Ive played both including college football. Once you're running at full speed and you have a 250lb man grab your facemask and whip your head around...you're dancing with death there. You can make the argument Rugby players dont wear pads, but their collisions are 1/10 the force of football collisions. The last year NFL didn't require helmets, there were like 12 deaths I think from head injuries. there is no debate, football is tougher with greater risk of injury. thats why there paid so much
