Both the original and this cover are phenomenal! The nice thing is they put their own twist on it. A cover is to honour a beautiful piece of music, and that is what the Foo Fighters did. Adding their own twist made it their own, and I 100% respect both Paul and the Foos. They both played a wonderful song, and we should respect the Foo Fighters' taste in music, not beak them on how it doesn't sound the same. IT SHOULDN'T. NO COVER SHOULD

In Thank god that fooeys did this cover not guns n roses (though they were the best cover band). I would still rather go to local bar and listen to a band who does covers than paying for guns n roses. SLASH is cool. Axl Rose or Oral sex sucks. This is a good rendition by a newer band that obviously has some talent. It's a lot harder sounding, but it works - good job Foo Fighters.

I like how they respectfully included footage as dedication to the music of the past.

This song and video show some taste - not like other remakes which deystroy the feeling, such as Limp Biskit's shitty version of The Who's Bihind Blue Eyes.

I still like The Wings original version better, but I applaud The Foo Fighters for their version also.

I don't get this hate. Wings are phenomenal, Paul McCartney is phenomenal, David Grohl is phenomenal, Foo Fighters are phenomenal, and music is music. It's as if the music doesn't even matter, only a competition of who is better than who. Does this sound like the wings? No way. Does it suck? No way. It's all subjective really (like you pointed out - just your opinion). It doesn't matter if you feel Mcartney sucked or was the second coming yet I'm interested to learn more. Do you feel his "talent" sucked - that he had no ability to create or compose music and should have been cleaning up after livestock instead? That kind of sucked? Or, do you just not care for his style of music? I tend to like more heavy music myself but it seems obvious that his talent and musical ability is incredible.

@ploopterfarm When he was tempered by others in the Beatles he was as good as they come. When left to his own devices he sold out for the allmighty British pound sterling. Like yourself I like lean to harder, more mature stuff, ie. Allman Bros, Bob Dylan, LZ, Moody Blues, ZZ Top, Black Sabbath, etc. but I do have a soft spot for gentler music, James Taylor, Don McClean (sp), Elton John and the likes. To answer your question...No I do not like his post Beatle music. It sucks very badly.

Wow! Just stumbled across this whilst getting my fix of Rope to keep me going until the new album is released.

Like many have said, you'll never beat the original Wings version of this, it's a classic, but Foo Fighters have sure as hell give it their best shot. It's hard to respect the original yet still give it the flavour of the covering band but I think FF have struck a beautiful balance and I've got to respect them for that. Big thumbs up from me :o)
