I love this simply because you didn't try to imitate the original version, you really made the song your own and it works so well for your voice and style. It's a little too folk for anything I'd be into but I still like this. it kind of sounds like the gaslight anthem with the singer of citizen fish's accent. good job overall :)

i have to agree with you, the words are only half the song. So much emotion is behind every word of Against Me!'s music, unless you've experienced certain things, you just can't put the emotion behind it.
