  • This is very horrible. It's extremely saddning and shameful the disconnection people have to animals, especially ones we seek to gain from. All animals are living and felling beings even farm animals. Every animals has a diffrent personality, feels emotions, wants to avoid pain, and every animal deserves to be loved and cared fir. Go dairy - free NOW !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @missresa66 and everyone else bashing the dairy industry... just b/c a few farms abuse animals, does not mean every farm does. so do not sit there and say the dairy industry is terrible. because most of those dairy farmers are the same ones producing your vegetables. if any of you would like to be educated on the dairy indiustry, let me know. i do not agree w/ animal abuse at all, but do not base the entire dairy industry on a few farms. i'm a proud dairy farmer & love what i do.

  • It's close to depressing, you can't just kill something you don't want. HORRIBLE!

  • This is so sad and horrible

It brings me to tears to think that people can be that cruel.

Animals are living things just like us humans and they dont deserve to be killed.

  • This video brought me to tears. I really don't understand how those people can actually be so cruel, I don't know how they do that sort of thing everyday. But I do know that we can help stop the slaughter of these gorgeous calves. Has no one noticed how adorable they are? It's against the law, and nature to kill other people and babies, so why is it so different to kill a poor baby calf? We need to love animals as we love each other.

  • Its beyond common sense that the dairy industry even exists, I mean, what species drinks another species' breast milk?

I'm sure if the suggestion of dog or cat milk for consumption was raised we'd all be repulsed at the thought, but what makes cows milk so different? Nothing but prejudice and ignorance.

Anyway, Dairy free alternatives are much yummier, and since becoming vegan my I've never enjoyed food more in life.

  • I dont know why humans think they own everything, Im disgusted.

  • I like how they feel the need to add to the wrongness of drinking milk /sarcasm

  • This is disgusting. The only reason animals are exploited by ppl like this is because they don't have the ability to speak. If they did, they would be screaming their heads off and standing up for themselves. I agree with chayneal, this should be compulsory viewing.

  • This should be compulsary viewing. People should be taught where their food comes from at school, rather than subjecting children to industry propaganda. The fact that somebody can easily go their entire life consuming a product without ever knowing the suffering they are inflicting on others is a failure of governments and society.

  • This is a terrible reflection on how self absorbed we are as humans that we think we better than all other species and therefore dont think we have the responsibility or compassion to speak for those who cant speak. Dont be another mindless fool and follow others who are too ignorant or arrogant to require better from themselves...do all you can to protect as many lives as you can because they are as valuable as you are!

  • These animals are forced to provide us with their milk.. and what do we do? Take their calves and slaughter them? This is just disgusting, How can someone possibley be so careless and do that to an innocent animal? I wish there was some sort of way to not be vegan and not hurt animals at the same time. Those stupid bastards who actually physically throw the calves down those shoots like in the video and throw them around like a bag of rubbish deserve the same thing to happen to them.

  • this is disgusting. what's wrong with us?

  • It's interesting that humans are the only species who not only consume milk past infancy, but consume the milk of another species. What if we had domesticated another gentle animal native to the area? What if we all drank sloth milk? Eating dairy is inherently unnatural and the industries that produce it are digustingly cruel. Going vegan is obviously the best choice for animals and for yourself!!

And trolls need to stop trolling here.

  • More people need to be aware of the truth behind the dairy industry. It's disgusting and wrong, and needs to be stopped.

  • This stuff is soul destroying. People really NEED to stop paying people to abuse animals. It's sick.

  • People need to know the truth about dairy farming. In their minds, many people still think of a kind old farmer milking his beloved old Bessie by hand every morning, then turning her loose in a spacious green field. People need to be shown the true conditions dairy cows are made to endure, and the horrifying lives of these poor unwanted calves, considered to be nothing more than waste products

Thank you Unleashed for making videos like these and showing the truth!

  • This is horrible. It's so sad the disconnection people have to animals, especially ones we seek to gain from. All animals are beautiful, even if people refuse to see it in the farm animals. Every animal has a personality, feels emotions, wants to avoid pain, and every animal deserves to be loved.

The best and most simple way you can show your love for these animals is to go vegan <3

  • I believe we can all do more for the animals on this planet...we all can make a difference together. I would like to see a way if it is possible to have dairy milk that is not cruelly produced?

  • its not the "land of milk and honey" for unwanted calves! go vegan

  • you guys are all fucken stupid cows dont even know that they left there mother they dont have feelings so you should all go to the butcher and buy some aussie steak :)

  • @monkey52105 You are very ignorant and rude. You comment makes me embarressed to be Australian. If you think "aussie steak" is good for you, or delicious, I'd LOVE to see you kill the cow yourself, or even watch it being killed. And produced for the plate of meat you dare to eat.

