While I certainly noticed the echo effect, I think that sometimes it's nice to make the room sound the way it looks. It's a way to match it all up. More realistic - if that's what you're going for.

In 1979 I was shooting news film for the local affiliate and had the honor of covering a Carl Perkins concert. The first shot was from behind the band before the curtain rose. A few seconds befor the announcer says "Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Blue Suede Shoes, Carl Perkins", he turns to me and says "The calm before the storm". You have part of Carl's gift. Keep it up!
