  • Beautiful song about looking back and wondering perhaps what might have been. "I got a funny feeling we missed a page or two somehow..." Also, it could be a lament on growing up and getting married/having kids, etc. and then discovering that it's not what you thought it would be...

  • This is one of Suzy's best songs! They don't make music like this anymore or even play the good "classic" videos on CMT:( I'm country at heart and I thrive on the stuff from the 80s and 90s:)

  • oh my gosh..i feel like im 12 years old again listening to this song!! I remember this was popular then and i loved it! it reminds me of riding in my dads old 1980's truck listening to it! thank you for uploading!!

  • ALL the best music has its roots in good soulful country music.

  • the good old girls of country todays music is not good like them little big town i like rodney akins new song i like but i miss the old girls of country reba faith suzy pam to me they are the girls of county

  • moms wedding songs

  • Country music during the 1980's was outstanding, country radio seems to falling by the wayside as country stations suddenly disappear and become talk radio stations without fanfare.

  • Suzy is a babe!

  • Nope.. no music like this today.. just listen to the second verse and all it tells you in a few lines

"From Older but no more the wise... to bicycles rust in the rain"

NOBODY writes lyrics like this today hardly.. and seems the late 80's and 90's were full of these type songs.. from country to rock.. lol

Maybe it's just because I'm finaly older but no more the wise!!

  • OMG I CAN NOT BELIEVE I FOUND THIS VIDEO-THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING

  • Hey Cinderella:.... listen to the words.. very impressive

  • @ericsully22 and so true

  • She needs to come back.. great voice and song writer...

  • wait..this was on VH1? i didnt know that channel ever played country music

  • I loved this song when it came out in 1993. Suzy Bogguss has a great voice & writes & sings great songs.

  • I had the biggest crush on her when she started. but this is true country music.

  • Suzy's voice is like Alison Krauss' in that it's so beautiful and so pure it can just bring tears to your eyes instantly. Incredible then, and just as incredible when she sings today.

  • I totally have goosebumps listening to this. One of my favorite songs as a kid, haven't heard it in years. THIS is the country I remember.

  • OMG I had such a mad crush on Suzy Bogguss! Soooo gorgeous!

  • Hey Hey Suzy...thanks for the memories...Where did this country music go to. Today's cannot compare...no how, no way.

  • Country music today isn't country.

  • CMT was on channel 20 on cable that got me into all this :)

  • I'm not a big fan but that's no slight to Suzy Boguss. I'm just not familiar with her music or a lot of the newer country for that matter. This may sound shallow but God damn she is one helluva good looking woman. I don't think there's a prettier face in all of country music and that's saying something because there are a lot of good looking women in country music. I wish I could see up close.

  • Love this song loved your performance with the girls in Leamington (sunny England) lol!!! :D

  • 90s Country at its finest. Its in such sad shape now. I so love this sound and one of the best singers ever.

  • Her face and voice could cure the worst hang over I every had.

  • I miss the true clasic country of her time, i rember blasting hers and others going down the road in my car. what happened? but here i can hear them any time thanks

  • @101arrest

What happened? Garth Brooks made demands, and got most of Capitol Record's promotional budget.

When Suzy came back from having a child and cutting a record with Chet Atkins, she no longer had the

access to the 'a-list' songs that she used to be able to demand. Soon she, Clint Black, Billy Dean and

other top artists were shown the door. At that time ( 1998 ), Capitol Nashville was being run by a Mr.

Quigley, a former liquor marketing executive. Jimmy Bowen was also victimized.

  • A great song although somewhat sad.

However, Suzy Bogguss is a very, very beautiful lady.

    Floriańska6

  • i so miss hearing this woman on the radio these days!

  • Her eyes tear a hole in me.

  • Nothing will ever compare to the country I grew up with in the 90s. Back when Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn, Reba McEntire, and others dominated country music with hit song after hit song, fantastic video after fantastic video and lets face facts, there are some good musicians out there now, but nothing will ever compare

  • @Demon1Jay i agree i grew up listing to this stuff. I was in my early teens when these songs came out. i wish the artist of today would produce music like this. todays country has to many rock pop infulences. i got a xfm radio for my car just so i could get the country station that plays all the good hits of the early 90s. the new stuf is good but not as good as the stuff from this erra

  • @Demon1Jay reba and ronnie still are big, but the surrounding atmosphere is bleh

  • @Demon1Jay You are so right, you just said it all!!!!!!!