  • Save the cows! <3

  • help the cows!.. @};---->-----

  • I want to thank Animals Unleashed for uploading this vid because i had no idea this practice was happening. It is shocking the way these poor animals are treated and that 700,000 are discarded as waste products every year. It is hard to watch the video but i felt compelled. It makes you want to do something. The footage is confronting so maybe this could be why it attracted 2 dislikes?

  • Everyone has said it all for me, and I'm so disgusted I can't possibly right anything here but good work and lets spread this video around.

  • I am so happy I became a vegan ! I hope more people are going to realize what's really going on in the dairy industry.

  • I am so happy I became a vegan ! I hope more people are going to realize what's really going on in the dairy industry.

  • the 2 people that disliked this is out of their minds! Its appalling to see these beautiful animals treated like trash, dont these people have any hearts at all!!! there are so many substitute products for dairy and yet these poor calves have to suffer the consequences of thoughtless humans..or rather "in"humans, anyone who can watch this and not feel sad about what really is going on behind the scenes of dairy factories is either ignorant or is hateful and evil! i despise those poeple! -Seyda-

  • EVERY baby needs its mother for more than 12 hours!!!! I wish Australia would wake up to the Dairy Industries cruel and unnecessary treatment of gorgeous bobby calves..........I don't need to drink milk that badly!!!!!!

  • Having previously heard about the suffering of cows and other factory farmed animals ~ I could not bring myself to watch the video. I do donate monthly to Animals Australia & I thank you for alerting the general public to the disgusting abuse of these darling innocent animals

  • This is soo sad im sitting here balling my eyes out. Im so glad i am vegan. <3 <3 <3

  • I went vegan immediately after learning about the dairy industry. I am a mother and I couldn't bare to have my child taken away from me, starved and slaughtered.....then to do it all over again......... Who could?

I would still be consuming dairy if this information wasn't out there for us to learn from.

Please watch and learn to save these beautiful mothers and their beloved babies.

  • Treat one animal cruelly and you get fined. Treat millions of animals cruelly; emotionally and physically abuse and torture them, disfigure them, kill them as cost-effectively rather than as humanely as you can, and you get to make a living out of it. The use of the other Earthlings on this planet as food makes me very ashamed to be human. I love the work you do AA, but most people just don't want to know, they don't want to look, because that will spoil their pleasure.

  • I couldn't bare watch any more. I'm a vegan -- this is why. I'm over it. Absolutely tired of it. I will do what I can to make people aware. I don't know how dairy farmers do it. Absolutely disgusting! Good luck Animals Australia, you're doing such great stuff, it's absolutely amazing.

  • this is a wonderful video,

i hope it makes people see the truth behind the dairy industry.

  • It is interesting to see the connections between the dairy and meat/beef industries. Often people who become vegetarian still consume milk and/or other dairy products that are owned by the same companies that run the slaughterhouses. Consumers need to be aware that, if they desire to adopt a truly vegetarian lifestyle, they need to be conscious about what companies own which products and act accordingly. Adopting a vegetarian diet isn't enough; we need to live a vegetarian *LIFESTYLE*

  • Don't turn a blind eye, don't cover your ears. If you are still drinking dairy milk, then remember, for each glass you consume, one little baby calf has to go without milk, without his mother and without his life.

  • everyone should know about this. It should be on the curriculum in schools nationwide to do away with the false ideology that cows magically make milk by themselves. i even thought this up until last year..!

  • This is just 'Play School' compared to how they must feel. They deserve better.

    Go Vegan. Save the animals!

    (miranda-woops)

  • Go vegan and stop contributing to the suffering.

  • People seem to think that consuming diary is harmless but they couldn't be more wrong. The Dairy Industry is all about profit just like the meat and egg industry. We must work together to save the calves that are brutally murdered each year so society can have milk on there ceral every morning.

  • I am going to share this video with everyone I know. People dont think animals are harmed in the egg and milk industry and it is truely horrible how wrong they are.

Even if you dont go dairy free, Refrain from buying cheap milk. The lower the costs, the lower the care. If you want to buy milk (and eggs) spend the extra few dollars and vote for a less cruel method!

This is why i find the coles and woolworths milk war absolutely revolting.

    x

  • Horrendous! Imagine being pregnant, giving birth, then having your wee baby stolen, tortured and killed so that someone else can steal your baby's milk for themselves! This goes on day, after day, after day ... How rotten!

  • It would be the same if when a human mother gave birth, took her kid away and told the mother that she wasnt aloud to feed the baby, coz there is to many people in the world, so we r just picking and chosing some of them to die!

