How do I describe such a video? I clicked on "classic" at right of this comment block, hoping it means what I understand it to mean. I could not click on incredible and classic because the drop down window allows clicking on only one item. MY DESCRIPTION IS: I quickly downloaded your video so I have the treasure, even if Google swallows what remains of YouTube. THANK YOU we appreciate you for this and other swell videos of and about Elvis Presley that enlighten and fulfill us, always.
In reply to the e-mail sent to me by Elvispresleyland.. I have never doubted that Elvis' voice and talent were God given and i also know that he was a God fearing person who believed that he was put on this earth to spread happiness with his wonderful voice. I also know about all the other bits you mentioned. I just wondered what point you were trying to make?
AND ..... another thing ..... about the colonel guy:
Managers get 10%, sometimes 15% of certain things performer does. The Colonel took at least half 50% of everything Elvis did. Who physically worked hard for the maney? ELVIS.
people can say a lot about the Colonel, fact is, no other manager would have gotten Elvis as big as he became and still is, don't forget in those times there wasn't any cell phone or internet, just a limited media. They were the perfect duo for each other, Elvis was a very intelligent man... if he was uncomfortable with the Col. he would have replaced him
Oh how crazy of me Suzi why on earth haven´t I commented this great video before?? It´s a masterpiece!! You´ve hit a brilliant theme for this great video. So very nicely put together with all these great pictures and the songs chosen for Mr Parker are just super!!!!
"I cant stand Parker," he got Elvis stuck in Las Vegas instead of letting Elvis tour Europe and the world, Thats when Elvis`s troubles started and ended in the same place, Vegas is fine for a while but Elvis was there too long, it was time for Elvis to move forward but instead Parker just ran a muck.......The Dick Head....
all the colonel wanted was money. "Money, Money, Money!", in Tom's brain. he once gambled away $1,000,000 of elvis money. he was a fat pig that rolled around in the loot as long as elvis had breath in him. he once made elvis sell his records to RCA in '73 for $2,000,000. he once turned down an oppurtunity for money: elvis touring in japan; colonel said no because of his illegal alien status! rip elvis and happy 75th.
the Colonel man was nothing but cruel to the king! he exploited him and threatened him. he didnt care if elvis was healthy, ill or terminally ill. "All that matters is that he is up on stage, making money." this shows just what a money addict and exploter he really was. he's probably in hell now! elvis should have fired parker when he had the chance. rip elvis.
The colonel guy treated Elvis Presley badly. It is told that once in Las Vegas the colonel burst into private area of Elvis and saw his collapsed in bedroom, with doctor at Elvis' side trying to revive him. The colonel said "All I care about is that he is on the stage, on time."
And, when Elvis bought airplanes to tour world, colonel said "no."
Biographer Alanna Nash, who spent SIX YEARS researching Parker for a newly released biography, says she ended with mixed feelings about him."I go from finding him extremely distasteful to having some sympathy for him" she said
@simonetr81 he was more distaseful than we could ever imagine, the way he treated Elvis, ripped him off, finally he did more damage to his carier than good. His influence on Elvis was so huge, he was in awe of him, while he should have been treated by Parker as royalty. Sadly Parker never understood Elvis and his Music he underestimated his talents otherwise he would have made better decisions for him., decisions fit for the "King" of entertainment and music. The legend of the century
In the book, Parker is quoted as coyly denying that he took 50 percent of Elvis's earnings. "Elvis takes 50 percent of everything I earn," Parker said.
@ElvisPresleyLand Hi simonetr81. I agree completely with you . Further to that Vegas story it was also said that Parker kept pushing Elvis's head into a bucket of iced water to make sure he went on stage , even though Elvis was really sick and in no fit state to perform . Some caring man wasn't he?? So i don't agree that Parker made Elvis into a superstar. I believe that Elvis had the talent and skill to make it anyway.
@madmike180250 NOBODY other than God was in control of Elvis' voice. God anointed voice of Elvis and he used it as intended, his only GRAMMYS were for three Gospel Albums he recorded, with great opposition about it. Elvis sang Gospel songs prior to going on stage. Elvis included Gospel songs in his on stage performances. Elvis' male backup singers were Gospel Quartet, The Stamps with JD Sumner. Elvis Presley loved God and when just a tiny boy told people he would sing for Jesus. HE DID
@ElvisPresleyLand Rubbish that comment was made by a loony hairdresser with a grudge and anyway the Colonel was not Elvis presley's babysitter. He was his manager and the best in the world at his job. Elvis knew it and Vernon knew it. Without the Colonel Elvis would have faded away during the 60's and the Beatles invasion. Granted most likely alive driving a truck somewhere in in the deep south.
@wargirl583 The second song fit Parker very well. In my opinion, Parker didn't love or care about Elvis, it was his livelihood and no matter how far he ran Elvis into the ground by booking tours and such, as long as Elvis was on stage making him 50% that's all that mattered. Parker was all about himself.
The second sequence is very powerful. Way to go!
Excellent song choices: I'll never hear "It's Easy For You" in quite the same way again.
Fine interpretation.

Yes I think Elvis never toured the world because Tom Parker was an Illegal Alien. Sad :(