  • a great song and a beautiful video ! :)

  • Too bad Suzy didn't get a record deal until the mid 90's. she was in her mid 30's by then.she could have been more popular if country music had gone mainstream earlier. at least she is still around making music

  • filmed at the ringling museums about 2 miles from my house

wish i would have known she was there

  • Someday soon those old shoes in the closet may fit our dreams once again.

  • Fantastic voice and a very beautiful lady.

    florianska6

  • Hey Cinderella, I keep coming back to find that lost page and I'm never disapointed.

  • Taylor Swift can;t hold Suzy a light She is a hijacker Suzy is true country voice and song's she sing's have a meaning and a true country flavor Taylor Swift Is more of a teenie pop Like the rest of the one's being pushed on the radio and they call it country but you can't fool the country fan's

  • DUH

  • not Nashville - it is the greed of record companies. they just want to carry a few artists that sell BIG - then they drop them when sales drop. In years past, all the labels carried many more artists then they do now.

  • @meemo1947 you do have a good point...i hadnt thought about that.

  • i love the counrty of the 90's that to me was real country music not liek today but a few song like little big town with little white church is good

  • Suzy Bogguss, Emmylou Harris & Anne Murray-they could sing unlike the crap that Nashville puts out now

  • @NOUNZYKRANZA idk if you've heard of her, but there's a really obscure country singer by the name of tammy rogers. she's mostly been a studio musician (fiddle player) but released 3 solo albums from 1995 to 1999. some of her noteworthy songs include "going for a drive", "you will miss me" "yesterday's kisses", "whiplash" (instrumental), and "coming home" (instrumental). she joined a group known as The Steeldrivers in 2008. in your spare time i hope you can check out some of her music :)

  • @244tristian Thanks I will & I can`t wait! I love discovering artists I don`t know

  • @NOUNZYKRANZA so have u got to listen to her? if so, what do you think?

  • those were the doys when country music was at its best!! i still listen to all the OLD country music..not too much into the new age country

  • I used to think this gal woz the best thing since Dolly Parton. Her voice woz so WOW. Still do actually!!. :).

  • NICE VOICE!!!!!!GOD BLESS!!!!!!PLUS U LOOK LIKE SOMEONE I KNOW!!!!!!!!

  • Suzy hit #5 in Billboard, 2-26-94. God bless!

  • I miss youI give up!Letting godomeant so much to me! MY Baby Daughter and my Mm...

  • I KNOW THIS WOMAN AND HAVE BEEN A FAN OF HER'S SINCE AGE 9!!

  • she is 10,000 degrees hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Big tease

  • "Maybe I am blue. Maybe I'm crazy too. But I'll always love you, cross my broken heart." X

  • shwbdead21 said it all,Nashville has ruined country with the Taylor Swift, She hasn't paid her dues to be in the company as Suzy Bogguss ,Mary Chapin Carpenter.and the great ladies of the 60's to the 90's,,,sor1949

  • @1949sorful i agree we need more pam more suzy more mary faith hill from when she relased stuff in the early to mid 90s reba also from the early to mid 90s everything now is junk on the radio xfm radio satelite for your car has a really great country station all they play is music from the early 90s to 200 they play a huge mix everyday and you wont be disapointed at all. and its worth the investment my reaciver was only 19.99 and service for like 6 months is only 60 bucks

  • @hyechica81 Hey thanks for the reply and the information on the xfm radio satelite music. Yes some these ladies are a bit older, but they still can out doa....(faylor swift) anyday. Again thank you..1949sorful...steve

  • great --one of suzy's best--thjs is great!!!! HEY BILL

  • This is one of my favorite songs of 90s country. Suzy Bogguss has it all. She is a fantastic singer, a great musician, and more beautiful than ANY woman in country music today.

  • @extrasouth She certainly is, and WOW she makes is look so easy!