  • This is so heart wrenching! how could those people watch as they are slaughtered and killed... they must have such a heavy shadow over there heart and soul. I am now officially going vegan.... because this is just horrible... for some one to just do that to a harmless little thing... those eyes.... so full of fear... :(

never again will I eat dairy product... or meat! again!!!!!

  • I worked on a dairy farm for a short while, and I must say, it certainly opened my eyes to this kind of cruelty. The fact that animals, fellow living creatures are being treated like this for the sake of consumption of a product that is intended for infants is disgraceful. It was certainly enough to put me off milk and dairy products, and triggered yet another reason to look into veganism. This kind of expose needs to be shown to the public, because the public deserves to know. - 4_da_animals

  • open your eyes.

    go vegan.

  • I am going to do my hardest to be a vegan now-I was a huge dairy eater but this filled me with disgust. I would really like to stop these trucks and factories. How bout staging a rally people??

  • @Joyandblissniss Good luck. That will never work. It would be a real waste of time.

  • @cowman1970 Gee, that is really positive. Is that cause you are part of the industry and don't want interference?

I think it would cause you hassle and exposure that you don't want, cowman.

  • @Joyandblissniss If I didn't want exposure then I wouldn't have uploaded quite a few dairy farm videos now would I? Don't like how things are done then go blame the sale barns and processing plants. We at the farm level have no control over what goes on beyond our own farms. Misinformed people like you are the reason I post videos.

  • @cowman1970 Sorry cowman, I didn't know you put utube videos up. Good on you. I don't know who you are or anything about you-I could only ascertain a small amount from your downer to my response to this clip. Peace

  • Is life really so cheap.

No wonder as a species were so quick to kill each other & go to war.

My soul weeps for the loss of our humanity.

  • Don't blame the dairy farm with what happens to these calves once they are out of our possession.

  • its so not right. and the amount of people who have no idea is amazing...

  • Open your eyes and spread the word, this is what happens.

  • You give a mass murderer his final meal before the electric chair, yet depriving a male calf of food for 30 hours before it is meaninglessly slaughtered is okay?

Its sick. Not to mention how they are treated once they leave the farm all the way up to the killing fields.

  • I have been a vegetarian for only a matter of months and I had no intention of going vegan. I always bought free range eggs but even free range chicks are debeaked, then theres the waste disposal of unwanted male chicks. After watching Earthlings and researching the dairy and veal industries I have decided to go vegan. I will be vegan by the end of the week and my intention is to remain vegan till I die. EVERYONE should watch Earthlings. Just out of respect if anything.

  • Awesome video!! but not at the same time. :(. This is so sad i cried when i watched it. But i'm glad your getting the news out their and i hope this will make more people become cruelty free :) Seriously guys go VEGAN. Best choice ever.

  • It's so easy for one to stick their head in the sand about this highly contentious issue. Simply passing this message on to friends and family is not enough! We must take a stance against the dairy industry, and not just by signing petitions, forwarding emails and posting items on facebook, but by changing our behaviours and in doing so, we are actively encouraging others to do the same. So don't just watch this video and forward the link... Go dairy free or this message will go unheard!

  • I'm a dairy farmer and we farm because we love our animals and the land. Believe me, there's no money in it :(

If you didn't like animals, this would not be the life for you. We work 12 to 13 hour days, 7 days per week with the cows and calves, so it's pretty much impossible not to fall in love. At our farm, the calves that need to be sold are fed colostrum (the specially rich milk cows produce in the first four days after calving) within one to hours before they are collected. Don't be nasty.

  • its pretty stupid how people can make lies and say nothing is happening to the poor animals but its so obvious and people who dont know NEED to know.... i swear i will never eat an animal again. i love animals and im really disgusted with the way people treat them..... and for another thing it would be a much nicer world if they at least distroyed the animal humanly in the meat industry is tead of F**king around (please excuse the language, i get very emotional when it comes to animal welfare)

  • @MarcyLittleNinja123 I'm really disgusted with how people treat one another!

  • @cowman1970 Excuse me? =/

  • @MarcyLittleNinja123 It seems as if people like yourself care more about animals than your fellow person. I was judging by your post.

  • @cowman1970

I personally care more for animals than people

    People can look after themselves

mind you I do care for people

but we abuse animals on a ridiculous scale on this planet

they need to be protected and treated with honour

humans help humans a lot and that is great-I want to help them too

but I can totally understand people putting animals first sometimes

  • Great video. Thank you for putting this information out there, it's important people learn about these things.

Do something for the animals and for the planet, folks - GO VEGAN!

