffler shops, auto parts (Autozone, etc.), aftermarket, tune-up shops, mechanics, smog test spots, and a whole host of companies from streetsweepers to non-profits.

And for the matter u can put wind turbines that harvest the energy from whind while driving the car etc.. Place 2 wind turbines infront of the car aswell, and u can charge the batteries some, and you CAN harvest enery while driving the car aswell not only on breaking...Ever heard about magnetic fields? u know...shakeable pocket lamps et.c! And u can harvest that energy without any force added to it...Just research it!

Think there is someone that put like 6-7 whind generators on the back of the car and placed some generators to each wheel...DAMN ugly car but cool idea!..Well im no scientist...But it sounds fishy when gm recalled all electrical cars and destroyed them and didnt have a clear explanation to why!

Its evan more fishy when you know they gave a deactivated car to a university for study ( and probs to cover there back) the university reactivated the car and recorded it only to warned by GM to take the car off the road. I would love to know what is behind this car scandle.

Mass production of electric vehicles would free up oil supplies for a strong national defense, free up oil supplies for the airline industry.

Obviously benefits of electric vehicles are many. It would improve public health, and provide a cleaner environment and air quality.

Mass production would also create more jobs for our economy and improve the quality of life in America and decrease our dependence on foreign oil.

I fail to understand why we are not producing more electric vehicles, and mass producing these vehicles for everyone. The resulting benefits to the environement and the jobs created my mass production of electric vehicles is so obvious.

Not to mention it would free up oil for the airline industry and national defense.

I watched the documentary "Who Killed the Electric Car" last autumn. I was astounded!

I purchased copies at Borders bookstore in Ann Arbor, Michigan and gave them to friends and family (many of whom work for the auto manufacturers). They too were appalled. We still discuss the future of Detroit at get-togethers.

P.s. - Toyota will be #1 this year. No wonder. (I hope they take Nascar too.)

This argument is similar to the Big Oil argument about E85. Big oil contends that E85 is futile because it takes more energy to produce a gallon than you get back in return. Truth be told, it takes 4 times as much to produce a single gallon of regular gasoline from crude than it does to produce a gallon of E85.

E85 is not futile because of the energy issue; it's futile because there can never be as much of it as you can get from petroleum.

One year's growth of vegetation can never match the millenia of congealed solar energy in oil.

The argument is why go to H2, when we already have CNG? One other argument is that fuel cell cars are wildly more expensive than battery EVs, and don't last more than 3 years.

Ironically, Hydrogen is commonly used in OIL REFINERIES in the cracking process. So, really, each refinery could be a H2 fueling station, but that would violate the illusion that H2 is "clean". Clean it may be, but making it is extremely energy intensive, and very dirty.

Fuel cell fools claim that EVs are charged on electric made from coal, but the electric to make H2 and oil is all clean!

The whole hydrogen fuel cell is the most ridiculous bunch of crap I have ever seen. After all we have learned about the oil companies, why would we trust ANOTHER product that is going to be hosted by them. Come on people! lol
