You know you can bash them for trying, but at least they care. Those tigers are safe so long as they are there, which can't be said for their brothers and sisters being hunted and killed in the wild. Its not ideal but its better than nothing.

The reaction of the tiger is based on the humans around him, they are obviously calm and centered good people, animals pick up on that and therefore what you get is this amazing relationship.
Key point - the monks think of the tigers as monks who've been reincarnated and rewarded with lives as tigers, placing the tigers *above themselves* in the hierarchy of their belief system. That translates into respect. You can't treat a tiger as a pet, but perhaps giving them the respect they deserve pays off more then the rest of us are willing to admit.

Tigers by instinct are predators. The difference here is environ. The cats know their environ, their handlers, they find food and shelter here, care. So, they identify the environ as safe. In return, they act non-aggressive. But, they remain a threat. It's still a risk. Tiger is a tiger.

Maintaining order is critically important in order for people and tigers to share the living space. As I mentioned so many times, tigers in wild is dying. During the day, tigers are sleepy and not very actice, that is when it is safe for tourists to touch and take pictures. So you doubters, educate yourself a bit more.

Sick tigers are being taken care volunteered vet. They keep some of sick tigers in cage to avoid contact with other tigers. Physical contact with healthy tigers could its illness worse or make healthy ones get sick. Please don't bend the truth.

Key point - the monks think of the tigers as monks who've been reincarnated and rewarded with lives as tigers, placing the tigers *above themselves* in the hierarchy of their belief system. That translates into respect. You can't treat a tiger as a pet, but perhaps giving them the respect they deserve pays off more then the rest of us are willing to admit.

there not being bad when they attack us- its their natural predator drive
the monks are taking a risk-- but from what I know of Tibetian monks. and I assume these have similars values and discipline.

Maintaining order is critically important in order for people and tigers to share the living space. As I mentioned so many times, tigers in wild is dying. Wild is no longer livable condition for tigers, that is why they will go extinct soon. This temple is just one way of keeping tigers from extinctions.

Don't listen to sick people spreading false info on internet. There is no abuse or drugging in this tiger temple. Tiger sleeps 18 hours a day. Thailand is very warm place. Look at what your cat is doing during summer. They sleep all day long. Tigers are active and moving primarily at night, usually from sunset to sunrise. During the day, tigers are sleepy and not very actice, that is when it is safe for tourists to touch and take pictures. So you doubters, educate yourself a bit more.

This temple doesn't stop the real problem; the fact that tigers get poached IN THE WILD and de-forestation! And no, I've gotten info from reliable organizations that have shown pictures. There's one tiger with a bulging blood vessel in its left arm. It's only 2 years old. All the monks do is leave it in the cage and let it suffer. Sorry buddy, but this place is no solution at all!!

@mousavsm That is another misleading info. They do keep unfriendly tigers in the cage while tourists are in the temple. When tourists are gone, tigers are free walk around. Sick tigers are being taken care volunteered vet. They keep some of sick tigers in cage to avoid contact with other tigers. Physical contact with healthy tigers could its illness worse or make healthy ones get sick. Please don't bend the truth.

Temple and some organizations have been working on the project to secure massive property to create wild habitat for tigers. Due to lack of funding, this project 100% relies on donations. It is going to take more time. When this happens, tigers will be able to live just like in wild again. Until then, we must do everything to keep them from extinction.