  • I saw her live last night in Henderson NV. She still sounds and looks as good as ever. I met her after the show and had a picture taken with her (half of it turned out great). She is a very nice, down to earth person. She is touring soon, and if you get the chance, go see her!

  • This song reminds me of my life. Good song but sad at the same time.

  • I love this music! I'm with yall!! Nothing new beats this

  • Suzy Bogguss never got the credit she deserved. I love her voice, and, the songs she picked to sing. Tristian said right. I wish we could bring back '90s country music. The differences in talent between then and now are staggering. Most of what passes for country music nowadays is nothing more than half-assed, third-rate Southern rock. Some of it is even worse than that.

  • I love this song!!!! thank you!!!!

  • Taylor Swift is talented, to be sure. But, having said that, seeing her onstage, I remember the same moves from Joan Jett in the 80'S.

In my single opinion, that is not country.

  • I grew up listening to this song but never seen the video...

    wow she has beautiful eyes.

  • damn she's pretty =D

  • great country music like this is dead, today its more "pop" or "hip hop" or whatever it is that they call it....CMT is no better than what MTV has become,a joke!

  • Love this song Susy

  • wow, this era in country music was great..........i dont know,EVERYTHING seems to be getting worse these days!

  • @ZUFALL2938 It's the damn government. They want to dumb every new generation down so nobody will want to revolt against the damn corruption that we are stuck with.

  • Beautiful, Sexy, and a terrific voice. What's not to love.

  • smart song :)

  • Thanks for posting! I used to love this song & video

  • WHO IS THE SOLE SOUL WHO HATES THIS VIDEO?

  • @HEBisreal

    That's not a sole soul, that's an R Soul.

  • @HEBisreal its ok,he missed the like button

  • Song is almost twenty years old but just a refreshing and enjoyable today.Makes me long for yesterday when life was more carefree and easy

  • WOW! WOW! WOW!

  • One fo the most under rated singer in the world.... beautiful voice.....

  • SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TRUE !!!!!!!!!!!

  • So what ever became of Suzy anyway?

  • @JBodine67 I was excited to see she is appearing in Cleveland at Cain Park this summer. Can't wait!

  • it has been years since i last heard this. brings back memories and makes me a bit nostalgic. Damn, i miss the 90's!

  • I remember this Great song

  • yeah foor sure

  • This was one my many favorite songs growing up.

  • talk about a classic, you never hear stuff this good on the radio these days. It's all that fake, plastic, airbrushed pop shit.

  • I love 80's and 90's country. I don't know what that stuff is called on the radio today.

  • Amen. What happened to all the work done my George, Reba, Garth, Clint, Suzy, Alan and Mark. Country has once again lost its way wtih the new breed.

  • I love this song. Suzy was the first country music artist I liked. Besides of course Patsy Cline.

  • great voice and a beautiful woman

  • This song was my introduction to Suzy B - us Brits only had CMT for 3 years or so, but I have acquired Suzy's back catalogue. A truely beautiful voice., but sadly ignored by the counrty music maestros in favour of the glamourous tarts who cannot sing, but can shake their bodies.

  • @markd3107 Hell yeah, well put.

  • Who's the guy with the pumpkin on his head?

  • WOW is She Pretty!!!!!!!

  • Suzy is so hot. I'll always dig this song. Reminds me of senior year 1994. I wasn't even listening to country then.

  • The real country music fans miss Suzy Bogguss. Nashville has ruined country with Taylor Swift.

  • @shawndead21 Nah. 18 year old kids like Taylor Swift. I loved this song when I was 18. Just appreciate the tune. You shouldn't shit on another act just because you're getting old.

  • @elbob17 lol i'm 18 and i still dont like taylor swift

  • @shawndead21

Yes. Taylor Swift is the worst thing to happen to country music in the last 20 years as far as I'm concerned.

  • @shelton705 I think we have to accept the new values of country music. I like Taylor Swift and I like all country singers I`ve had the oportunity to listen.I know it`s hard but I don`t thik Taylor is that bad.she writes her own songs, she`s talented.that`s my opinion.

  • @shawndead21 This is no more 'real country" than Taylor Swift. Real country pretty much ended in the 80's, maybe Alan Jackson after that.

