How to keep a server 24/7. Well you obviously don't turn the system off. You keep battery backups incase of a power cut. Also have diesel power generators incase of power cut to power you're system. Also make sure the server is in a cooled environment to avoid crashing. Make sure the server is located away from natural disasters such as earthquakes. All datacentres tend to do the above!!