  • @MissCephalopod Vegan food really sucks! I could never rob food from the mouth of a herbivore!

  • @cowman1970 You've obviously never had good vegan food. Look at the Post Punk Kitchen and then try telling me again that I don't get to stuff my face with delicacies everyday.

Also, research fail. Livestock farming destroys much more plants than veganism. Besides, you should eat your veggies everyday, regardless of being a vegetarian/vegan or not. If you don't, have fun dying at 50.

  • @MissCephalopod I'm ripping on you simply because you are a vegan. Livestock farming doesn't destroy plants either. It all grows back. I can't stand the taste of anything green unless it is a kiwi fruit. I have allergies to all legumes including peanuts and soy which are a vegan protein source. My last physical showed that I was quite healthy. If people can claim health by not eating any type of meat then myself and others can do the same w/o eating plants.

  • @cowman1970 That first sentence immediately destroys people's desire to take anything that you say seriously.

  • @MissCephalopod I really don't care. Billions of people on this planet will never consume what vegans want them to. Only in a Western society do people have the freedom and choices to make those types of decisions. I would like to see you (or any other vegan) try to take a meal that you don't approve of off a poor families plate. Pardon the sarcasm, I've had to deal with truly ignorant vegans who are out of touch with the real world. If you aren't one of them the you have my apologies.

  • @cowman1970 You are blindly assuming things without any reasonable basis. You don't know the last thing about me - and I assure you that I have never talked someone out of their food. (Except sometimes when they asked me why I didn't eat eggs while they were eating some and were put off then - but if they ask me and can't deal with the fact of eating chicken period, that's their problem.)

  • @cowman1970 I'm not taking food of anyone's plate. I'm not up in anyone's face except when they really ask for it. (And I have been treated much more rudely for what I eat than I have ever been to any meat-eater. Have a look at my year level and tell me again that vegans are meddlesome assholes.)

BUT. If this planet is destroyed because people can't say no to their cheeseburgers, then they will have one very prissy vegan bitch to deal with. I'll get back to you when the tsunami hits.

  • @MissCephalopod The planet destroyed over a cheeseburger???? LMAO!!!!!

  • It may be easy to just go along and do what you have always done but there comes a time where the more u think about dairy, the more it doesn't make sense. It's cruel and unnatural ... we are the only creatures who continue to drink milk after infancy - it is full of fat and proteins designed to help a baby grow.... & if people eat it after infancy it makes u sick & fat!! & it is such a cruel industry to the cows...to be constantly impregnated and having all ur babies sent off to be killed :(

  • It's when you see things like this and think "how can people turn a blind eye" but to every person that turns a blind eye, sometimes there's someone that doesn't, which I guess is good. If only the time comes when no one has dairy anymore, I hope i'm alive for that moment.

  • I'm so glad that there are videos like this surfacing on social media lately! Maltreatment of animals has become so ingrained in society these days that people don't even realise the things they ingest into their own bodies is really weird! Finding out about bobby calves is what turned me vegan last year. "the taste of anything in my mouth for 5 seconds does not equate to beauty and complexity of life" - Unknown

  • Cow's are beautiful.

People would be seriously weirded out by the idea of drinking their dog's milk, but are perfectly happy to drink cow's milk. I wonder whether anyone would actually drink from the udders? Take care of the cows-nuture them, protect them-but leave their milk alone. Our breastmilk days are over.

    Go vegan!!!

  • The idea of unweaned adult humans drinking milk from another species is disturbing on it's own.But to know that this cow's milk is actually stolen from innocent babies is just impossible to justify. These gentle, docile creatures have done us absolutely no harm.Yet few walk this Earth that have been more exploited or brutalized. There are compassionate alternatives to dairy-Many are healthier and better for the environment as well. In simple truth - everything about consuming cow's milk is wrong.

  • I can't believe that i ever consumed dairy.

I am proud to be vegan and will be making sure that i pass this clip onto as many people as i can to help stop this cruel, unethical treatment of these cute little calves.

  • This is upsetting. And this is what people are supporting when they buy dairy products. Vote with your dollars. Buy dairy free products.

  • It saddens me that people refuse to acknowledge these atrocities right under their noses, but what is far worse is the fact that there are people who just don't know about this. I applaud Animals Australia in their efforts to make these horrors of the dairy industry known.

  • Thank goodness for organisations like Animals Australia that open our eyes to what's going on in our backyard. I have been shocked to learn about our farming practices in Australia, and lack of compassion or empathy for these and other production animals. I am so ashamed to call myself an Aussie. That's why I am a supporter and financial member of AA so I can become informed and make choices that will make our world a better place for all of God's creatures.

