I really like these cars from nissan, but what i absolutely hate is automatic transmission...car without clutch pedal is for my grand parents, you need no skill to drive such a car and its pretty boring.

@LeviNinetyone Porsche is amazing and ALWAYs will be the best IMO, but dont take away from what the GTR is. It's an amazing machine, that ALMOST keeps up with a Porsche Turbo S for about 60k less. GTR is the best bang for buck and will be for a LONG LONG TIME. What is the point in having all that speed if it takes no skill to control? It is more fun to go out and buy a Ferrari 360, Dodge Viper, or even a C5 Z06 because you actually drive the damn car, this is nothing more than a video game made car. The main problem with the GTR is it's price puts it out of reach from its main fanbase. When you start talking close to 100k with taxes included you need to be bringing more than just speed to the table, you can get a 10 sec car on ebay for under 45k

In a Veyron, you don't always get 1000hp from a standstill, it will back off because of traction.
Both the Veyron and the GTR are putting down power effectively, however in terms of power, the GTR is putting it down just as effective as a Veyron with nearly half the horsepower.
Of course 2.7 seconds is after some e-tuning.
The GTR will get a consistent low 3 second range.

I don't see a possibillity for any type of gain when bearing in mind that the manual shift has to happen within 2.something seconds, ie the computer is faster and more precise anyhow.
For example,when you brake,and take the turn,then full throttle,"automated transmission" will not downshift as fast as the driver,'cause the computer doesn't know what the driver wants,you can see that in videos on track with GTR,and full automated transmission will get you bored sometimes.

If you clear a bump and leave the surface of the road and change at this time, you will witness the rev recoil whereas if you leave the gear until you touch the surface again, it will be faster to gear up. It is factually faster, not just theoretically.

Even Chuck Norris launching his car from zero on road surface would break a sweat if he had to determine all the variable factors to get that "upshift" just right: perfect knowledge of surface, perfect feel for distance, perfect timing, perfect execution. Anyway, a GT-R shouldn't take flight! Look for a better road.
@MikeTuanNguyen The official Nissan time is 2.8. It did a 7:24.22 on the nurburgring in the wet. Nissan retuned the launch control because idiots kept on tearing up the drivetrain. So after four consistent launches it goes into lock out and has to be driven a couple of miles to cool down. As with all awd cars. The weak link is tranny.
i am sorry this car is not on a stock factory tune. there is no way the gtr does a 0-60 in 2.7sec. i thought is was stock because of the title. then when the video starts it clearly states that it has a hp logic tune. i am not really a fan of the R35 looks. the front is nice the back is beautiful but from the side and the sharp slant in the roof. is just a turn off. R34 will be by far my favorite skyline. as with all skyline's. their awd tranny is ridiculous one of the best in the world.
A Bugatti Veyron does 0-100 km/h in 2.4 seconds but it has wheelspin of the line. GTR is composed though. If car manufacturers can learn to keep the launch clean then it'll be faster than the GTR of the line.
The car is shit. They just slapped on a bunch of computer systems and called the car fast. Take them all off and face a Viper on the ring. It'll destroy the GTR (and already has)

@netxposeidon 911 turbo s with pdk is faster at stock, but it's amazing how they put this heavy car to accelerate so fast, the only thing that sucks that it's a nissan, doesn't look like a supercar or feel like a race car. i wouldnt even call the backseats backseats, they're mainly for insurance purposes and also cheaper for them to import a 4 seater instead of a 2 seater car, sure people can sit in the back, but comfortably you have to be short / slim
i never understand how nissan is able to make such powerful car with four seats. But if Nissan were to make 2 seats with less weight and Refined Engine at same price, LFA, Porch, ect would not stand a chance in power and marketing wise.

The Nismo track model is fastest doing 0-60 in 4.7 sec with a professional driver... Even a twin turbo 370 could not hold a candle to the stock 2012 GTR nuff said. IF a downpipe is added to the GTR in this video with the cobb ap tune, it'll add another 25 hp, lower 0-60mph to 2.5 tieing the fastest street car in the world the Veyron Super Sport..