  • @shawndead21 and shania twain and mutt lange..........

  • @shawndead21 Taylor Swift is really pop, not country. And she's awesome. But that's my opinion, and you don't have to share it.

  • @shawndead21

I agree with u all he way about Taylor Swift

  • @shawndead21 taylor is fine !!!!

  • Love the song!!!! Where is Suzy now???

  • Those eyes...that voice!

  • thx guys

  • She sure is pretty. Sings lovely, too.

  • Reminds me of good times with friends and family. I really, really miss the 90's. Loved this song for many old years now. Thanks for the upload.

  • Great 90s Country! I miss those days with those artists...

  • I remember first seeing this video when I moved in with my grandma after my grandpa passed away during my senior year of high school. She had cable and I caught this video. Takes me back to 1994 every time I hear it. Easily one of my all time favorite songs.

  • makes me miss my childhood days

  • I hear ya

  • I had a crush on her and Patty Loveless when I was 12 years old. At almost 27, I'd still marry them both in a heartbeat haha.

  • This is Great. I always LUV SUZY BOGGUS. As a father I would watch, sing, rocking chair, listen with my DAUGTHER and compare her to DORATHY OF THE WIZARD OF OZ. I always told her Jessica, you are not in Kanasas anymore, be strong. Ya know, it worked. She is now a graduate with as a RN and continuing on to at least a PH. Assistant. OK for a country GIRL only 23.

  • "Dolls gather dust in the corner of the attic, bicycles rust in the rain." Doesn't get much better than that, does it?

  • 90's Country was Great ... i wish this music would return!

  • boy what'd i'd give to bring 90s country back! rick trevino, clay walker, david ball, tracy lawrence, pam tillis. now's that it's a new decade..90s RETURN!!!!

  • @tristian244 You are so right! 90's country was the best. Of course you should add Mary Chapin Carpenter to the list.

  • @giffeym

here's one to add: tammy rogers. i dont know if yall ever heard of her, but she has a beautiful saprano voice and can really play the fiddle! she plays fiddle for the steeldrivers band these days but when she was a solo artist...well its a shame none of her songs were successful. i guess her most famous one is "Going For A Drive", which i'd like to see the music video of uploaded soon

  • @tristian244 You left out Mary Chapin Carpenter, who appeared with Suzy when they sang Chapin's hit "He Thinks He'll Keep Her"

  • Suzy Bogguss and Sawyer Brown were the two artists that got me into country music. I guess the year was 1989 or 90. Thanks for posting.

  • Country Music radio today is only concerned with CD sales and not the actual talent of the person singing. I, too, miss country music radio of yesteryear when they played the legends of country music. There aren't too many singers today who can step in the shoes of such singers like George Strait, Ronnie Milsap, Alan Jackson just to name a few.

  • k sorry that thumbs down was an accident. i completely agree even though this generation is in my teen years. good thing is i got into country when i was a toddler in the mid-90s. 98 percent of today's artists have no talent, especially taylor swift & everyone at my school kisses her feet. now rick trevino, thats talent!

  • RIGHT, RIGHT AND MORE THAN RIGHT in you words. Ya know, Knoxville, TN with the MID-DAY MERRY-GO-ROUND was on the cutting edge of becoming what Nashville, TN has become. If you want to take a gander with your thoughts, go ROY HUSKEY JR. search. Peace to you and you'all.

  • I can't really listen to the radio anymore, its all commercials, and like some of you say, not that great, but ever since i got Sirius for my truck, that's all i listen to anymore, they have a channel on there called Prime Country, and it's 80's and 90's country music, I listen to that channel all the time, because it's a lot of the songs i remember

  • @cdk2andmdk Yeah, Prime Country plays all the songs I remember growing up to... They have started to play some from 2000-2002 now though.. makes me feel old :(

  • Comment removed

  • This song is signed by Matraca Berg, Gary Harrison and Suzy Bogguss own, so do not know if it's a classic from the 60s or not

  • @Jomalovers This song is from 1993-94. This was back when country music was more then bubblegum with a tele, boots and slide guitar.

  • @Jomalovers NOT a 60s song.