  • I cried watching this. Its G rated compared to others ive seen though. I really hope people view this and make changes.

  • ‎”But you don’t have to kill a cow for dairy, they like to be milked.”

    It's so simple.

It’s not sentimental, it’s not a second thought.

To choose compassion over greed, kindness over craving. To maybe have to read a label every so often. Is it that harsh a cost to know what’s in your food, anyway?

    To choose sustainability over convenience.

You *can* teach an old dog a new trick. Even if it takes a few more days, it can happen.

Make your choice. But know what you’re choosing.

    It's so simple.

  • Not only does dairy free choc taste SOOO much better... it also comes with guilt-free eating - apart from the calories, but meh I can live with those! What I can't live with is the knowledge that so many bobby calves die each year so others can eat dairy chocolate, and other products! Why would ANYONE want ANYTHING to do with the cruelty involved with the dairy industry? Maybe it's because they don't know better? Or so they claim? Let's help educate the masses about what REALLY happens. ~RaV3N

  • Everyone needs to see this. WHY are we drinking another species milk?? It is disgusting and just plain wrong. We have been totally brainwashed by the dairy industry to think that dairy is necessary to be healthy and strong. It is NOT the case, we can be much healthier and happier without dairy. If you suggest to someone they should drink horse milk, or dog milk they act like you are crazy... there is no difference! People need to choose what is right over their appetite!!

  • Makes me wonder what life would be like if we didn't have a voice. This is disgusting what the dairy industry is doing.

  • I hope this video gets around. Their suffering needs to be heard... this has gone on for far too long and ignorance isn't bliss in this case. I can't understand how any decent human being could be so cruel to something so defenseless and innocent (not to mention ADORABLE) and at such a young age as well. I know money corrupts, but money in my opinion is NO EXCUSE for such inhumane actions... there is NO EXCUSE. So have a heart?

  • What a shocking industry!

  • How can this happen? To the certain real estate who's name appears on the cattle yard gate,do you know what happens here? This is SO sad and disgusting. STOP IT NOW !!!!!!!!!! These innocent calves blood are on YOUR hands. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME Australia, and to think we celebrated Australia Day yesterday. I am ashamed to be an Australian after watching this.

  • Just imagining the pain and helplessness these young calves must experience as they are sent to their deaths is just heart-wrenching.

  • What really hits home is "waste product". This info needs to be spread further/faster as the dairy industry doesn't have to be evil. The more people protest these methods, the more factory farms will shut down and be replaced with traditional family farms which are far better for the environment, humane, and understand that treating the animal with kindness and respect produce a far better product.

  • @panterameetsrebel No - the dairy industry may be evil, but it won't stop by switching to family farms. As long as people demand milk, there will be calves which will have to be gotten rid of. There's no way family farms can keep up with the demand for milk without being cruel to their animals. Better stop dairy altogether.

  • and it's hard to click 'like' on a video that demonstrates such a level of cruelty, but if liking it means that it gets more viewers, so be it.

  • Humans are awful. These poor animals only get to experience a few days of being present in this world and all they get to know of it is starvation and cruelty and loneliness. And this is directly because of us. Shit, the least we could do would be to give them a few of the nicer moments the planet has to offer before killing them. Some sunshine, grass and nurturing from the mothers who have been carrying them for longer than they’ll be alive.

  • These Calves are so beautiful and deserve to be treated with respect, and love...They are providers for us and we treat them as mere objects as machines....Please take the time to sign a petition, hand out a leaflet.... allowing the public to see what is happening....

  • Imagine being 'stolen' from your mother....imagine breathing your last few breaths of air,a dn walking your last few steps to your own death....Imagine the pain and suffering the anxiety you would feel, being denied all your basic needs, and desires...Imagine the feeling of being unloved. Imagine being used, abused, and treated as though your life had no meaning...Imagine never seeing the sun set or rise upon your face...

We are the voice for these Calves and we must HELP and ACT now!!!!

  • it really is so, so, so terrible that people don't know or understand the affects that the dairy industry. 700,000 calves a year... as waste! that's apauling! what if the tables were turned?

what if women were forcibly impregnated then had THEIR babies taken away to be killed?

people wouldn't be too happy then, would they?

thank you Animals Australia for uploading this. hopefully people stumble across it and understand its message.

  • Awesome video, more people should know what really goes on in the dairy business! I think it's sad that people think Animals were put on this earth to feed, clothe and entertain them, and they don't care about where their food comes from, or just ignore what had happen for them to have a chicken sandwhich, or a glass of milk. We shall speak up for the 700,000 baby calves who are victims of the dairy industry each year, AND WE WILL BE HEARD!
