I do not know if the numbers are right in this video 3,977,005 in CAS care in 2009 there are approximately 34,330,000 people in Canada today in 2011 so according to those numbers over 1% of Canadians are in CAS care that can't be right. If those are real numbers we have a serious problem.
@ManTheBush 3.977.005 was how many living children there were in Ontario in 2006 . Having at that time aprox 25,000 children in direct care of the CAS in Ontario yet 83 of the 25,000 died in care fo CAS ,however in Ontario out of almost 4 million children there was 550 deaths . Why is the death count of children so much higher for less children unless there is extreme neglect in the system.

You are mistaken. Majority of youth who have been through the system will speak out about how they were mistreated and were those lost in a corrupt system. Tossed from foster home to foster home, childrens aid to childrens aid or tossed out on their own at the age of 16yrs. CherishTheChildren is right, many become criminals because they had NO structure growing up or most important, NO one to trust or to love or receive love while in the CAS system. This has to change.

I think this video is misleading. The CAS is a public agency in Ontario, goverened by a public board of directors. The June 2009 review stated "..the majority of children die while in the care of their families, prevention strategies and educational messages need to be aimed at the general public and parents, in particular." Furthermore the report states that the involvement of the CAS did not appear to be a factor in these deaths....Im a bit skeptical of this information presented.

Also, the MCYS oversees the CAS's, and the Child and Family Services Review Board keeps CAS's accountable to thier actions. I'm not sure your facts are solid. Your arguments seems to boil around an emotional plea rather than sounds facts. It's endearing, but just not credible. Furthermore, being uninformed is not the sole basis for being skeptical.

The MCYS is regularly audited on all it's agencies, which is why commissions like the Pediatric Review perform thier functions. Lastly, an attack on me does not, again, make your argument credible. In the Uk things are no different a lot of the children end up on the streets being prostotuted, the social services in nottinghamshire are the worst of the worst their incompetence and sheer lack of care for these children,this is the life for children in care and its high time something should be done; in the early 70s and 80s abuse in these childrens homes was common and known but covered up very well and the victims was made to be the liar.
birthmom admitted to shaking the baby, and my older daughter showed immense fear of her. She was severely underweight and had a broken arm that had not been treated. There is no doubt here...this birthmon has had a total of ten children already...she has lost them all due to abuse and neglect. In our case, CAS did well in saving and protected our kids. But I DO agree that there is too much abuse of power within the CAS, I have seen it everyday when we were fostering.

Although I agree with the fact that there are many flaws within the Children's Aid Soiety, I cannot dispute the fat that without the CAS, my hildren would have remained in danger in the care of their birth parents. In their case, the CAS did everything right, and I truly thank them for that. Do I believe that all is perfet within the CAS? Absolutely not....

I am a single father that has had my son taken on fals pretence, they said my son "did have drugs in his system and was expiriencing withdrawls" one the test results came though they dis-regarded them for three months while saying he had these "drugs" in his system once i confronted the C.A.S they replyed with a new problem and continued.... they gave him back to his mother and.2/3
They are doing the same in ontario and its got to stop..... i think if we take paperwork and audio proof as well as pictures from every where in canada and other nations we can have this stoped but there is one problem our government will never allow C.A.S to be dis-continued being that they suport them the real target is indavidual workers thats where we can not lose and every one who is in canada you are able to record what they say in secret its not illegal to do so but....1/2

I do not know if the numbers are right in this video 3,977,005 in CAS care in 2009 there are approximately 34,330,000 people in Canada today in 2011 so according to those numbers over 1% of Canadians are in CAS care that can't be right. If those are real numbers we have a serious problem.

Having at that time aprox 25,000 children in direct care of the CAS in Ontario yet 83 of the 25,000 died in care fo CAS ,however in Ontario out of almost 4 million children there was 550 deaths . Why is the death count of children so much higher for less children unless there is extreme neglect in the system.

You are mistaken. Majority of youth who have been through the system will speak out about how they were mistreated and were those lost in a corrupt system. Tossed from foster home to foster home, childrens aid to childrens aid or tossed out on their own at the age of 16yrs. CherishTheChildren is right, many become criminals because they had NO structure growing up or most important, NO one to trust or to love or receive love while in the CAS system. This has to change.

I think this video is misleading. The CAS is a public agency in Ontario, goverened by a public board of directors. The June 2009 review stated "..the majority of children die while in the care of their families, prevention strategies and educational messages need to be aimed at the general public and parents, in particular." Furthermore the report states that the involvement of the CAS did not appear to be a factor in these deaths....Im a bit skeptical of this information presented.

Im not sure I exactly trust Wikipedia as well, that site has been established as an "unreliable" source of information. Also, the MCYS oversees the CAS's, and the Child and Family Services Review Board keeps CAS's accountable to thier actions. I'm not sure your facts are solid. Your arguments seems to boil around an emotional plea rather than sounds facts. It's endearing, but just not credible. Furthermore, being uninformed is not the sole basis for being skeptical.

Wikipedia does not have to have a "suit" pending in order for the criteria of "unreliable" to be met. (Wikipedia uses a disclaimer on its use.) The MCYS is regularly audited on all it's agencies, which is why commissions like the Pediatric Review perform thier functions. Lastly, an attack on me does not, again, make your argument credible. My job and occupation is completely irrelevant to this debate. From that logic I would assume you've had children taken away from the CAS?

In the Uk things are no different a lot of the children end up on the streets being prostotuted, the social services in nottinghamshire are the worst of the worst their incompetence and sheer lack of care for these children,this is the life for children in care and its high time something should be done; in the early 70s and 80s abuse in these childrens homes was common and known but covered up very well and the victims was made to be the liar.

birthmom admitted to shaking the baby, and my older daughter showed immense fear of her. She was severely underweight and had a broken arm that had not been treated. There is no doubt here...this birthmon has had a total of ten children already...she has lost them all due to abuse and neglect. In our case, CAS did well in saving and protected our kids. But I DO agree that there is too much abuse of power within the CAS, I have seen it everyday when we were fostering.

Although I agree with the fact that there are many flaws within the Children's Aid Soiety, I cannot dispute the fat that without the CAS, my hildren would have remained in danger in the care of their birth parents. In their case, the CAS did everything right, and I truly thank them for that. Do I believe that all is perfet within the CAS? Absolutely not....

you can not use it in court they have ways to have it removed as evedence but they can not remove it from the news.
I am a single father that has had my son taken on fals pretence, they said my son "did have drugs in his system and was expiriencing withdrawls" one the test results came though they dis-regarded them for three months while saying he had these "drugs" in his system once i confronted the C.A.S they replyed with a new problem and continued.... they gave him back to his mother and.2/3
