Kaze's name literally means "Black Wind", Kumo's name literally means "White Cloud"...Makenshi means "Demon Swordsman", which Kumo is often referred to as by other characters...so ya...it's strange that that's their names...

I don't know for sure...And I can't remember what Madoushi's whole name is, although "Kiri" is part of it...which I'm pretty sure means "to cut"...Something to find out though :D

How do you ever find out their real names, if Kumo and Kiri are their real names? I've seen some english epis and all of the Japanese episodes but all they call Kiri and Kumo are Madoushi and Makenshi. Do you find out their names in one of the books they wrote/radio drama did about the series?

@GuillyGuiledDragon yeah every body just called him kaze, in the japanese version it was kuroki kaze which is black wind... so i don't think he's ever called be his name. :'( poor kaze he never found out what his name was.

@GuillyGuiledDragon It pops up in the anime dub in the episode preview where fabula tells about the next chapter. It's written in japanese but if you have subs on it translates it. She says Madoushi and the hiragana on screen is: The battle between Kiri and Kumo.
