I have an Omnia II (i8000) and I am mostly running custom roms and being able to use internet is a great asset to this phone. There are a lot of sources for free apps so you don't have to spend a lot of money besides your monthly bill!

Guys as of now the iphone3gs is still the best most customizable mobile device out there. Dont know a year or so down the line but as of now it is, once u actually experience the smoothness and all the things u can do to and with the iphone once u jailbrake, then u wont be so open to the idea of going to just any other mobile device, it would take a lot to switch if u knew how much the iphone its capable of. Not stock but once u actually jailbrake there is a whole other world out there.
This two phone what you want to choose from, are not in the same category.
The LG KP500 is a much more cheaper device, which has a closed OS, and it has just the necessary (ordinary) functions. It doesn't have a 3G, or an AF camera, and it also doesn't have HSPDA.
The Omnia II is much more expensive, but a full High-Tech PDA, which has WM 6.1. It has almost everything - 3G, HSDPA/HSUPA, 5MP AF camera.

the Verizon Omnia 2 actually is way faster. I don't know if for some reason they put less ram on that version. I have one it's amazing. You can (if you want) run the droids software on the Omnia 2 and it is just as fast (or at least almost as fast) as it is on the actual Droid obviously you have to use the Droids on screen keyboard to type though. I might post a video on how to.

Samsung is giving you the future today by selling OLED displays. I mean OLED aren't really mainstream in the TV panels yet because of prohibitive cost infrastructure.
So, I wouldn't be to upset at the Omnia II price tag. If Samsung with Verizon sell the phone for around 250 with a 2 year contract 100 dollar rebate, I'll sell my soul to Verizon.
You can adjust the speed setting to maximum in order to decrease lag on the Omnia 2. However, the side effect of incresed speed will be battery life. So pick your poison. Obvioulsy, I will choose a shorter battery life for less lag.

they should work on the touch screen response. i have the omnia 1 and i thought they would've fixed that with the omnia 2. guess not. overall 7/10 and im being very modest with that.
Spec for spec this thing should be killing the HTC TP2 and Imagio, but when you SEE how they run in demos here on the net......the Samsung is ridiculously laggy. I couldn't stand that. The HTC's are about as good as resistive is gonna get. Closest thing to capacitive response.

Samsung OMNIA II could be the choice for you with its 800MHz processor but it might come very expensive. I bought Samsung Jet last night, similar hardware to OMNIA II including 800MHz processor and runs like a bullet. really fast phone and does all you want. I highly recommend it and its much cheaper.

Have you ever used Mobile Shell 3? It runs with lots of widgets across 3 screens on my Touch HD (a slower device) and stays smooth. Who said anything about online widgets? We are talking about just using the device in general not the updating of online information on the widgets
This video is about the TouchWiz UI which is what I commented on. You are right, on the next video it shows a software tour and the phone is nippy but this video on THE TOUCHWIZ UI is slow and laggy. After seeing the full review I am impressed by this phone I just feel that TouchWiz is to slow and the widgets much to big. The hero sufferes the same problem. When I said "who's talking about ONLINE widgets" that was aimed at your slow server comment which has nothing to do with my original post
it looks like the screen isn't that sensitive, takes quite a bit of effort to drag the widget to the centre. call me old fashion, i still prefer all the widgets line up on the home screen and double tap to activate the function
Im actually excited to see the HTC Hero software tour, my cell phone contract ends in september and i'm still trying to descide between the HTC Touch Diamond 2(it comes out in August in the US), the HTC Hero or maybe even the Palm Pre
it looks a little laggy sometimes and the touch screen doesnt seem as good as the iphone. doesnt flow as well in my point. but i dont really know.... :)

Could you show these people how to remove the Samsung TouchWiz home screen interface on Windows Mobile 6.5.
Start > Settings > Display > Items on Today > uncheck Samsung touchWiz.
You can now use the standard Windows mobile 6.5 with the option to use the Samsung menu by pressing the main hardware button.

Good phone. The Samsung Omnia 2 will be my next phone. I definitely need it for using Twitter and surfing the net on the go as well as checking my Email.

You dont have to have internet subscription for the PDA to use WIFI. You just need a place where is WIFI.

