  • They bloody well ROCK! IronAussie

  • doogie!!! love you

  • cant hear it

  • Comment removed

  • this sucks bigtime

  • Dude you f***ked up the vocal on this track took the whole mood right out of it . Sorry

    This happened Gillian

  • I was in high school and went to see Rainbow open up for Blue Oyster Cult, Dio had just left (We did not know he was no longer in the band) and they had this disco suit scarf warring homo (Graham Bonnet) as the lead singer. This was in the late 70’s early 80’s, they were booed off stage. Black more broke the neck off of his guitar and threw it in the audience and walked off stage and played the rest of the concert from back stage.

  • @Zc7578 lol... Dio was really their best singer...

  • Dio still all time great . Can't get away from it . My opinion , not knockin anyone elses, each to their own !

  • Amazing!!!

  • What a great band! Great singer, great keyboardist and THE guitar player! God bless Blackmore! Dio was great, Gillan was great but this guy really rocks!

  • Doogie was probably the best vocalist Rainbow had since Ronnie Dio left. But, I feel this is just Ritchie missing the Deep Purple years and line up. If Ritchie had recruited Doogie to Purple, then he would probably be playing with Purple still.

  • Best: DPurple with Blackmore when IG had his voice. Solid 2nd Rainbow. Last: Deep P without Blackmore. Which is not to call Steve Morse a bad guitarist! But Ian has not nearly the voice he did and the whole band mix of DP minus Blackmore just does not mix well. Pardon my pun, but there you are ... imo

  • Yes, I know all the Ronnie James Dio and Graham Bonnet and Joe Lynn Turner years, but I was not even aware that Blackmore reformed Rainbow again after leaving Purple second time round. I wrongly assumed that he went straight into Blackmore's Night.

  • this song is best done by DEEP PURPLE,specially if the singer is IAN GILLAN!

  • Hope they gave away tickets for this show.

  • The life expectancy of remaining in a band with Blackmore...about 1 album or less.

  • @zomby88 yup, more or less i believe!i heard blackmore is difficult to work with!

  • @zomby88

1 album or less? totally wrong.. he had atleast 3 or 4 albums with Rainbow, u must be too young not to know dat~

  • his voice fits this song alot better then. hall of the mountain king

  • @smithdsmit Great cover but nothing beats Sabotage.

  • Never knew Blackmore reformed Rainbow after leaving Deep Purple again! Thought he went straight into Blackmore's Night. Did they do any albums with this line up, or was this short lived?

  • @neilgedd

r u kidding me, they made a lot of great stuffs with Rainbow, like 'temple of the king' sounds familiar?

  • Gillian smokes this clown.

    V V

  • someone knows which line-up in this performace?

  • lin-up from Stranger in us all

  • Ritchie Blackmore - Guitar

    Doogie White - Vocals

    John O'Reilly - Drums

    Greg Smith - Bass guitar

    Paul Morris - Keyboards

  • @xfirenzeregnax Chuck Burgi on drums. Candice Night on backing vocals.

  • I like this version, Blackmore should reunite Rainbow with this line up again

  • cnat be purple without Gillan...or without Paice...od without Glover...Deep Purple is a team od masters of hard rock classic...Gillan Paice Glover Blackmore Lord...

  • This isn't Deep Purple either...it's Rainbow...

  • lord and blackmore are the deep purple yeye

gillan is a great vocalist but the soul of purple are them..

  • After the 'Perfect Strangers' tour, Ritchie played rubbish, and was far from the soul at that time. Back in the 70's and during the first reunion tour YES, but after that NO.

  • its so ridiculous its not even funny. this version totally sucks. Blackmore is great, but this line up sucked big time to all purple fans. Leave it to purple to show how its done.

  • ..Fuck right off samgee2007,you fuckin retard!

  • Gillan is the master!!!!

  • thats right dude

  • so blackers plays a strat lordy plays a hammond c3 and gillan rips a vocal

how can that make gillan shit???

oh and i do believe that glover plays a good bass and paice keeps a decent

beat on the skins put them all on a stage and then you have DEEP PURPLE

a five guy unit i think (fabasta your a wanker i think you know fuck all about music)

  • Paice keeps a decent beat? I do believe you're the fucking wanker that knows fuck all about music. Paicey is rock and rolls Buddy Rich, there's a reason why he's survived for so long and heralded in all circles as a fucking genius. Lets see you keep up with the Fireball intro with one pedal in 6 inch platform boots (listen live, studio version was done with 2, also with Keith Moons kickdrum.) Long story short, shut your fucking mouth when talking about Deep Purple in any bad light.

  • si tienes razon .................... LORD es el señor de los teclados y BLACKMORE es guitarrista de purple no la weaa q esta ahora !!!

    Gillan is nothing !!!

  • deep purples is much better

  • this version is better than deep purple's version now with morse, but back in the day no one could better purple, i just love blackmore

  • Doogie's german accent is great indeed, luv it

  • Sadly Gillan's voice is shot . He hasnt been able to sing since the 80's . Thats why Blackmore left Purple . But i would agree Gillan sang this much better

  • is richie using a floyd rose??anyone no??

  • no,he didn´t use Floyd Rose at any time of his career......he just stayed used to the old fender Vontage Vibrato System or to the newer American Modern version......but I´d like to know what´s that black box on his guitar behind the bridge....

  • So would I. I wonder what is that black box for.... Richie Black moore Kick ass!!

  • I believe it is a pickup for a guitar-synthesizer pedal... It looks like one of those anyway...

  • The black box is called a Blackmoriser..

    No shit !

  • look, this is a Deep Purple song. Ian Gillan`s version is more passionate and chilling than this good, but insipid rendition. That`s it...Blackmore, get back to where you once belonged!

  • Sorry to say that this version is better than purple`s...

  • it's quite amusing to see how people are apologizing for saying that to them one version of a song is better than another as they would state something universally valid.. such as newton's axioms..

to me deep purple's version (with morse) is better - who cares, that's just my opinion and not a principle.

  • agreed.

  • Gruesome vocs by Doogie White. A shame for Gillan.

  • turkish cem köksal very good!

  • Doogie's German accent? I know some people make comparisons between Scots and Germans, but he's definitely a Scot and not a German!

  • i like this !! !

  • Doogie's german accent is great :D
