  • This is my favorite game of all time. It's better than most Gradius games, save Gaiden and maybe Gradius II.

  • 8:55 King's Tut face is priceless,he is like:

This little bug burned my face XD

  • favourite part:

    Tutenhamon likes oranges,it seems ;-)

King Tut was quite good XD

Always called him this way XD

  • 8:26 Kill It KILL IT!

  • I only watched the first 2 bosses, but from what i saw all you have to do is stay in the middle of the screen and you dont get hit, only having to move once or twice... im sure it gets harder but from the first part of the video i have to say that im not that impressed

  • @pminer1113 Shoot em up's tend to get harder. They nearly always have useless starter bosses - that's part of the genre.

This game has 22 bosses, and it seems a bit unfair to judge the game harshly just because you don't like two of them. Games tend to get harder as you go along after all.

It's also a Fangame, and running on a system with some serious limitations. Considering everything, it's one of the most impressive Gradius fangames I've ever seen.

  • @pminer1113 Wait, so you simply stopped watching after two bosses? That's like reading the first chapter of a book or five minutes of a new TV series and then giving up on it because the story 'wasn't developing fast enough', isn't it?

  • 5:14 That boss is straight out of Super R-type (Stage 3)

  • クリスタル三兄弟

  • Whoever made this really spammed armsmon the bosses. What was that music for drastic tortoise?

  • @TronPachioftheDynamo Nemesis 3 MSX - Fighter's Blood (Boss Theme)

  • the game isn't TOO good. it's just good

  • Respond to this video... I am shamed. I consider myself a gradius fan yet this game has never come to my attention.

  • The boss themes are pretty damn cool for this game.

  • I wonder how much money James would get if he dragged all those diamonds back to gradius and sold them?

  • Hmm, Kougel Burn reminds me of a certain bloody...orb...thing from Salamander...

  • 4:35 Whoa, those plants are FIRIN THEIR LAZORZ!!!! Sorry... I couldn't resist XD

  • Its Giant ROBO! at 8:25!

  • KOGEL BURN reminds me of zero from kirby

  • the gradius games are nice and all but it leaves me a few questions in mind.

first off all: where da hell do those cores come from?! and why?!

if someone has the answer then please share it whit me

    thanks in advance

  • Damn, Konami should feel ashamed with all the non-creative bosses they have made! Learn more from this fan, Konami! I love the 3rd both very much, by the way.

  • Damn, this is so choppy I'm about to have an epiliptic seazure.

  • LOL What's "Fighter Blood" (Nemesis 3 Boss) Music Being Played Here?

  • if we would like to match the difference in this game we can see that it's ideas may not be acceptable by Gradius Team if we've added it in some Gradius stages because the fan made game might be way different than the original but i must admit that the bosses attacks were outstanding ^_^

please don't misunderstand me but .... the pro players can master this game in a flash seriously after i kept an eagle eye on the bosses actions and processed it ^_^

Gradius IV on Hardest loop 1 is harder ^_^

  • Gradius VI or Gradius 6 is on the way ... while Gradius V is unbelievable in the difficulties against the bosses ... we will see what konami will shows us in the future .... Gradius 6 will be something like a LEGEND to all Gradius games ^_^

  • Well of course Gradius IV would be harder, that's an arcade title! This, however, was made by a fan. It's not supposed to be unbeatable, like a few games I know. (Ninja Gaiden II and Devil May Cry 1 Dante Must Die modes come to mind) Basically, you have a point though. Most of the bosses rely on surprise tactics, and once the surprise has passed, they're extremely easy. However, this game is really hard on it's hardest difficulty. Even you can agree to that, right?

  • since the player had managed to beat the bosses with only machine gun then just let them self destruct in 3 minutes like they do on the most of Gradius games and leave the controller or the keyboard to me then you'll see what i can do to them in these 3 minutes XD

  • Finally a Gradius game where the walls don't kill you.

  • 8:52 That's one pissed off bug.

  • It just got knocked from it's resting place, wouldn't you be pissed off? XP

  • Wow,what a game!!

I thought you couldn't have played better at 6:20 onwards.

    I'm really impressed!!

    Well done ACE!

  • Are you fighting that boss from Life Force and Solar Assault at the end?

  • ...Did you just say "Solar Assault"?

  • heh, not bad ACEspark, nor bad ^_^

  • i like this version of the gradius 3 boss song, it sounds...subtle.

  • 4:12 nice!

  • Are you gonna show all of the bosses in the final stage? What a pain that section was, even though it was ingenious.

  • Is it just me, or is the Drastic Tortoise's first form very similar to the second boss of nemesis 2?

  • I think that's why that boss theme plays... And I think it's Nemesis 3: Eve of Destruction.

  • Yes! This game is awesome! I hope you continue this run!

  • Wow on the 3rd boss the theme just reminded me of "Shoot the Core". I hope you can get that one going again ACE, that was awesome!

  • Heh. The programmer who made this game certainly both was a fan of the series and knew what he was doing, both in terms of gameplay and checkpoint placement.

It looks like he continued the grand tradition of making crystal levels really difficult - the tight flying combined with those floating crystals that explode into 8-way fragments look painful.

Looking forward to the other part of this run!

  • Parts.

    :p

This game has alot of bosses.

The crystal level isn't as bad as it first appears - the 8-way fragments don't actually hurt you, and are just for show.

For the most part this guy showed restraint where the main series would normally go "yep, that's fine."

The final level is how-ever a utter nightmare. I guess he wanted followed Gradius 3 very closely in that regard.

  • Crystal Core XD but th last one of the serials, remind me if one type of attack from the last boss of Contra 3/ Super Probotector

And woah! Drastic Tortoise was the one you showed when you did your ''next projects'' video o_o at the speed you showed it, the guy was slow, but now configured it looks an awesome boss fight.

Also very wicked bosses here are, konami should b proud of this fan made gradius :D

PS: Bad to hear about the Asterix Footage gone wrong :(

  • How many attempts did this take you?

  • Yikes. Cicadas spready attack looked mean.

  • Awesome.

  • the crystal level is my favorite so far.

  • Music is from GRadius III. It looks really polished also.

  • Wow, The 2nd boss REFUSES to die!

  • guys there was a side shooter game like this for the snes. i dont remember much accept the first boss is a giant bug with pincers like a stag beetle. if anyone can tell me the name i would be ever so greatfull

  • It's called Gradius III, and it's my favorite of the Gradii.

  • That's Gradius 3 mate. :P

Check the Video Response i've just added, I did a video about that game a while back.

  • AWSOME! ty

  • one other question do you have any ideas why certain boss's have different music than others? like the pharoh one`

  • Just a choice by the creator of the game.

The first music is taken from Gradius 3's second boss theme, the second is taken from Nemesis 3 on the MSX.

I suppose he wanted the organic bosses to have music from the latter game, seeing how that game almost exclusively has organic bosses.

  • k also when ur fighting the fireball boss when he swings that arm of fire. doesnt that remind you of the smorg boss from paper mario ttyd?

  • can you give me a specific name for the nemisis 3 one? im sorry for all these questions

  • Comment removed

  • The game itself. Both are a central boss that open and close, and fire from their arms that they wave around.

  • This is a lot like Gradius 3. Grand Core is fricking awesome, BTW.
