I went to this Raoul Ruiz retrospective a few years ago, and have to say I kinda had a hard time. Certainly fascinating, but it was like a Fascinating Nightmare that seemed never end.

Anyway since then, I just can't get over his hypnotic films and that angelic face of little Melvil's, which captivate you like a devil.

I love that final shot - I originally saw it on the cover of Ruiz's "Poetics of Cinema" and thought it was a painting. It's just beautiful.
