@xxxprayerexxx - thank you for your question. Just to clarify, when possible always sit the skirtings on top of the floor. This allows you to have an expansion gap around the floor and the skirtings will hide it.
I'm planning on laying some wood flooring in the near future and want to remove the skirting boards. Found your tutorial very helpful. Thanks for sharing :-)

You lay the flooring to the skirting... You don't put the skirting boards on top of the floor!
