I dont know what kind of directives u have with your airlines, but i do find that whatver u're trying to film isnt it illegal and againt your FA directive. I mean, I fly with Air Pacific Fiji and our directives are so strict. Seeing this clip...i was just laughing out loud. Talking about food safe, thats a big No No to you exposing things as such. And u do eat after ppls garbage...OMG!Doesnt yah directive strict what to eat on board or something. We do. I hv 2 show this 2 my colleagues.
well as an American Airlines FA I am not surprised you got fired for that. thats a huge no no. You also know that now your black listed from working as a Flight Attendant
I got fired for eating off the plates of the people sitting in first class. But it was weird because I was always polite and asked, "Are you gonna eat that?" They always get nice cheeses and fruits up there. People are so strange, they say they aren't gonna eat it, and when I eat it they write the company about me. One complained i used the napkin on their lap after finishing his ice cream. Maybe I shouldn't have done that.
@sparc5 Did you really think what you were doing? You damn right you were terminated when you do something stupid like this and then got found out about it. You had a dream job and you blew it!
And why do they not use boarding music? I remember flying in the 80s when boarding music was typical on KLM flights. I pretty much flew exclusively on KLM back in the 80s as I live in Europe and travelled to Africa.
The food from 1st class on long international flights was usually really awesome. When flying domestically, we'd sometimes eat at the airport, bring something from home, or get the crew meal, one of a dozen types (hindu, kosher, fish, vegetarian, asian vegitarian, etc) we tell the planning computer we prefer.
I guess eating at the airport isn't free for you guys? Or is it? Well, sounds like there are lots of options. At least they don't restrict you to just a bag of peanuts ;-)
I decided that I could serve society more productively if I get a masters degree and try to solve humanity's big existential problems. I miss the job a lot though.
I dono what happened to the sound! My phone always does this if I keep the video going long enough. I was a flight attendant for 1.5 years. Transferred to be an economist for the airline.
i never find the boeing 757s very interested to fly on. I like the engione that rumble more on take off like the general electrics. THe rolls royce engine don't give you that rumble on takeoff and produce more of a smooth whiny sound. I like the subwoofer type noise on takeoff. the first time i experienced the jet power takeoff of general electric on a 767 i was amazed to of experienced some of the most powerfull forms of propulsion
Thanks for this video. I was an ORD based F/A for 6yrs. - the empty plane, making early morning pot just for the crew - all good memories I had not thought of in a long time.
The job/UAL changed so much over the first few years after the Millenium. I began to resent UAL and the PAX. I will always miss the good times, but those were over way before I left.
Two years. What are you doing now? Why did you resent the PAX. I didn't stay long enough to become that way, but you're not the first to tell me they began to feel that way. It makes me sad, because I equate it to disliking people in general.
Well, PAX and people in general are two different things. as you know, people are different while on an airplane. The PAX types changed, due to cheaper fares and the growing extremely demanding consumer (a.k.a. the Starbucks effect). We were providing basically the same service, at a cheaper price with more overhead (i.e. fuel) and a lot less pay. I felt like it was all at employees expense. Thus, I held resentment towards UAL and PAX. I saw no change in the near future, so I left.
Thank,s for sharing!! UAL is my worldwide favourite airline and the Boeing 757 is one of my favourite airliner!! Do you recall the registration number of this UAL 757-200?
this i have always wondered. DO pilots get given the same food as first class passengers on long haul flights. IS it true that the western media often exagerates the salery of airline captains being paid £250,000 a year. I would of thought maybe £90,000 a year, but £250,000 sounds exagerated. Seeing as this was from the trashy sun newspaper i doubted the authenticity of it
Like most flight attendants, I loved the job, hated the way the company treated us. I was still getting a kick out of the job, it's so fun to dress up, and go to Hong Kong on a moments notice on a 747, but I wanted to have a more intellectualy challenging career.
Hey i totally kno how you feel. I worked for American Airlines the amount of work and change was not worth the pay. I then moved to Singapore Airlines which was even harder work for more money. But in the end i couldnt do it forever. Now doing pre med at uni. What ru up2?
Wow you deserve being fired you should not have applied as a flight attendant!

thibaulthalpern 2 years ago
Not free, but usually a little discount. Some airports had cafeterias for the employees.

Why is that a racist comment? Islam is not a race, it's a political movement couched in "religion."

Believe it or not I've seen a lot of people who are paranoid and post comments along similar lines to yours. It is retarded. ~_~

Thank you for serving United, and everyone appriciates it! I hope I can work for UAL as an information technologist when I get older!
I also appriciate that you put MCI (my home town airport) in the vid!
Nothing is better to me than a UAL 757 at MCI!
Because UAL is my favorite airline, and 757 is my favorite aircraft, and KCI is one of my favorite airports!