Samsung is giving you the future today by selling OLED displays. I mean OLED aren't really mainstream in the TV panels yet because of prohibitive cost infrastructure.
So, I wouldn't be to upset at the Omnia II price tag. If Samsung with Verizon sell the phone for around 250 with a 2 year contract 100 dollar rebate, I'll sell my soul to Verizon.

You can adjust the speed setting to maximum in order to decrease lag on the Omnia 2. However, the side effect of incresed speed will be battery life. So pick your poison. Obvioulsy, I will choose a shorter battery life for less lag.

they should work on the touch screen response. i have the omnia 1 and i thought they would've fixed that with the omnia 2. guess not. overall 7/10 and im being very modest with that.

Spec for spec this thing should be killing the HTC TP2 and Imagio, but when you SEE how they run in demos here on the net......the Samsung is ridiculously laggy. I couldn't stand that. The HTC's are about as good as resistive is gonna get. Closest thing to capacitive response.
Sammy's UI is far from impressive IMHO.

I would have gotten this phone if it wasn't 7 times more expensive than my iphone 3G 8gb.
this phone needs more apps to compete with the iphone. apps will make or break. I had a pocket pc back in 1999 and only stopped using it when i got my iphone because the pocket pc (now windows mobile) has thousands and thousands and thousands of apps.

I'm on the market for a new phone... I want to get the Nokia N97, but i've heard that it's not a good phone. My dad has a Iphone and i hate it :P the Samsung Omnia looks like it lags allot so i don't want that.... Anyone got any sugesstions? I want a deecent phone that i can use as a MP3, Browser and a camera. Of coure calling and txting :D.

the touch pro 2 is rumored to be coming out this week, you could pick that up and try it out in-store.
also the storm 2 is supposedly arriving the first week of october so you may want to play with it then too

Samsung OMNIA II could be the choice for you with its 800MHz processor but it might come very expensive. I bought Samsung Jet last night, similar hardware to OMNIA II including 800MHz processor and runs like a bullet. really fast phone and does all you want. I highly recommend it and its much cheaper.

its not laggy i bought the phone if u place tooooooo many widgets it will other than that its fine! fantastic video quality rich colours and good sound playback... BUT WHAT I NEED TO NOE IS HOW DO I CHANGE THAT OTHER TWO HOMESCREEN WITH THE GI JOE WALLPAPERS ITS!!!!!! CAN ANY ONE HELP ME??

O My God Why are the widgets so MASSIVE the unit converter should be a small widget & when u click on it it should open up, WHY does Samsung create MASSIVE widgets they should create ones like Android / SPB Mobile shell 3, Samsung needs to get in the real world & sort them selfs out, this is my next phone but with Widgets 5 times the size they need to be I will be very disappointed..

with this hardware and its 800MHz processor, dedicated graphics accelerator its suppose to be one of the fastest mobiles out there!!!but this shows how the OS+samsung UI FAIL. probably the UI since other wm devices like HTC's are much more responsive nice review.

For your information if you missed the topic, this video is about Widgets and does not represent the whole UI.Check out the Software Review and u will see the Software is no way laggy and Touchflo is BS. HTC doesn´t even have Widgets, just wether and stocks, not really customizable. BTW you can change the software but not the Hardware and HTC is real piece of shit especially at Mutlimedia like video playback and gaming, which tortures the Hardware.

Have you ever used Mobile Shell 3? It runs with lots of widgets across 3 screens on my Touch HD (a slower device) and stays smooth. Who said anything about online widgets? We are talking about just using the device in general not the updating of online information on the widgets

This video is about the TouchWiz UI which is what I commented on. You are right, on the next video it shows a software tour and the phone is nippy but this video on THE TOUCHWIZ UI is slow and laggy. After seeing the full review I am impressed by this phone I just feel that TouchWiz is to slow and the widgets much to big. The hero sufferes the same problem. When I said "who's talking about ONLINE widgets" that was aimed at your slow server comment which has nothing to do with my original post

it looks like the screen isn't that sensitive, takes quite a bit of effort to drag the widget to the centre. call me old fashion, i still prefer all the widgets line up on the home screen and double tap to activate the function

it should be better in the future with 6.5. but don't you think it should still be faster and more responsive than it is now, especially since 6.1 is pretty much "perfected" already? It just seems so unresponsive compared to their other phones.
