It isn't an accident that Deerhoof sounds the way they do, just to clarify.

It's ok if you don't like them. Let's be honest, it's weird music, but that's why it's interesting. You shouldn't call them bad musicians because they play weird music. I've seen them in concert a few times and they play pretty tight and with a good sound. If you need proof that they can play 'normal' music well, listen to their cover of "Goin' Up the Country," though I'm not sure where you'd find that nowadays.