  • Well, I'll disagree with Diamond Rio, they put on a heck of a singing show. Shania, well, she pushed the limits with her body, but no doubt her and Garth were more of stage shows than singing.

  • yah i was about 5 when this came out and i knew meant even then...i would sing it so loud and i sing it even louder now...lol..i miss talent like this...they pretty and they could sing, it wasn't just appearance....good times!

  • I agree battle, Today it's a circus act, back then women had real talent.. Wonder what country music will be when the final few like George Strait, Alan, ect...fade on out....Bring back Loveless, Susie...what eyes.

  • The Young Country invasion of Diamond Rio, Garth Brooks and Shania Twain wrecked Country Music. Its all about putting on big shows and witty videos and eye candy these days. How many of these people can stand by themselves on a stage and keep your attentions without pyro-technics or taking off their clothes? ZERO

  • Man, you never hear these old songs on the radio anymore, it's all that pop/country shit now.

  • it's a sad story too. next thing you know people will b calling that damn taylor swift queen of country. that will be when true country fans go on strike! bring back the 90s!

  • As anybody who has hit 40 can attest, there is a lot of wisdom in these lyrics. Kudos to Suzy, Matraca, and Gary Stefan Harrison for a pretty song that really says something.

  • Oh yeah--and Suzy in a wedding dress? I'm renting a hall and booking a church!

  • To Heck With 40. I'm 28 and grew up on this stuff. I remember being 8-9 yrs old and seeing Suzy on CMT in the mornings. And I thought it was some of the best music then and I can't change my opinion today. By the way this was back when Toby Keith was first releasing "Should have been a Cowboy". Props to Suzy. I think she's amazing. Why don't female artist get the same recognition as male artist?

  • And the over 40 and still HOT comment. As a Christian I probably shouldn't say this, but... AMEN. And I still thought she was hot 15-20 years ago. And I wasn't even 10 yet. Ha!!!

  • Hey Christians are allowed to make comments about people being hot. God gave you eyes and the gift of sight, right?

  • Agreed.

  • I grew up on this too...same age. I miss country music like this like crazy. It's hard to even want to listen to the radio anymore...it's all these male country artists that want to be all bad-ass and everything and the women are all about girl-power and kicking butt and taking names too. And they all "yell-sing"--I miss that pure country tone in a singer's voice and solid songs. Suzy, Pattie Loveless, The Judds...we need more voices like that...

  • I don't think that you have to be 40 to know exactly what she's talking about.

  • Over 40 and still hot as hell!!

The 20 somethings in today's music can not touch her talent.

  • She has an amazing voice with amazing harmony to it. I luv her Music. Were did the talent go there sure isn't anyone who sounds like this in today's Country Music .

  • love this song

  • I am in my second marriage. I should have payed attention to the lyrics in this song!!!!

  • Amen. Just got divorced

  • love the lyrics and the symbolism in this song. i believe in the happily ever after but i also believe in hard work, dedication and determination is the only way to get it!!! no one tells the little girls that when they read them fairy stories.

  • I wish all women had the insight you do.

  • lol i wish most people had that insight! to me it doesnt seem like a hard bit of logic. but then again... i wasnt indulged as a kid. as a result i dont expect to have anything unless i work for it. same with my marriage. thank God my husband feels the same!

  • dreams and storybook endings...I still think dreams are good...but, they are dreams...

  • She is great, with her looks, voice and everything even if the song is not good I do love it. Suzy I love you.

  • White mustang, That's what I want, and a little bungalow by the beach. At this point I'll take a little hut off Gilligan's Island. I don;t care as long as it's near a beach. Oh well, a girl can dream can't she!

  • God, is she beautiful! What a talent...

  • i love this song

  • Gee whiz..I haven't heard this since I was a kid.

  • i havent heard this song in 4ever

  • Comment removed

  • Good song.

  • She's gonna be at the Strawberry Music festival this fall 2009, can't wait to see her again. Hope she plays her classics.

  • I've always dug this tune. She's so hot.

  • look at tham eyes hmmm

  • does anyone know who played the fairygodmother in this video...she is a HOOT!! Wonderful video....the early 90's was in my opinion probably some fo the very best is all of country music....so unlike today's american idol country music
