  • Thank God i'm Russian and i'm able to read it in original. It's uncomparable with just English translation...

  • That's the letter that every woman would like to receive from their lover. Astonishing.THANK YOU :))

  • oh my god, the part when he came to her house begging her. heart wrenching.

  • Why isn't Ralph reading the letter - he is the perfect Onegin?

  • I have just watched this Onegin movie on Youtube but the letter Onegin wrote to Tatyana was in prose. Tatyana's was as well. Why? Thanks.

  • That's a good question.

The novel "Eugene (Yevgeniy) Onegin" is written by Alexander Pushkin in verse in Russian. The plot is important but these are the melody and rhyme which are brilliant. There are about 15 different translations of it. In the movie the plot was just retold in prose. In my opinion, the acting is very good and it helps to keep Pushkin's spirit.

  • thanks

  • @cotvsapogax - probably the makers wanted it to be more realistic, so they rewrote it without rhymes. As well as all the dialogue (which btw I think is a great decision, because it's such a realistic, human story).

  • cant stop losten---beautiful words--omg so sad ((((