@rapinNtapin All of the evidence I've encountered, tells me that it is empirically demonstrable that these cars are very reliable, a friend had a 1995 Nissan Almera GTI, it was a well built car, with a very stiff floor pan, & we fucking thrashed it with camshaft duration upgrades and lots of other bolt on stuff, and the only thing that went wrong after 3 years of daily abuse, was a mass airflow transducer, & the car was already 12 years old. Using a computer is more effective, the end.

ALL have been disappointing and fall apart in less than 3 yrs. Short shelf-life im afraid. Even Mercedes Benz lost their reputation for a short while when merging with Chrysler because the Americans wanted more profit and claimed that Benz cars a "over-engineered" and thus, made rubbish quality cars.

The thing is, the Veyron just has too much power. So from a standstill, it isn't efficiently putting the power down on the road.
The GTR however uses a **** load of electronics to adapt to road conditions that give you the best driving experience.

In a Veyron, you don't always get 1000hp from a standstill, it will back off because of traction.
Both the Veyron and the GTR are putting down power effectively, however in terms of power, the GTR is putting it down just as effective as a Veyron with nearly half the horsepower.
Of course 2.7 seconds is after some e-tuning.
The GTR will get a consistent low 3 second range.
Let's dumb it down, the Veyron is fast and quick. The GTR is just quick.

@DJFranTECH Given the fact that automated transmissions, wether it is dual-clutch or the usualtype, are set up to up-shift automatically at "peak rpm", please care to explain why exactly a manual override of an automated gearbox full throttle shifting sequence should bring about a perforamance increase. I don't see a possibillity for any type of gain when bearing in mind that the manual shift has to happen within 2.something seconds, ie the computer is faster and more precise anyhow.

@zurdo85XIX If launch control is executed on a varying surface, it is easier, safer and quite possibly faster to let the human determine at which point the gear change should happen regardless of the RPM peaking if incorrectly done so. If you clear a bump and leave the surface of the road and change at this time, you will witness the rev recoil whereas if you leave the gear until you touch the surface again, it will be faster to gear up. It is factually faster, not just theoretically.

@MikeTuanNguyen The official Nissan time is 2.8. It did a 7:24.22 on the nurburgring in the wet. Nissan retuned the launch control because idiots kept on tearing up the drivetrain. So after four consistent launches it goes into lock out and has to be driven a couple of miles to cool down. As with all awd cars. The weak link is tranny.

i am sorry this car is not on a stock factory tune. there is no way the gtr does a 0-60 in 2.7sec. i thought is was stock because of the title. then when the video starts it clearly states that it has a hp logic tune. i am not really a fan of the R35 looks. the front is nice the back is beautiful but from the side and the sharp slant in the roof. is just a turn off. R34 will be by far my favorite skyline. as with all skyline's. their awd tranny is ridiculous one of the best in the world.

A Bugatti Veyron does 0-100 km/h in 2.4 seconds but it has wheelspin of the line. GTR is composed though. If car manufacturers can learn to keep the launch clean then it'll be faster than the GTR of the line.

Though in some cases technology does distance the driver from driving in the GTR it's different, which is why a group of 25 professional car reviewers at motor trend ranked it as the second best drivers car in the world. That group included two world champion race car drivers.

The Nismo track model is fastest doing 0-60 in 4.7 sec with a professional driver... Even a twin turbo 370 could not hold a candle to the stock 2012 GTR nuff said. IF a downpipe is added to the GTR in this video with the cobb ap tune, it'll add another 25 hp, lower 0-60mph to 2.5 tieing the fastest street car in the world the Veyron Super Sport..

It's not all about power and power to weight, it's about how you PUT down the power. AWD vs RWD, DCT trans, what else? @rapinNtapin All of the evidence I've encountered, tells me that it is empirically demonstrable that these cars are very reliable, a friend had a 1995 Nissan Almera GTI, it was a well built car, with a very stiff floor pan, & we fucking thrashed it with camshaft duration upgrades and lots of other bolt on stuff, and the only thing that went wrong after 3 years of daily abuse, was a mass airflow transducer, & the car was already 12 years old. Using a computer is more effective, the end.
