This shopping centre consists of ONLY big box businesses and stores, which actually suck money out of Victoria over the long run, and delivering it to the USA or bigger centres in Canada where people are making the big bucks. Don't be fooled by the new and cutting edge design (which actually looks like a pile of warehouses from the periphery. Saddened by this, as it contradicts the local atmosphere that Victoria is known for.
@ArtGeekus Well the design for the place makes pedestrians come first and letting lots of natural light to come in, making lots of wide side walks for everyone. The green roofs provide insulation, obsorbing water, and creating a habitat for wildlife. The urinals in mens washrooms don't flush, saving tons of fresh water going into the ocean. There are stairs and elevators everywhere with the escalator for buggies. It offers nearly 3,000 parking stalls, And that's Just the basic design...
Holy crap! I new that they were making a new Wal-Mart and maybe some new stores but, I had no idea that they were dong this...It's gong to look awsome. I hope it's gong to be done soon. Making a sustainable city one step at a time.
